Guestbook comments from the owner

4/28 guests filled out our survey form and said the following "probably the cleanest house we've ever stayed in", "kitchen had everything we needed", "sliding doors in bedrooms to decking was a great asset". the only criticism they had is that internet was working intermittently (our line was out and they were picking up neighboring connections, centurylink finally came out on saturday so there's now a strong signal from our router), and "no tv's in bedrooms is not good". We've personally never understood the need for that but this is the 2nd time we've heard that so its now on our list to do this coming season, run cable and wall-mount flat screens to all 5 bedrooms.

Our stay at Seaquester

  • 5 of 5

There was plenty of room for everyone to find a small little place where we could read or get off by ourselves but instead we tended to all gather in the one room off the kitchen at the table or in front of the TV or by the window seats! We absolutely loved everything about the place. The pool was sheltered pretty much from the wind (Hurricane Maria actually) and so we used that and the hot tub quite a bit. Thank you so much for a wonderful vacation.

Perfect.

Clean, beautiful, well appointed! We'd stay again in a heartbeat.

Even our friends who live on the water in Norfolk enjoyed the beautiful beach view.

Beautiful view, lots of room

  • 5 of 5

The house was very nice and roomy. We had plenty of room to spread out. The kitchen was large enough for multiple people to be cooking/prepping at the same time. The kitchen had all the equipment we needed. The stove was a little touchy and took some getting used to. I recommend starting at less than #3 setting. We had 5 adults and three young kids and didn't fill up one of the 2 refrigerators so plenty of room for food. The one thing lacking for us were kitchen towels. Sponges were provided for cleaning, but nothing for drying.

The pool was a big hit with the grandkids. We were there the first week in May so we got the pool heated. Definitely worth the extra cost. We had trouble with the heater one day, but maintenance was quick to respond. Elevator was very helpful the first day, but we didn't use it the rest of the week. We kept getting it stuck because there is a sequence to follow. Fortunately, the owners were there when we arrived and showed us the ropes or we would have had to carry all the luggage and groceries up 3 flights of stairs.

The best part was the view. My husband and I got up early most mornings to watch the sunrise. Beautiful. We had the beach to ourselves with walkers and runners passing by and some stopped to chat. It was very relaxing.

The house is not within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants. We are in our 50's and not athletic so it may not be a factor for others. If you don't want to drive to shops, I recommend bringing/renting a bike. There is a paved path separate from the road that goes the length of the strip.

We had a great time and highly recommend this house to others.

Great house and location!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay at Seaquester. The home is beautiful and spacious, allowing for room to spread out. Beautiful view and we had a great time in the hot tub. The town of Duck is cute and removed from the traffic of Kitty Hawk and Nags Head. We were grateful that our dogs were allowed to stay. The house is well equipped with fun games and activities for all ages.

Owner's Response: Holly, Thanks for your review! Duck is a great town with all you need for your family vacation and still close to the Kitty Hawk to visit the Wright Memorial, Nags Head for their Outlets and Corolla for their Wild Horses, if you have enough time after playing in Duck! Hope to see you again SOON!

WOW!

  • 5 of 5

As we pulled into the driveway, beat from the drive from Philly we started unpacking and as in years past dreading the trudge up to the third floor kitchens. However Leslie, god bless you, an elevator!! It made bringing groceries and luggage back and forth so easy! The heated pool and hot tub were amazing. Kitchen has anything and everything for your stay. The beds are great. Views are spectacular and plenty of places to slip off to read or just sit and think. Place was immaculate. I would recommend this to any type of family large or small. We had two friends and my daughter and her boyfriend down early in the week and then it was just my wife and I and it was wonderful. So close to town for supplies. Also Sound Sea is a more spaciously laid out development and you don't get the closed in feeling you do in some other rentals. Leslie thanks again. As soon as we get squared away we will pick a week for next year!! Please rent this unit with confidence, you won't be disappointed!

PS the Handling of the rental from start to finish also was a treat. The company was in constant contact and only a call or a text away if needed. Reminders of what we needed to bring and what not. Keyless entry! Just the best.
