About this property
YES, THIS IS REAL! Be among our first welcomed guests!
WELCOME!!
Welcome to our cozy and folksy Creekside Retreat Farmhouse, the tranquil countryside home you've been looking for, smartly located near hot-air balloon adventures, wineries, wonderful restaurants, bike trails, parks, and more! Perfect for reconnecting with old friends, enjoying intimate weekends with your loved ones, getting away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, or working remotely in a peaceful setting without having to go very far. WE LOVE IT HERE and want to share the enchanting experience with others who would appreciate it as much as we do!
A WORK OF ART? Some people think so. Reminiscent of a Warren Kimble farmhouse painting, the storybook-style home, perched on a private little hilltop, overlooks the 1.3 private acres of expansive lawns, wilderness areas, meandering creek, and sport court, surrounded by a friendly neighborhood of quiet families and farm animals.
KITCHEN: Kitchen amenities include newer appliances, cookware, serving dishes, and place settings. Views include the side and back yards, wetlands, and sport court. The dining table seats six, and the kitchen island seats two. Just off the kitchen, the covered wrap-around veranda is great for socializing, eating, relaxing, and taking in the views - even when it's raining.
LIVING ROOM: The living room provides intimate and comfortable seating for six. Great for relaxing and socializing, with tree views from nearly every angle. From the living room, walk out the French doors to the side deck for more socializing, summer grilling, eating, relaxing, or simply viewing Trout Creek below.
UPSTAIRS: The hardwood staircase leading to the bedrooms has an upper landing that overlooks the creek below. The master bedroom features a queen-size bed, tree and yard views, and a small office area with French doors that open to an adorable Juliette balcony! The full master bath includes a bidet, relaxing oversized jetted bathtub, and expansive territorial views. Of the two other bedrooms upstairs, one features a queen-size bed, desk, and views of the front yard, while the other features a twin-size bed, desk, and views of the front yard and territorial views of the creek.
LOWER FLOOR: The multi-purpose room downstairs can be used as an exercise room, rec room, game room, theater room, or sleeping room (sleeping sofa). Although this room is closed for renovation through April 2021, the board and card games are still available in the living room. The lower level is also where you will find a variety of yard games, sport court equipment, and a laundry area.
HVAC + VIRUS FILTRATION: The living room and sleeping rooms are equipped with high-tech HVAC system components for heating and air conditioning, have independent temperature controls, and use high-tech air filtration that reduces airborne allergens, bacteria, and viruses. Variable speed ceiling fans can provide additional air movement in the living room, the three bedrooms upstairs, and above the stairway.
SECURITY: Security systems include an electronically controlled driveway gate and some barbed wire perimeter fencing. Other security systems, including exterior security cameras, may or may not be in use. If you have additional concerns about any of the security systems, please send us an inquiry.
HOT TUB: The premises do not have a conventional hot tub. Unfortunately, VRBO adds "Hot Tub" to our list of amenities because we have a 1-2 person jetted tub in the master bedroom. That said, we are considering adding a conventional hot tub in the future. If us not having a hot tub at this time is the ONLY reason you are not booking with us at this time, please send us an "Inquiry", via the Contact Host link, to let us know.
NO SMOKING: No smoking is allowed on the premises. This includes the use of tobacco, marijuana, vaping, e-cigarettes, or incense burning.
PETS: No pets allowed on the premises, no exceptions.
NO ACCESS: The garage, storage shed, and the area beneath the veranda are private, so not for guest access.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

We had a wonderful stay. Clean and comfortable in a beautiful setting. Kids enjoyed the basketball court. Jim was accommodating and really cared about our stay. We would be glad to stay here again.
Clean, well maintained house & yard. Gracious host with attention to detail. Would stay here again if we are in the area & the opportunity presents itself.
Lovely creekside property with huge trees and garden on little creek. Lots of games and toys. Cozy furnishings and top-notch kitchen. Close to grocery, restaurants. Wonderful, responsive host! Family had a great time!

Hi Hope! Thank you for your kind words and great review. It was our pleasure to host you and Steve during Easter week. We are delighted that you appreciate our efforts to preserve the home's historic country charm. Best wishes to you, Steve, Gordon, and your (soon-to-be) extended family! Jim
We had a wonderful experience with this property and the owners. They were so attentive and helpful and the property was beautiful and became a real haven for us during our weeks in the area. Beautiful, many cool mornings with coffee in the comfortable furniture on the wrap-around porch. And a nightly tradition of pickleball on the property's court in the cool Pacific Northwest air. Could NOT have been happier with our experience.
Charming and comfy home with a nice mix of old and new. It rained during our stay but we didn't mind because it's a great place to relax, play games, and get a feel for country living. Breakfasts were quick and easy using the Keurig and waffle/omelet maker. I sat out on the veranda before sunrise and listened to owls while I sipped my morning coffee... very memorable! Nice location and friendly owners. We’ve already made our next reservation!

