This beautiful, quiet property is adjacent to the Raystown Lake Federal Lands and in between the Marina and Resort areas. Stroll down a private, quiet country lane to your own entrance to the lake. You can hear the birds singing and the fish leaping out of the water! This is a great entrance for kayaking or just floating on the provided rafts. (We will rent up to 4 kayaks upon request, also.) And a perfect place for a private picnic! More to do can be found here: http://bit.ly/18wgjbh. We also offer other amenities that you can add to your stay such as life vests, shopping and catering service. You can even rent a captained 28-foot Regal open bow with a swim deck.
Just one mile down the road is the Aitch boat launch and fishing pier. A wonderful view of the tree covered mountains surrounds you. Public guided boat tours are available at the Marina and Resort areas.
You will truly enjoy the three HD TVs, the pool table, and the 4-person hot tub.
The master bedroom on the main floor has a queen bed and a large master bath w/ oversized Jacuzzi (non-jetted) tub, separate shower, walk-in closet and Kohler fixtures. This master bedroom has a sliding glass door onto a rear deck w/ beautiful view of the federal lands and a pond where you can frequently find a blue heron looking for fish.
The main floor has dining room & living room w/ gas fireplace. The modern kitchen has every convenience you need including an island w/ a Jenn-Air grill & gas range unit, a side by side refrigerator, built in microwave, built in oven, dishwasher, & garbage disposal. We also supply a drip coffee maker, rice cooker, crock-pot and other kitchen gadgets. This main floor has nice laundry room & separate half bath.
The second-floor loft contains two queen size beds and a large, full-size bathroom with a large shower. A convertible bed is in the living room for additional guests. Despite the number of beds, we will only rent to a maximum of six adults.
There is a screened in 3 seasons room w/ entrance off kitchen & dining room. This home has a heat pump, central air, central vacuum, ceiling fans, skylights & nice attached 26’ x 26 garage.
IMPORTANTLY - VRBO does not permit the guest to select particular amenities when requesting a quote; but I can modify your quote upon request. Please let me know if you are interested in any of the following: bringing multiple pets, renting kayaks, renting life jackets, renting a 28-foot open bow Regal boat with a swim deck (captained), or kitchen stocking and/or catering. I will modify your quote and we can move forward from there. This is a serious flaw in VRBO's system, and I have submitted a request for the change. Sorry for the inconvenience!
Mom and wife with a beautiful family, cook, blogger, and attorney. Our favorite pastime is to eating, drinking and being merry. Doing it at the lake is a bonus!
Faith purchased this house in 2007
The location provides for a quiet, peaceful stay. This is a 'get-away' property, and if you love wildlife, you can see Eagles, Bobcats, Fox, Deer and many smaller, beautiful critters by just strolling quietly in the woods. Of course, you have to know how to look for them. We love the lake and playing in the water.
The hot tub in the three seasons room followed by several rounds of pool while watching the big screen HDTV!
We shared the house with another couple plus two kids and two dogs and it fit us all perfectly! It's nestled in a beautiful spot with mountain views and a short walk to the lake. We were there in December and the snowy landscape was breathtaking! The frozen beach was also gorgeous. In all, a fantastic place to get away from the city and relax! Faith was so helpful and welcoming too. It was a great experience!
Faith is great to work with and very accommodating. The house is well accommodated and the hot tub and screened in porch are a plus. This house is also an easy hour drive to Beaver Stadium in State College. We hope to visit again!
The property was beautiful and very well maintained. The lake was a short walk from the house and easy to find. Faith was available to answer any questions we had. We would definitely stay here again
We loved our long weekend at the lake! Not only did it offer a short drive to put our boat in the water, it gave us access to great walking trails with peaceful views and easy fishing spots. The house made us all feel right at home! Faith and Tony were friendly and willing to accommodate you during your stay. We are currently in the process of planning our next visit! Thank you again for sharing your house with us.
We spent six nights over the Labor day weekend. Faith was great with answering all my questions prior to departure. We (50ish) traveled with our daughter and boyfriend (20’s) and our 2-year-old PBGV Zoe. The home was in a great location, close to seven points and a short walk, bike, or drive to the water. The accommodations were clean, neat, and well appointed. The beds were very comfortable providing some serious rest after long days’ outdoors. It is truly a step up from most lake cabins and cottages especially for the price. We cooked most all are meals at the rental. We fished daily from three locations easily reached by bike, walking or driving and biking. Summer heat was not the best for fishing though caught a few small ones. We did enjoy the pool table at night and having TV’s throughout the house was a plus for us sports fans (US Open and NFL). I’d strongly recommend renting a pontoon for boating, fishing, and tubing (Seven Points Marina). The kids rented paddle boards at the Resort one day and had a great time. We also found the Lower Trail (rail trail) one of the nicest biking trails in PA. It is 20 minutes with entry at Williamsburg. We took our dog to the lake every day and on long walks throughout the paths close to the home. She also joined us on the lake with the pontoon boat. Faith arranged kayaks for the week. We got out twice and the kids once. Pretty easy to haul two of them in the back of your SUV to the path which is about 100 yard to the water.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Babette's Lake House August 18-21 2016. We stayed with another couple and there was more than enough room for everyone. The house is beautifully decorated and fully stocked with everything we needed except food and toiletries. I walked down to the lake a few times. According to my fitness app, it was .6 miles. It was a very nice walk, but we weren't able to use the kayaks because we didn't have room for them in the truck and didn't want to beat them up dragging them on the gravel road that far. Next time, we will make sure we bring an empty truck or cart. The kitchen was huge and well appointed, so we ate most of our meals at the house. The house is in a nice, peaceful area but only about 15 minutes from Seven Points Marina. There is also a WalMart nearby (about 8 miles). We can't wait to return! BTW, make sure you print out the directions from the website before you leave home. Mapquest was close but not quite right and I didn't have any service on my phone to access the directions on the HomeAway app.
Penn State University is 45 miles away, and Lincoln Caverns is within 10 miles. Also, nearby is the Lake Raystown Resort Waterpark, Altoona Curve baseball and Penn State University. An outdoor wedding chapel is beautifully located on Lake Raystown.
