Guestbook comments from the owner

4/28 guests filled out our survey form and said the following "probably the cleanest house we've ever stayed in", "kitchen had everything we needed", "sliding doors in bedrooms to decking was a great asset". the only criticism they had is that internet was working intermittently (our line was out and they were picking up neighboring connections, centurylink finally came out on saturday so there's now a strong signal from our router), and "no tv's in bedrooms is not good". We've personally never understood the need for that but this is the 2nd time we've heard that so its now on our list to do this coming season, run cable and wall-mount flat screens to all 5 bedrooms.

Couldn't be better!

I was going to discuss the pros and cons of vacationing at Seaquester, but there just are no cons. We are a family of seven adults and we had a blast at Seaquester. First of all, Patti at Great Escapes was so kind and helpful, and their cleaning crew did a fantastic job- the house and bathrooms were very clean (and I am fussy). There are four king bedrooms with their own bath and a room with two bunk beds, which we didn't need to use. The top floor has a master bedroom, the living room, dining room and kitchen (with everything you could want). The two refrigerators were wonderful - we used on for ice and beverages and the other for food. There are two coffee makers so we had one for regular and one for decaf! That was a nice touch. Great Escapes also left us a small basket of a few necessities and the kitchen has spices, but you do need to bring most everything for food and cleaning, though each bathroom has a dispenser of hand soap, another nice touch. And the multiple light switches are labeled- you can tell the owners have really thought of ways to make their home easy to love. There is a screened in porch for the master bedroom and a screened in dining room as well, with wrap around decks on the top 2 floors. So lots of space for couples privacy and lots of space for us all to get together.

The pool is great, and after we decided you didn't need to be a kid to use it, we all had fun on the water slide. Lots of loungers, an umbrella table, chairs, and pool toys as well. The hot tub was such a treat. The pool and hot tub were super clean when we arrived on Saturday, and the pool maintenance guy came again on Tuesday. Did I mention the private walkway to the sandy beach right on the ocean?

The house is beachy, but not kitchy- soft blues and neutrals, very comfy beds and chairs and sofas. Lots of storage space in the closets, extra blankets and pillows if you need them.

We had one terrible rainy day (Tropical Storm Bonnie) but then at 5 pm my son called us out to the deck to see a full arc double rainbow! So I guess you can tell we loved the house, the location and the Outer Banks.

This rental is worth every penny for the ocean front location, the pool & hot tub, the charming and comfortable interior and everything you want and need for a great family vacation.

Seven thumbs up for our family! We hope to be back in 2018.

We absolutely had a wonderful time at this cottage. The weather was a little cool, but the pool was warm. Our grandchildren, children, as well as my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The kitchen is one of the best stocked as far as cooking utensils that I have ever seen. The view and access to the ocean couldn't have been better.

Great Location!

  • 4 of 5

The house is located right on the shore and has a great view of the ocean. It's a short walk past the pool down to the beach. We had 12 people staying at the house with plenty of room. The pool is heated but the heater did fail a few times while we were there. However, when we called to report the issue, someone was out there within 20 minutes to fix the problem! The pool was a good size and the kids loved the slide! The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and had two refrigerators. We were able to store enough food for the week. We were easily within driving distance to Nags Head, Kitty Hawk, Cape Hatteras, and Roanoke Island. We would recommend this rental for anyone looking for good value on a beachfront property!

Ocean Tranquility

  • 4 of 5

This "off the beaten track" beach house was just what we needed for a family vacation. We had an unusually great weather week and enjoyed waking up to the "Beach music" each day. While we appreciated the improvements that had been added to Seaquester, we hope that trend will continue to enhance this home.

Vacationing at the Seaquester!

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a great vacation week at the Seaquester in September! The Seaquester was everything we hoped for in a beach house. The home is a short walk out the back door and you're on the beach. The home is spacious and more than adequately stocked to make you feel at home. The home was clean and well maintained. Nick the caretaker responded when the coffee pot cracked and replaced it within hours of our call. The whole family enjoyed the pool and slide and our labs loved running and playing on the beach and in the surf. I would highly recommend this beach home to friends and family. The adult "kids" asked me to reserve for next September already! We are a family with adult children and one grandchild (so far).

Great Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Our extended family (and 2 dogs) spent a week at the Seaquester and had a fabulous time! The property is well kept, clean, and spacious - there was more than enough room for the 8 of us. The added refrigerator and TVs in the bedrooms were nice additions from last year. The view of the ocean from the deck is spectacular. We enjoyed the beach every day (as did the dogs - who are allowed on the beach all day long). The pool was great for the kids, and they really enjoyed the slide! The pool was cleaned the day we arrived and mid-week as well, which was a nice touch. The owners were extremely cooperative and helpful before and during our stay. This was our second stay at the Seaquester and we would not hesitate to stay there again - we absolutely loved it!!!
