This lodge is fabulous!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary at this beautiful lodge with our four children (from four different states) and their families. There was room for all of us after adding a couple of air mattresses for children. The lodge is beautifully decorated and is in a lovely North Georgia setting. It was clean and well maintained. There is plenty of deck space to eat outside or to just sit and enjoy nature. It's approximately 8 miles from Amicalola Falls State Park, one of Georgia's prettiest. Ellijay isn't too far away if you need to make a trip to a grocery store or a restaurant. Kirk, the owner, was very helpful in answering questions and returned calls and emails in a timely manner. Thank you, Kirk. Our family had a wonderful stay at your lodge. We highly recommend this lodge. Jane and Dillard Wilbanks

Perfect property for large families with adult children

  • 5 of 5

My family held our reunion at The Lodge at Summit Ridge just outside of Ellijay, GA mid-July. It was the perfect accommodations for my elderly parents, their 4 grown, married children, 10 of their 11 grandchildren (4 of which are married) and 2 great-grandchildren to spend 4 days together. The set up for this home was fantastic since it has 5 separate bedroom areas which gave each family unit our own space with a full bath to retreat to for naps, work time or private discussions. The seating options were plentiful, though our large group of 23 adults and two toddlers couldn't quite fit around the 2 large Farm tables, but did we fun trying! There was plenty to do in the area for all the different age groups with several options for hiking, tubing and whitewater rafting. My parents, enjoyed swinging on the large wrap around porch, watching for the young adventurers to come "home" from their daily excursions. Shopping was close by, which was nice since we each took a night to cook a main meal. The kitchen was well stocked with everything that we needed to make the meals a success. The evenings found us laughing, playing games, singing & putting puzzles together, but as the some family peeled off for their separate spaces, others could still enjoy the common areas of the house and porch without disturbing those that wanted sleep. Then the adult grandchildren loved slipping into the large jacuzzi for a late night soak while relishing the quiet time they had for reconnecting with each other. Oh, did I mention 2 sets of washing machines with dryers on different floors (though the main level dryer was broken when we were there)? Those sure came in handy with all of the hiking, river-watered clothes and toddler messes! The home owner, Kirk was easy to communicate with and very good about returning calls and emails. Thank you, Kirk for allowing my family to utilize your beautiful home for our family reunion. It was such a blessing!

Wonderful home in the mountains

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful home! It had everything you could possibly think of! We had 15 family members from Ohio and Florida meet for Memorial Day weekend and there was room for everyone with more to spare. I loved the peace and quiet of the woods in the morning and the outdoor fireplace that we enjoyed each night. Thank you Kirk! It was wonderful!!

Mountain perfection

  • 5 of 5

I rented this cabin to surprise my husband for his 50th birthday. While he figured out we'd be staying the weekend at a cabin, he didn't figure it would be large enough for our closest friends to join for the entire weekend! More than enough space for 6 couples and a couple of kids--even had a crib and pack and play for our infant to sleep in. We had lots of chefs in the kitchen and loads of prep space--we could even all sit down for meals at the same time. The hot tub was amazing and everyone had time to spend in it. We will definitely be back as this was a wonderful way to spend a weekend away from the hustle and bustle of the city, close enough so we didn't spend too much time on the road and comfortable enough for everyone to have space to stretch out. Thanks, Kirk!

Great for Large Groups

  • 5 of 5

Our family stayed at this cabin for Christmas. Kirk, the owner, was very nice and flexible. There was plenty of space for everyone in our family. We particularly enjoyed the large dining room table. We had 14 adults sit comfortably. The hot tub is amazing. It's removed enough from everything to be relaxing, but close enough to a supermarket that we were able to make a run for a few things we forgot. Overall, it was an awesome getaway for our group!

Our vacation was very nice!

First of all, the cabin is very pretty. The owner loves his cabin, is a very good communicator, and was helpful anytime we needed anything or had any questions.

We had several toddlers and small children with us and it didn't even dawn on me to bring a few baby gates (the bottom of two sets of stairs needed them) but we managed. The cabin is designed for privacy (I think! lol) and there were lots of doors that solved our baby gate forgetfulness and that was very nice.

I wanted to jot a few notes down about the bedrooms for anyone else who is curious:

- Walking in the front door, there is a small bedroom to your left up a flight of stairs. It has its own bathroom, a small storage room, and cubbies for your clothes. The bed is a twin bed with a twin trundle bed tucked underneath. (Both very comfortable. All of the beds in the cabin were very comfortable.)

- On the main level, you go down a flight of stairs and will find a laundry room, a bathroom, a small bedroom with a full size/twin size bunk bed set (there's not a picture) and also a large master bedroom with a king bed, fireplace, and double doors leading out to a small patio.

- The main level also has a large master suite with a private bathroom and doors leading out to the outdoor fireplace area. Close to this bedroom is a mudroom area with laundry, half bath, lots of cubbies and benches. There is a door that leads to the front and also to the back porch. The back porch/wrap around porch are wonderful areas with the outdoor fireplace and very nice jacuzzi and chairs all around for relaxing.

- There is another lower level with a private bedroom and bathroom (queen bed I think) and doors leading out to another patio area.

- The top level is the final large bedroom with two separate twin beds and a full size/twin size bunk bed set. It has a private bath and a large closet. The room is ALSO the game room and has a pool table and a tv. (This room would not be great for a dad who needs sleep.)

All of the great reviews are very true. This cabin is secluded and very nice. It's a good quiet getaway place for a large group.

A few more notes:

- There is not a place for small toddlers to play outside safely. The cabin is on the edge of a hill so we walked down the hill to an adorable little creek and the kids played there.

- The hill going up to the cabin is very steep so you will need to hit the gas pretty hard. We had several vans and small cars that made it.