What a great place. Welcomed by host who shared about property. Accommodations were wonderful. Kitchen was fully stocked with all things needed. Outdoor deck was a great place to relax. Our favorite was the sport court. We totally took advantage and played pickle ball. We would definitely stay again, wish we could have made our stay longer.
Hundred year old farmhouse that was completely rebuilt in 2020. All new
exterior and interior . all new appliances and electrical. Coffee , waffle maker, omelettes with all the ingredients ham cheese, jams and syrup for waffles. Popcorn ect ect. Jim is a great host him and his wife worked hard to bring this old house back to life. At least two acres of grounds with creek and plenty of parking with a security gate. Very quiet. If you like noise stay away. This home is private and peaceful.

Hi Martin! Wow, what a great review! We are so happy you liked our place and the goodies we left for you and Sheila. We agree that the property feels like 2+ acres but, believe it or not, it's actually 1.3-acres. Also, Naomi and I did do a lot of work on the house in 2020, but it's not all-new ;-). BTW, thank you both for leaving our home SO CLEAN after your week-long stay! In return, we are granting you 50% OFF our Cleaning Fee the next time you book with us!! Thanks again. Jim
This is all that the vrbo description says and more. The pictures on the sote are great but don’t do it justice. We spent 2 nights for Tgiving with our daughters and son in laws. The house sits on a knowle where the sun beams in every room especially the master. Even though the house is over 100 years old it has been updated to be very comfortable temperature wise, not drafty. I only wish we could have taken advantage of the sport court! It was way too cold to do that. We will be back! Thanks Jim! You went above and beyond!
This is a gated home in a nice area of 1 to 5 acre ranchettes. Very secure and quiet. There is a stream and sport court on the wooded lot . The owner is still working on a few projects but they didn’t impact our enjoyment of the property.
Wonderful Bothell area property! It’s a gorgeous home and a beautifully landscaped property in the Bothell area. It was an excellent location for us to visit family in Lynnwood! What’s the sets this place apart for me beyond just being an outstanding home and property, was the attention to detail by the owner! Great communication and a lot of details that are very nicely attended to! I would love to stay there again!
Staying at Creekside was truly a joy for our Family. Both the Home and the Hosts Hospitality far exceeded our expectations. We look forward to returning to Seattle and staying her again!
This was a beautiful house and was very well appointed; not lacking anything !!!
The house was immaculate and had all the cabinets filled with food, snacks and NP welcome basket; so nice and very thoughtful ! Loved the serenity of the house; waking up in a cozy bedroom along with a neigboring rooster crow each morning. Sweet plum trees on the property for an afternoon delight with a cold beverage overlooking woodlands, pickleball and basketball court.
We were also 5 mins. from our daughters wedding venue (Maroni Meadows) and, therefore, the running back and forth was easy.
We enjoyed our stay immensely and recommend the host family and property to othere guests with the greatest enthusiasms.
I have never given all 5’s prior to this property. The owner’s attention to detail is impressive and made for a great wedding weekend with family. The house and property is ideal to entertain or just relax and escape. We will look for a reason to go back.
This property is amazing. Beautiful house with lots of character. Stocked with more than you'll ever need. Jim was very gracious and allowed us to bring our granddaughter. She had a wonderful time playing in the creek and the huge yard. Jim went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. This will now be our "go to" rental for our Seattle trips.
The owner was very accommodating, even stocking the kitchen with goodies. Spacious and comfortable for outside and inside gatherings. The sportcourt was a great addition for fun with grandkids. This is the perfect spot if you are seeking a rural feel but in close proximity to everything Seattle offers.
This was a very nice house with an easy drive into Mill Creek Town Center with great shopping and stores. House was very comfortable with a great sitting porch to just enjoy the outdoors after a long day of sight-seeing. Would definitely stay here again.
This was a wonderful home base to explore Seattle and surroundings. The host graciously stocked the fridge with food which was very welcoming and helpful. Because the kitchen was so well stocked, we ended up opting for home cooked meals. The kids enjoyed the sport court and mornings on the porch were wonderful! The owner was helpful and obviously took pride in offering us more than just his home, but a relaxing retreat. Will definitely return!
Absolutely perfect , would have given it 7 stars if I could.
An absolute gem, if you like peace, quiet and nature this is the place for you.
Very well maintained, and Jim the owner goes above and beyond to make sure that all your needs are taken care of.
We stayed in quite a few properties around the world, this one was the best by far.
We can’t say enough about our experience with Jim and this stunning property. The house was immaculate, the grounds are beautiful and serene, and we had SO much fun playing pickleball with the family! We fell asleep to a chorus of frogs and woke up to the calls of neighboring roosters. I kept forgetting that we were so close to the city and traffic, because Creekside Retreat is just that… a retreat for the senses. We absolutely loved it and plan to return. HIGHLY recommend!
We needed a place to stay for a week while we were having work done on our home and we were lucky enough to find Jim's place. Jim was very responsive from the beginning and very helpful in answering questions before we arrived. The property is very big with lots of space to explore and the home itself is fully stocked with everything that you will need for your stay (linen, cleaning supplies, coffee, etc). There were 3 of us needing to be online at the same time for work and school and we had no problems with the wifi at all and had enough work spaces to spread out across the different bedrooms. We had an issue with the fire alarm the first night (I couldn't reach the fire alarm to turn it off) and Jim was quick to address the situation the following day.
Thank you so much for the wonderful stay and we will definitely be back!
We had a blast at this special property that boasts a creek, sport court, and the most gracious host we’ve had in a short-term rental. Highly recommended.
