Las Sirenas beach villa is a relaxing and breezy two-story home with 24/7 security in a tranquil gated community with luscious green areas perfect for leisurely walks and bike rides. It has parking spaces for 2 cars and is a 5-minute drive from the Fajardo Mall and movie theaters. The Kioskos de Luquillo (Luquillo Kiosks: 61 food, bar, and art businesses next to each other) are just a two minute drive from the villa. Within walking distance, there are many restaurants, as well as pharmacies, bakeries, and other specialty stores and businesses.
Some of the nearby activities include surfing and windsurfing at nearby La Pared or La Selva, and spectacular snorkeling and scuba diving. The beach villa is only 15 minutes away from the world-famous El Yunque Rainforest and Las Cabezas de San Juan Natural Reserve and Lighthouse (which is home to one of the world's last remaining bioluminescent bays). It is a 15-minute drive to the ferries and airport that provide transportation to the offshore islands of Culebra and Vieques and even closer to several horseback riding and ATV facilities.
Amenities: The house is fully furnished and equipped in addition to having: A/C in both bedrooms (optional A/C in living areas), 10 ceiling and floor fans throughout the property, stove-top oven, conventional oven, microwave, coffee maker, Italian espresso machine, tea kettle, washer/dryer, WiFi Internet, Cable TV, DVD, music system, board games, a selection of paperbacks, Grill/BBQ, lounge hammocks and a full security system with alarm.
The L-shaped terrace is very spacious (has an outdoor shower for after the beach or pool) and overlooks a variety of fruit and palm trees.
It boasts ample recreational facilities that include a pool, tennis courts, basketball court, full children’s playground and gazebo.
We are a family of five from San Juan, Puerto Rico who has always enjoyed the beautiful beaches of the Northeast coast of Puerto Rico and the relaxed atmosphere of Luquillo. We have other properties throughout the island so between them, work and the many activities/responsibilities that arise, we don't visit Las Sirenas as frequently as before and that's why we decided to rent.
Gustavo purchased this villa in 1993
We vacationed in this area often and, in particular, this complex (Solimar) for many years. Each street is a dead end street with ample parking areas in the center which results in a tranquil, spacious area ideal for bike riding, outdoor games, etc. There are lots of lush, green areas and it is very peaceful there. Outside the complex and very close by you have everything you might need: restaurants, fast food, stores, banks, drug stores, churches and more. We decided to buy because every time we went there we wanted to spend more time and continue to enjoy it. It was a wonderful decision!
Our home is extremely breezy and tranquil year round! It sits on a corner lot with no neighbors in the back which adds to privacy and coziness in the terrace. We had ample green space in our patio and decided to create a luscious garden with trees including: mango, guava, pomegranate, caribbean cherry, Seville orange, grapefruit, loquat (níspero) and other plants and flowers. We especially planted two palm trees with the perfect distance to hang a hammock plus their coconut water is particularly sweet. Whenever you are there it feels like you are in a retreat and want to stay indefinitely.
We came to Luquillo as a family vacation. Evidently, we just missed the rain of four days and the weather was gorgeous.
We had a wonderful time—this is not only a great place to stay (Las Sirenas), but the town is situated close to adventures and exploring that are worth your time!
Luquillo has a beautiful beach off the back gate as well as the public access down the way. One day the waves were big enough for the children to body surf.
El Yunque to the falls is a nice trip- the water was cold, refreshing and a nice treat after the hike (especially with a baby on your back).
I strongly recommend Culebra Island. It is truly one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen! When you come back at 5pm make sure you stand in the correct line to get on the ferry (buy a round trip ticket a day ahead of time), otherwise you may get stuck on the island (shucks!).
We also did the Bioluminescent Bay tour with BioIsland Tours. This was an electric boat as opposed to the kayaks. Jeff & Charlie were the captain/co-captain; it has been a family operated business for 3 generations. They were very knowledgeable, friendly and a pleasure to hang out with. The 6pm tour is the best; you get to see the mangrove and the Bio Bay!
We have had an amazing time in the area- Old San Juan too! This is a beautiful country with beautiful people and great food. Enjoy!
We were very happy with our time at Las Sirenas. The home is in a very safe, gated community, and we found the overall location to be perfect. It is close enough to the airport and San Juan (40-50 minutes) without being an overwhelming distance, and it is also close to El Yunque National Forest and the beaches at Farjardo. We got to the Luquillo beach via a two-minute walk, and the swimming beach was also within walking distance along the picturesque oceanfront. The pool was clean and quiet, and my kids and husband could even play tennis in the compound (although we found that we had to pay $10 to access the courts). The home is also close to a grocery store, pharmacy, gas station and several fast food restaurants and food kiosks (although we never ate in Luquillo).
