Black Bear Lodge in the mountains of Corinth Vermont

Black Bear Lodge is a revived Tudor-style post and beam home in the town forest of Corinth Vermont. We can accommodate up to 15 guests. You'll be surrounded by nature with 180-degree view of the mountains. If you're looking for a quiet place to relax, hike, and reconnect with nature, this is the place for you and your family. We will fill your fridge with local produce, cheese and meat upon request. Comfy beds, spring-fed well water.
This house is on a private class 4 road. Winter snow and ice conditions can make it very difficult to travel on without an all-wheel or 4-wheel drive vehicle. If there is a snow or ice storm while visiting, there will be a $150 fee to plow and sand the road for access in and out. during your stay. We provide plowing and sanding for arrival and departure.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

We had a great time staying in this absolutely lovely cabin. It has all of the essentials you may need on a visit to Vermont while still maintaining the perfect atmosphere for an absolutely one of a kind view. I could only imagine how breathtaking the scenery would be in the fall!

I love the area, It is a lovely house with lots of character and so quiet! The host even brought us fresh baking!

Amazing location, great host.

Kathy is a wonderful host, and brought us baking since her raspberry bushes were on overdrive. House is clean and very comfortable. When you drive there, go all the way to Shae Forest sign as google maps stop short at the neighbor's house.

I hate to write a bad review about this experience, but there were quite a few glitches that took away from the experience. It was listed as having four bedrooms. We had three adult couples and two teens. There were really only three bedrooms - although plenty of beds. There was only one bathroom for all the bedrooms on the second floor. Also, there was no information about Wi-Fi (the 14-year-old found it in tiny type on the router). The biggest challenge was getting there. The host was out of town and required us to go to her house (with no house number on a rural road) to get the key. When we got to the place Google Maps sent us for the Black Bear Lodge, there was a chained, padlocked gate with many “no trespassing” signs and other warnings to keep out - never a sign to let us know it was Black Bear Lodge. The first two times we tried to unlock the padlock, it didn’t work. Then it did, and finally, we took a chance despite all the keep-out warnings.Just one more gripe. There was a coffee maker but no coffee pot that is required for the coffee to drip.The house has a beautiful view and is very spacious, but cluttered. If we had known all this, I might be so cranky, but I had especially high hopes given it was the first time I had all my family together in one place. My husband thinks I am too picky.

Homeowner changed the rules of the property day of my check in so we could not go and then refused to give me a refund of any kind then stopped responding to me. Also prior to that tried to charge me extra money per person after I already paid for the reservation in full when booking.
