Quiet, rustic cozy home on wooded grounds, perfect for a relaxing getaway. We are 1 1/2 miles from James Creek boat launch near the center of Lake Raystown, located near Entriken. This home has two bedrooms, one on the first floor with a double bed, and the other, on the second floor, with two beds - a double and a queen. The second bedroom also sports an upright piano for the musical guest. Wi-Fi is available. Deck is furnished with outdoor tables, seating, and a gas grill. A fire ring is available off the deck for making s'mores and the ingredients are complimentary! Plenty of birdwatching and chattering squirrels. See our tourist guide booklet for all kinds of fun things to do. Have a great time!

Lake Raystown is the fishing and boating capital of central Pennsylvania and James Creek launch is a hot spot for bass tournaments. Five minutes from Lake Raystown Resort and Waterpark and Trough Creek State Park's Balanced Rock and Swinging Bridge, multiple hiking trails, and great trout fishing. Multiple geocaching opportunities in the area. 15 minutes from Seven Points Recreational Area and Marina and the Allegrippis biking trails. Why Julie chose Allegheny Mountains & Her Valleys

Our family purchased acreage on Piney Ridge in 1971 to take advantage of the newly formed Raystown Lake, built a road, cleared the land, roasted many a hotdog over burning brush piles, and finally built the cottage in 1974. It has been the site of many reunions, a wedding, a few honeymoons, anniversary & birthday celebrations, and Thanksgiving dinner has been a tradition here since 1974. The cottage has been well used & well loved. We chose the spot for its proximity to the lake to take advantage of the many activities such as boating, skiing, swimming and fishing. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Guestbook comments from the owner

This place is lovely!! We shared breakfast on the deck every morning with the hummingbirds and stargazed at night. Never see this many stars in the city! It was a wonderful place to unwind after a day of boating and hiking. Thanks for opening your home to us - you've thought of everything! See you next year!

fall getaway

  • 5 of 5

What can I say, this is our third year coming to this lovely cabin. The setting is perfect surrounded by trees and secluded but close enough to run the nearby Walmart. Julie provides everything, towels, warm blankets and a fully stocked kitchen. The outside grounds are beautiful with the large deck and fire pit. Love the fall getaway and will be booking again next year. Planning on booking during the summer and bringing the grand kids for some lake fun. Thanks Julie for everything.

Nice cabin

  • 5 of 5

This is the second time that we have stayed at this cabin and we thoroughly enjoyed both stays. Very clean and comfortable with nearly everything you will need to enjoy your stay except the food. The location is off the beaten path and peaceful, but only about a twenty minute drive from Huntingdon with grocery stores, a WalMart etc. Nice getaway.

Beautiful cottage, very well maintained!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed for a weekend and cannot wait to come back next year. The pictures really do not do this cottage justice. It is exceptionally well cared for and maintained. We loved spending many hours by the fire pit. We saw many golden finches, nuthatches, woodpeckers, chipmunks and red and gray squirrel. We spent our daytime hours checking out different areas of Raystown Lake. The 2 main overlook areas provide amazing views. The inside of the cottage is exceptionally clean and very comfortable. Thank you for sharing the cottage with us. We can't wait to come back next year, hopefully for a full week!

SUPER!!!!!

  • 5 of 5

The property was just beautiful.

From the beginning we felt right at home and we felt sad to leave.

The cabin was super clean and very well taken care of and the surrounding area was so beautiful.

Our compliments to the owner, Julie, on how well everything was organized.

We would recommend this property to our friends.

If the oppertunity comes we will for sure come back to this property

Quiet, private, restful place to stay

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay last week at your "cozy getaway." The weather was great for everything we were hoping to do, and the cabin was a quiet, restful and homey place to come back to each day. Thanks!
