Sunset Pointe is a beauty!
Sunset Pointe is a perfect place to let children just run and for seniors to just sit and enjoy the view! Tom and Pam are the perfect hosts, so handy yet unobtrusive. They have thought of everything, from every kitchen appliance, small and large and plenty of utensils to the leaf blower that was really needed at the start of pollen season! We appreciated that! We hiked trails on their property and at Buck Spring Park, fished and had campfires. The sleeping arrangements were perfect for our family of 7 adults and 5 young children who really enjoyed the bunk room and all of the toys! Internet service was great and plenty of seating in both living room and dining room. My favorite spot was the back porch with comfy seating, grill and big table! My family typically does a Spring Break trip, but we have already decided next year to push it until summer so we can utilize all of the water sport equipment that is provided. Thank you again, Pam and Tom, for sharing this home with us!!

Family Thanksgiving
Sunset Point was everything and more than the website listed. We loved the house, the property was gorgeous with beautiful sunsets! Pam and Tom were available with anything that was needed during our stay. Our goal for Thanksgiving was to enjoy our family and relax, and both of these goals were met! It was a great place to spend our Thanksgiving holiday ♥️🦃

Historic property with all the amenities and wheelchair accessibility
We had a relaxing stay with our two girls and an added friend. Our younger daughter loved all the toys and games in her room (we could have fit 3 more kids in there with her!). She had something new to play with each day! Our older daughter is a paraplegic and uses a manual wheelchair, so I feel it's important to mention that the entire house is completely wheelchair accessible and the property has many accessible features as well. She was even able to kayak and fully enjoy the lake. The owners Pam and Tom were very helpful and they clearly put a lot of thought and work into the amenities. We hope to have a chance to come again!

Great lakehouse
Great property with a family friendly house. Lots of land to play around with and a nice area to enjoy. The house is comfortable with a game room for the kids too. The peninsula is really nice with a little beach and kayaks to enjoy on a quiet cove.

Beautiful property
We had a great time swimming, kayaking and canoeing right from the property. There was plenty of indoor recreation as well and the one floor plan was great for my parents. The hosts were lovely and made us feel at home. Highly recommend.

Tom has been here since the lake was being built. Pam is an expert in local history. Tom can take you on tours of local historic houses, if you wish. www.HistoricHousePreservation.com

We occasionally have puppies to play with, and socialization is good for them.

We have a horse farm here just a hundred yards from Sunset Point.

This building was built as the lake was being built in 1963. It might be the first building on the lake. It was converted into a house in 1974, and just recently updated.

We live a hundred yards away, and can help with anything you need while you're here.

Why they chose this property

Your private peninsula awaits at Sunset Point. Look out to remarkable views and
unforgettable Lake Gaston sunsets from the; sandy beach with a fire pit, kayaks or
canoe, Adirondack chairs on the point or rockers on the covered porch.
Our 100+ acre property and 4 bedroom/3 ½ bath home has rustic
charm, historic roots, and 500 mbs Wi-Fi .
Sunset Point Features a living room with a gas stone fireplace, aged Yellow Pine walls
and ceilings with beams in what used to be a 1960’s dance hall on the Roanoke
River before Lake Gaston was. The dance hall was converted into a home in 1974, and has been
updated in 2022 with modern conveniences. It is situated on tree lined road with horse
farm and petting animal farm. We are dog friendly, but you must get approval before booking.

There is a 75” TV in the living room, 4 large bedrooms and 3 ½ baths. One is
handicapped accessible. Sunset Point has a 2 car garage and plenty of parking
(large enough to play pickle ball) and an area for an RV hookup. Our home is in
the Acadia subdivision, a mile from Washburn’s Marina and minutes away to
restaurants, food markets and shops. Sunset Point can sleep 8-12 people
comfortably and is a perfect home for your family and friends or for hosting an event. Set up best for 8 adults plus some children.

What makes this property unique

We allow some small non-shedding dogs, but you must contact Pam before booking, and get her approval.
