This is a beachfront ocean view paradise. Whether you snorkel or dive just a few steps outside your door in Half Moon Bay (the snorkeling in front is incredible!) or take a leisurely walk to nearby Yal Ku Lagoon to swim with its abundant fish and sea turtles; or just want to take a quick dip in the pool between relaxed reading on the beach you’ll enjoy this conveniently located condominium in South Akumal on the Mayan Rivera.
Our condominium has one of the best views in Akumal, perched on the north point of Half Moon Bay. This oceanfront condo has large tinted glass walls facing the sea, providing an awesome view from the living room, kitchen and dining room.
There is a full kitchen with utensils, daily maid service and fresh drinking water.
The ocean side tanning area is pure sand maintained by a retaining wall at water's edge. There are thatched shade umbrellas and chaise lounges on the sand making a very nice tanning area. Some of the best snorkeling is right off the condos on the north end of the bay. A small pool is located just off the beach, cool off after sunbathing.
Nearby another excellent snorkeling opportunity awaits in Yal ku lagoon which is just a 5 minute walk away. Before you get to Yal ku you will pass Que Onda Italian restaurant serving fresh pasta, Italian specialties, fine wines and yummy deserts. A convenience store is by the parking lot in front of the condos for last minute items. Farther south down the north Akumal road are more restaurants, convenience stores, La Buena Vida bar/restaurant and their dive shop, and finally the heart of Akumal at Akumal Bay. There you will find grocery stores, gift shops, Lol ha beach bar and restaurant, two dive shops, and of course, famous Akumal main beach. Both Akumal main beach and Half Moon Bay are famous for marine turtles who can usually be seen on any given snorkeling session.
The beautiful Tulum Ruins are only 20 minutes drive, there are several local cenotes 5 minutes away.

My husband, my daughter and I live in Portland, Oregon. The very first time I went to Akumal I absolutely fell in love with it. I never thought I would want to own proprty In Mexico and then I discoverd the Yucatan and the Carribean. A owner of the property where we were staying told me the condo was for sale, Three month later I flew down to take ownership.
Doreen purchased this Condo in 2008
Why Doreen chose Akumal
The ocean view is absolutely amazing and I love the two swimming pools. I can't get enough of the snokeling directly out front.
What makes this Condo unique
Once again the view are what make this condo so charming. I made a staind glass window in Portland and hauled it down with me to add to the charm. All the pictures were hand chosen to reresent the area and fit in to the environment. I have done all I can to make it personal and comfortable with out feeling like you are in someone elses home.

Fantastic view in a charming condominium
The picture in the listing didn’t lie. We were awed by the view of the Caribbean. The ramp leading to the water was the best way to get in and out. You could walk quite a way into the water before it was above your head which was great. Lots of beautiful corral and fish. We didn’t spot turtles but others did.
The condo itself was clean and well appointed. The bed was comfortable. The cross breeze made the place comfortable. It was nice that they supplied the water and veggie disinfectant. Generally quiet except a few boisterous kids playing which was pleasant too. The other renters in the condo were very friendly and social. We shared tips about Akumal over drinks on the beach area. We mostly stayed in North Akumal as it was a slower pace than near the center of the beach area.
We tried La Lunita and enjoyed it very American and most pricy. La Buena Vida was very good Mexican food and lively. We like Turtle Bay Cafe especially the ice cream. The big surprise was the corner shack near the house. Great BBQ chicken and fixings for $12 USD.
The public beach was calmer but very crowded so we didn’t go. We wanted to take a boat trip out but it was cancelled due to weather.
YaKool was fun but get there at 9am or after 3pm also no tours on Sunday. The water was murky but you could still see amazing fish.
We will miss our little home away from home.
Having been to Akumal many times we were delighted to return and stay in such a lovely condo. Everyone was really helpful and friendly, but especially Umberto. We loved the location of this condo away from the busier part of Half Moon Bay with lots of options for walks, climbs on the rocks, swimming and snorkeling. Bring rock shoes, a must as several people got sea urchin spikes in their feet while we were there. The shoes are available in the stores in town.
The condo itself is really comfortable, great bed, adequate kitchen all kept immaculately clean daily. Doereen was great to deal with and Green Eyes are a good management company.
Based on the tragic event that happed to an American family due to gas poisoning while we were in Akumal I would suggest that management considers putting in fire alarms and detectors, other condos we have stayed in in the area always had them.
Thank you for a wonderful three weeks in your condo. The view is amazing at all times of the day.
Best 3 nights of 10 nights vacation
Writing this review would say exactly the same as the previous... Best view & best location. The central half moon bay is very attractive with big sandy beaches. But the really quiet & sereene north end with La Iguana condos are by far the best... Every step in the huge living space looking at the blue green water. Be sure unless raining.. Open windows... The wind is plenty to cool what was so hot & humid on our arrival. Of course all windows must be closed... Tropical storms have a lot of rain & wind. Do not hesitate... All of the best is here so easy with access walking biking or golf cart.. We had a rental car... Bought few supplies at Playa Del Carmen Wallmart ... It is great except... Wanted a good solid pladtic ice chest... Only the worst environmental cooler... The cheap styrofoam but needed for ice to keep some food cool for the drive south. The half monn bay road is a smooth paved surface... Interlocking conctrete block pavers for 1 mile. Two great restaurants a verv short walks reasonable. All utensils & thankfully an AC in the bedroom..all that'sneeded.
Everything we hoped for and more and great value
The condo was well equipped with everything we needed and the location is wonderful as it is at the North end of Half Moon Bay so very quiet. A two minute walk from Yal Ku Lagoon which I highly recommend for a days snorkeling. We had been warned that the internet was spotty but we got enough reception eventually to download email and our local paper. This seems to be typical as some other units couldn't get any internet at all. If it is important to you, get a data plan. There is no TV which is probably a plus. Lots of beach towels in the unit and large towels are also available at the office. Bring water shoes for Half Moon Bay.
The view as seen in the pictures is wonderful and you even get the sunset off to the right. We didn't hire a car and one is not really necessary. It costs 100 pesos for a taxi into Akumal Bay and the office will call for one. The La Lunita restaurant is a wonderful restaurant on the beach and less than a 5 minute walk. They also have free WiFi if needed,
The property was exactly what we expected, amazing location and spectacular view
We had a memorable experience and being able to see the bay from every angle of the property was such a treat! We would highly recommend it. We felt very comfortable and at homr!
Quiet location at end of road--good for a couple.
Once we were able to get real directions we found the condo and moved in for 6 nights. Good bed for me, lovely view complete with iguanas sunning themselves. Location allowed quiet and we could walk to Yah Kol-- a lagoon cenote. Everything needed in kitchen was available though we basically ate out twice a day. Condo is light and airy. No Beach as coral is the norm but snorkeled once or twice and saw a turtle. This condo is on farthest end of Half Moon Bay. Best snorkeling is actually in the middle of the bay (FYI) which you can easily swim to from the condo. Fans and air conditioning (in bedroom) were good for the couple of hot days. Nice base to explore surrounding area from. We had a good time:)
