True North is an outdoor adventurer’s perfect location! A newly renovated condo in the Compass Bend complex located right next to the Snow’s Cut Boat Ramp. Just a short walk to the Carolina Beach State Park that has plenty of hiking/biking trails. It’s also an easy bike ride to several beach accesses and the charming Carolina Beach Boardwalk. (2 Bikes Provided!) With plenty of unique shops, restaurants, and sights, Pleasure Island provides a long list of things to see or do! Newly renovated with modern conveniences. Blue tooth speakers, Smart TVs in both the bedroom and den areas. The drink fridge is the coolest! One bedroom loft space with a King Bed. Queen Sleeper Sofa in the Den. Full kitchen set up with anything you need to make a meal and a beverage station that satisfies everyone’s tastes. Ample onsite parking spaces and can accommodate boat trailers. If bringing a boat please get clear instructions on how to park in the parking lot prior to your arrival. 2 Adult Bicycles available for your use. 2 Beach Chairs provided. Pet friendly for a slight fee. No size or breed restrictions but please limit to two animals. Please message the host when making your reservation for more information. Condo building is located in a beautiful residential part of the island. Close to everything. This is a pet friendly unit. We maintain the highest standards of cleaning but anyone with animal allergies please be aware. Again, this is not a beach side property. It is a very short bike ride to the beach access. Bike and golf cart rentals are available. There is also a golf cart taxi that can take you back and forth for $5 per person. All local business information is in our guest info book. We are local and can be easily reached.

True North is a destination! It has everything you’ll need and is close to great restaurants and shopping. It’s nice and cozy with all the space you and your fur babies will need. We’ll be back.

We enjoyed our weekend stay. A great pet friendly place with enough seclusion to feel you are away from the hustle and bustle of the commercial beach area but close enough to get there within just a few minutes. Owners make sure their guests are well taken care of and offer lots of amenities. Not a place for those who struggle with stairs but perfect for my husband , daughter, and I to to stay with our dog. So easy to walk the dog to the boat ramp and a short hop in the car to more dog friendly walking trails at Carolina Beach State Park.

Nice place and location

The condo was very nice and clean.It was also in a great location.The host had thought of everything and they’re were a lot of nice touches like snacks and coffee.We had a great time and will definitely be back!

Amazing getaway

Me and my husband live taking what we call our daycations just getting away from our busy work life this was an amazing relaxing trip the rental was by far perfect we will definitely come back

Just what we needed

The apartment was perfect for what we needed. We wanted to stay in a quiet laid back place for a few days and that's exactly what True North provided. Will definitely be back. And Amy and Brandon were so helpful and answered any questions we had.

How amazing is this !!! Clean clean clean !! It was perfect and enough space for me and my husband and pup. Communication with property owners were great, quick, and super friendly. Will def stay here again!

We absolutely LOVED this place. It was so cute and perfect for our little family. My husband and I couldn’t stop saying how cute it was. Very clean. Had everything you needed. Owners were super easy to communicate with and very hospitable!

True North is a true bargain.

True North was an awesome place. The owner was very helpful. We were very impressed with the area. The Snow's Cut boat ramp is just a short walk away. Carolina Beach State Park or the Carolina Beach Boardwalk is about a 6 minute drive away. You definitely get your money's worth with this location. We are already looking forward to staying there again.

Great quiet place

Amy was very helpful the property was exactly as the listing made it sound. No surprises. Very quiet neighborhood with little traffic on the street. The condo was well stocked with all the essentials with close by shopping and restaurants. Will be looking to do it again in the future.

Wonderful Trip! 10/10

We had such a great time staying at True North for the past few days. The space was perfect for me, my husband and our 2 dogs. The pictures are true to the space and I think it’s actually more spacious than I expected. The neighbors were friendly and the neighborhood is nice & quiet. It was nice to take the short walk to the boat ramp and enjoy the scenery. The check in/out process was very easy and efficient and we had great communication with the host. Thank you Amy & Brandon for our beautiful stay!

Lovely getaway, not haunted, sorry ghost enthusiasts JK

We stayed here for our annual fishing trip. The place was clean, cute, and the owners were in touch but didn't hover. We loved the loft. We had an exciting first night when the humidity made one of the canvas prints fall off the wall. Sorry to report, no ghosts for ghost enthusiasts. Thanks for letting us stay at your place. We will be recommending this rental to others.

great stay at pleasure island

The condo was lovely. Our hosts were welcoming and helpful.They made us feel like family. From the lovely linens, to the tastefully decorated space. We received a book on where the nice places were to visit.The condo is only 10 minutes fr Kure Beach and 4 or 5 min to Carolina Beach. Shopping...a hop skip and a jump. My husband and the boys went fishing. Caught a few bass.Made his day. Plus theres a lovely walking boat dock behind the building. It was lovely at night. We'd go back there in a NY minute.

It was a nice condo and we had a nice trip, but there was an overwhelming odor of cigarettes in the unit (i think a neighbor was smoking indoors) and many of the dishes in the kitchen were left dirty when we arrived. When I arrived back at home, all of my clothes smelled of cigarette smoke after only 2 nights. I can't say I would consider booking here again- but it was not terrible.

Great Little Hide Away

This was a super clean, updated, cozy little get away. The neighborhood was very quite....we loved all the boats turning at the corner to go to the boat ramp. It had everything we needed & our doggies loved it. Only two things I would like to mention is 1) There is some metal type holder sticking out of pole as you go up stairs closest to parking lot. With not much light, my mom ran right into it hard with her shoulder. You might want to get that taken down. Other is maybe more comfy chairs to sit in on the porch. Again we loved our stay and hope to come back!!

So glad we picked this place!

Hands down 6 stars! This was a much needed getaway for us, and was absolutely perfect for a beach weekend. The bikes were a HUGE perk, we literally didn't move the truck or pay for parking the whole weekend. All you need is a backpack and a small cooler and you're set for the beach. Walking or biking distance to the grocery store and Walgreens, beach, and restaurants. We so appreciated the water and snacks upon arrival, and checking in was super easy. The ice maker is awesome too! True North is immaculate, tastefully decorated and well maintained, and the location is perfect for beach, dining, shopping, boating. The neighbors are quiet and friendly. Parking is easy and convenient and the neighborhood is quiet. We do vacation rentals quite often to make a long distance military relationship work, and True North is absolutely on our list of top 3 stays. We will absolutely come back if we're in the area again!

WFH Getaway

I decided to change the scenery for my WFH situation and packed my pup up and headed to Carolina Beach! True North was the perfect size and felt so much like home. The neighbors were super kind and the location made walking my dog even better. True North is not far from the marina where I spent most mornings and evenings. This condo does not sit on the beach, however it’s not far at all. While many people complain about paying for parking, I didn’t mind driving to the boardwalk to visit the beach. Amy is the best host and was highly communicative! I’m happy I got to experience their amazing property and hospitality!

Weekend Getaway

The rental was wonderful. Clean, cozy, great TV options, snacks etc. The trails right next to the dwelling is a wonderful surprise for both human and hound; the river is an added luxory. I wish the beach had been a bit closer, but having the state park right there was great. I recommend this rental to all! Thank you! heather and ollie

Wonderful, cozy getaway.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay here with our dog. Convenient location to an off-leash beech, and some great places to eat. Will be coming back.