For the most part, the home is very well-equipped. We cooked almost all of our meals there, and the kitchen was well-stocked with cooking equipment and utensils. It would have been helpful to have a few more spices and some tupperware-type containers for food storage. If I were the owner/property manager, I would update the local restaurant menus, home instructions, site-seeing brochures, etc., and I would purchase new pillows. Everything in those areas seemed tired or downright old. Additionally, there were almost no personal supplies as advertised, so we had to buy our own toilet paper, paper towels, soap, shampoo, etc. That said, there was plenty of cleaning fluid, laundry detergent, etc. We also never got the wireless working (although I liked not having wi-fi so that our teens interacted more with the family), and the TV and DVD need more instructions on how to operate the whole system. If you want to play games or watch movies, definitely bring your own. There was one VHS copy of Free Willy, but no other movies that we could find. Same with books: bring your own. The books provided were boxed up in a closet and more than just dog-eared. Lastly, we found that we had to turn on the water supply and flip the electrical circuit switch for the stove.
The one time we needed to contact the property manager, Gustavo, he returned our call within two hours, and he was friendly and helpful.
All of this is to say that we really liked the home, we especially loved the location, we would stay there again, but we think there need to be a few minor updates to make the place better and a better match to the listing itself.
Our stay was overall disappointing. The pictures looked nice but in reality we found the house older and more dirty than what it looked like. Everything needed a refresh. The fan in the bathroom was rusty and dirty, the pots and pans in the kitchen was very used, the bathroom rug did not look so clean, the kitchen stove looked a little greasy etc.. The surface was certainly cleaned but it needed a deeper cleaning for our standards. Other than that the location is good, very close to the beach and town. It is very safe. The community has good amenities like the pool, the park etc... Although for us the pool was closed on Thanksgiving day and the day after, and we never understood why. Maybe because not enough people ? The property manager and owner are very nice people who tried to solve our problem quickly (the password of the wifi had been changed and was not reported on the house welcoming instructions, and the tv router was not working anymore). They also gave us recommendations on places to eat and things to do.
Overall it was just not up to the standards we had seen in other rental.
This was such a great rental house for our family! It was in a very secure neighborhood with a pool and a short walk to the main beach in Luquillo. The layout was as advertised and was plenty of room for our family of 4. The managers were helpful when we were not sure what to do with the alarm and emailed them. The location is very central for many activities in the northeast corner of Puerto Rico. A really good choice!
Gustavo provided us with a wonderful place to stay in PR! We (including my wife, 4 yr old son, and MIL) stayed for a little over a week and were very happy with the accommodations. Surprisingly, we thought the place looked even nicer than the photos. We spent much time on the wonderful patio overlooking the garden. After a day at the beach (all easy to get to) I would find myself in the hammock, relaxing with a book in the shade with a wonderful breeze. The patio was also great for breakfast and dinner, and we managed to use his gas grill a couple of times (well equipped with grilling tools). Everybody in the community was friendly, including the neighbor and the people at the pool and front gate. For minor nitpicking, I missed having a dishwasher since we cooked a lot, but we knew there wasn't one. Also, watch out for the tricky half-step in the upstairs bathroom!
Las Sirenas was easy to find and easy to get to from San Juan. The location was close to food shopping but far enough away from the main road. Everything was as described in the listing, and we would definitely stay there again.
My husband and I rented this villa and had the time of our lives. It is awesome. It is not on the beach but the walk is short and we went to the beach every day. Also, the patio is wonderful! We ate dinner on it every day and danced at night! It is very clean and having a bathroom right off the patio was so convenient when we came back from the beach. The fact that it was a gated community made me feel safe. The people who live there are wonderful. I would like to thank Gus for helping us with the rental. He was very quick to respond to my emails and keep me informed. I would highly recommend this.
My family and I had a great time. Las Sirenas is a very clean a very well kept house. It has everything we needed. It was very easy to rent, we signed the contract, sent check, everything was done according to what we spoke. Gustavo is a very caring person, he made sure that everything was according to our expectations. Thank you. We hope to go back to Puerto Rico soon. It is a wonderful and relaxing place.
Adjacent to famous Playa Azul and the Balneario de Luquillo , this two bedroom/two bathroom beach villa is located in the heart of Luquillo. The popular Luquillo Kiosk (or kiokos) are walking distance or a very short drive from the Las Sirenas.
The Westin Rio Mar Beach Resort and the Conquistador Hotel are just 10 and 15 minutes away (respectively) and have great golf courses, full casinos, bars and other amenities and activities.
Additionally, the villa is less than an hour drive to the colonial city of San Juan (Old San Juan), with more than 485 years of history; it includes two Spanish forts (El Morro and San Cristobal).
Luquillo is proud to have the only beach in the world with access for people with disabilities called 'Mar sin Barreras.'
