About the property

Deluxe fully restored homestead cabin, Sleeps 5, 1 bathroom, 2 viewing decks

The Henry's Fork Ranch offers guests 2 miles of private access to the renowned Henry's Fork of the Snake River. This section of river is very wadable or floatable, but most important , 80% of the fish caught off our banks measure 16 inches or more. The ranch is a 500 acre working cattle ranch that caters to the outdoor enthusiast. Ranch activities include fly fishing, bird watching, waterfowl hunting, sight seeing, relaxing, and cross country skiing. Since we offer one solitary cabin, you'll share the ranch with the host, cattle, horses and sheep, but no other guests.

Fishing on the Henry's Fork: The Henry's Fork of the Snake River is open year round for fishing. Most anglers prefer to fish with flies but the river allows rod casting as well. This stretch of the river is designated as a wild fishery so it has limits and restrictions. The fishery is very healthy and big Rainbow and Brown Trout are the norm for anglers.

Henry's Fork Ranch is in the middle of it all: The Henry's Fork Ranch is centrally located near many of the areas major attractions. Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks are within a short drive. There is also Jackson Hole Wyoming, West Yellowstone and St. Anthony Sand Dunes. The ranch sits on the bank of the Henry's Fork but there are the South Fork of the Snake River, Madison River, Warm River, Fall River, Robison Creek, and numerous other streams. We also have major lakes like Henrys Lake, Island Park Reservoir, Hebgen Lake, and Ashton Reservoir to fish.

Year round activities: The ranch provides an environment for many migrating birds and waterfowl. Bird watchers come to see a wide variety of bird species such as Trumpeter Swans, Canada Geese, Sandhill Cranes, Bald Eagles, Osprey and a wide variety of songbirds. Other activities include ATV riding, Golfing, Horseback riding, hiking, rafting, skiing and snowmobiling depending on the time of year. Waterfowl hunting is available on the ranch and big game hunting is nearby.

Awesome Stay

  • 5 of 5

We booked this ranch stay several months before our summertime driving trip around the western states. After 3 weeks in standard hotel rooms, Henry's Fork Ranch was a fabulous respite from the routine. The Fuchs made us feel so much like family. From our initial greeting on arrival, to the daily visits after there work day, and to the 4 wheeler trips around the ranch and fishing spots. Then there was the family dinner which was such a pleasant surprise followed by an evening at the Rodeo. I wish every American could experience such a reality check.

The cabin had everything we could ever need, including a big back porch; perfect for lounging or visiting or spreading out all the fishing gear, and within earshot of the river.

This was a great place get away from it all and just what we were looking for.

Owner's Response: Many of the guests who stay with us do become part of our family or at least the family of outdoor enthusiasts who appreciate nature, fun, good friends, natural wonders and simple pleasures. A friendly dinner and a summer rodeo are all the ingredients that were required to make ranch guests into close friends who we look forward to have stay with us again. The memories of catching your first Henry's Fork Trout or the challenge of stocking a large trout that has broken your leader before. These are the memories and lessons that the river will give you for free.

Loved it!

  • 5 of 5

Bill and Teresa could not have been nicer. We loved the location and the cabin is beautiful! The only thing I wish was different is that we could have stayed longer. Six days was not enough. So much to do! I highly recommend staying at Bill and Teresa's. Thank you for your hospitality and for sharing your beautiful ranch with us!

Owner's Response: We enjoy having guests stay with us and it is true that six days are not enough to see what this area has to offer. We believe this is why we have so many returning guests who have become friends and we're always happy to see them back here at the Henry's Fork Ranch. We highly recommend that more guests should come during the off peak season during the winter when there is actually more to see and do. Thanks for the nice review.

Bill and Teresa's cabin was the perfect place for a family getaway!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and 1-year-old daughter stayed for four nights at Bill and Teresa's cabin. The cabin was beautifully updated and was very comfortable for our family. We loved giving our daughter baths in the claw foot tub. The cabin was very clean and had all the amenities. We loved sitting on the front porch in the morning to have coffee and watch the cows in the nearby pasture. The back porch had a gas grill and we cooked out almost every night. The river is very close and my husband enjoyed the convenience of the fishing. Bill and Teresa were very welcoming and included us in many of the ranch's daily chores. We would definitely come back again.

Spectacular visit to ranch on the Henry's Fork!

  • 5 of 5

It was everything we wanted for a fly fishing trip, having private access to the most premier fly fishing destination river out west. The cabin was very nicely constructed, well equipped with extras, and adequately stocked to meet our every need...... Bill and Teresa are very gracious hosts and are very informative on things to do in the area. We had stunning views from the front porch of the Teton Mountains and just a short convenient drive to Yellowstone National Park. The fishing on Henry's Fork was fulfilling to our desires, having caught nice browns and rainbows just yards from the back door of cabin. We look forward to going back in the future.
