About Linda Denson

I came to Galveston in 1992 and fell in love with the healing sound of the surf, the soft sand, the breathtaking sunsets, the palm trees, the Victorian Architecture, the art galleries, and the Strand shopping. My husband and I remodel beach houses and historical homes and wanted a place extended family could stay when they visit. Galveston is a cultural jewel with a rich history. We are blessed that we can call Galveston Island home.

Linda Denson purchased this house in 1999

Why Linda Denson chose Galveston

Our family purchased the beach house as a place Mom and Dad could come stay when they visited. Mom and I totally remodeled this place to be a restful and fun place to stay with GREAT BEDS. Mom is very picky about beds... Our family has restored and remodeled homes for many years. This experience along with my interior design and art background made for a really unique and comfortable beach house. The beach has been a great place to find unique seashells and sharks teeth (but no sharks!) Palm Beach Galveston is almost like having your own private beach.

What makes this house unique

Awesome views from the huge deck. Very relaxing atmosphere. Exquisite underwater-look fish ceramic tile in the kitchen. Comfy beds with high quality soft linens. Hand painted Italian ceramic shell themed dishes, Enough colorful beachy melamine dinnerware for an indoor/outdoor buffet for family and friends. French doors that open up to the deck to enjoy the morning sunrise with your coffee.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had such a wonderful time! I couldn't believe what an awesome view you have from both sides of the deck. My kids could not stop talking about how comfy their beds were and I couldn't agree more!! We definitely had all the comforts of home.

Needs improvement!

  • 3 of 5

The only reason I am reviewing this as a 3 is because I asked for the flood light to be fixed the 2nd day we were here because it was so dark we could not see to get down the stairs without our cell phone flashlights and we were told it would be fixed and it never was. It also advertises as a 2 bedroom and I do not consider it a 2 bedroom when you have to pull a curtain to try to get privacy. and then you can still see in there from the diningroom. It would be great if it had a wall and a door. The bedding was not clean. I had to wash my comforter and my sister just took hers off because it was dirty. I had to go out and purchase plug in air freshners because the musky smell was over bearing. There was no broom to be able to sweep the floors. Also all the nails on the deck need to be hammered down they scraped the bottom of our feet several times. Also one of their support cross boards fell over and barely missed hitting my sisters truck. This can be a very nice place it just needs to be maintained properly.

Perfect for Us - Very Clean

  • 5 of 5

This house is perfectly positioned. The wrap-around deck provided an option to view the water from any spot. Beach access was so easy with the trail right from the house. Had a great time and would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others. It has everything we need.

Great relaxing stay at Palm Beach

  • 5 of 5

This was a great house for a family getaway. The beds are very comfortable. The kitchen is very well stocked. The only thing I missed was a wire whisk, but I really can't complain about that. The room downstairs had a washer and dryer if needed and plenty of toys for the beach. Towels were aplenty which was an extra plus. The beach views are from each corner of the house. The only downside is that living room being open to the room with the 2 queen beds. As long as everyone doesn't mind sleeping among each other, it's great. The bedroom with a queen bed was very comfortable. The TVs worked and there was cable. The internet would go in and out during the course of our stay, but it would always come back up. I'm sure the weather may have something to do with it or being on the coast, I'm not sure and I didn't ask. I highly recommend this as a great family getaway. If you take other couples with you, it's not the best for privacy.

Comfortable, well-equipped house. Short walk to beach. Ideal distance from Galveston.

  • 5 of 5

Proximity to the beach makes this comfortable and well-equipped house a winner. With a good number of very light but comfortable outdoor chairs on hand, setting up your encampment on the beach is a breeze. This section of the beach is off-limits to vehicles. Trips back to the house to replenish your supplies are easy because it's so close. The outdoor hot shower gets the sand out before heading upstairs. The kitchen is very well-equipped, and supper on the deck as you watch the sun go down is always memorable. The house is the ideal distance from the main part of Galveston; far enough away to escape from civilization but close enough to head back in to enjoy the town in fifteen to twenty minutes. The beds are great, the dining room table is big enough for any jigsaw puzzle (ours was 1,500 pieces), and the neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful. We were there right after Christmas. Looking forward to going back in the summer. Many thanks to the owners for allowing us to take our long-haired Dachshund. He likes it there too. Cheers. (There is an epic Mario's restaurant just to the East. Great pizza and fettucine.)

Just Awesome

  • 5 of 5

This is the perfect beach house! Not too big, not too small, but just right with great views of the gulf and only a short walk to the beach. We brought our dogs and walked on the beach every morning; and sat out on the deck in the afternoon watching the world go by. Galveston is close if you want to go into town, and there are a couple of small markets nearby for quick trips to the store. It's peaceful and we loved our stay!
