Please come and enjoy Pondering Pines Cabin in historic Twain Harte, California, only 2.5 hours from the Bay Area.
Our cabin is one of the original cabins built in 1937.
Our peaceful redwood cabin shares the property with two giant Ponderosa Pine trees. We are located on one of the most beautiful and quiet streets in Twain Harte, just a few blocks away from downtown shops , pee wee golf and restaurants.
The neighboring cabins are only used by the owners which keeps our area very quiet. There is one VRBO cabin right across the street that would work great for extra family members.If you are interested I can give you the VRBO number.
Our cabin also has lots of space between the other cabins and only 3 cabins are located behind ours and they are on a private road! Plenty of room for kids to safely run around!
Pondering Pines Cabin sleeps 8 with 2 bedrooms, a sleeping loft that serves as a third bedroom and two full bathrooms. The upstairs bedroom has a queen and a twin bed. The downstairs bedroom has a queen and twin bed also. The loft has two twins and one full bathroom upstairs and one downstairs as well.

Many Californians know Twain Harte as an excellent vacation destination for families. Some of our renters are third generation Twain Harte vacationers! Pondering Pines Cabin also features lake membership. Great memories can be made spending sunny days on the beach at Twain Harte Lake. Twain Harte Lake is a large swimming lake with fishing, diving boards and water slides. There is a full snack bar that serves everything from burgers and fries to snow cones and ice cream! http://www.thlake.org Winter days can be spent at Dodge Ridge Ski Resort just a ways up the highway.https://www.dodgeridge.com

Robert , the host did EVERYTHING Right with no room for improvement! His willingness to communicate in an expedited fashion was the BEST I’ve ever experienced! On a side note , I had my houses here in Florida listed on VRBO for years and I served as Host to my guests and I must say I thought I was attentive until I came upon Robert - I actually pale in comparison! I highly recommend this property and would happily return. Many Thanks to Robert for surpassing all my many expectations!

Had a great stay at the Pondering Pines cabin. Did not know what to expect for an almost 100 year old cabin, but it actually exceeded our expectations! It was well taken care of and well stocked with everything we needed to make ourselves at home. I love a kitchen I can cook in and have everything I need to make a great meal! Nice walk to town to grab coffee and a meal.Will definitely look into renting again.

Thank you for the great review! We surely lucked out when we bought the cabin as she was well cared for over the years and we continue to keep her in great shape. Cabins like this that were among the first cabins built in Twain Harte were built using the best lumber as I was told by a carpenter in the area. I hope you guys will return this summer! I can recommend many great hikes that we have been on and some nice fishing areas also. I also offer a 10% discount to return renters for a 3 or more night stay! Thanks again!

Annual family trip

Quiet Cabin

The cabin was great, very clean, we loved it. We spent a lot of time on the deck. The neighborhood was so quiet and it is so close to town. The beds were comfy, we all slept well and the bathrooms were nice. The cabin was creaky, but it was part of the charm. And finally the owners were really great, communication was really good. Thank again for letting us stay.

Comfy and Inviting Cabin

A perfect spot for a family. Comfortable cabin and close to everything. Wrap around deck is especially inviting in the summer. The host made sure we had everything we needed - which we did!

Great Stay Here

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Pondering Pines cabin. The cabin has a nice rustic feel, fully equipped kitchen, large deck area and a short walk to downtown Twain Harte. Robert was a very attentive, responsive host. We appreciated the activity suggestions, restaurant recommendations and other details that helped make our vacation memorable.

Peaceful Getaway

We found this cabin to meet all of our expectations. It was very peaceful and our family had a great time bonding. Robert was available to answer any questions and provided great recommendations on places to visit. Will look forward to staying there again soon.

The cabin is right at snow elevation so while we don't get a ton of snow right at the cabin(makes it easy to get to the cabin) it's only a 10 minute drive to plenty of snow for play and 30 minutes to the ski slopes. Charmingly rustic cabin in the trees

Walking distance to town, but tucked away in a quiet neighborhood among the trees. Comfortable beds, a cozy fireplace, and deer to watch out the window. Robert was very helpful and easy to get ahold of when we had questions. A great place to stay in a wonderful little town.

This is a wonderful traditional Twain Harte Cabin. The check in process was clear and easy. The owners were knowledgeable and forthcoming with information about the area and activities. The cabin was well stocked and supplied.

Everyone should experience this cabin!

We had the best time staying at this lovely cabin. Robert was a wonderful host who stayed in touch the whole time. Our children LOVED the cabin and the many games available for them to play. The lake was perfect. We will definitely be returning in the future.

We live in Petaluma Ca. I've worked as a garbageman for the last 40 years in San Francisco and my wife is a stay at home mom. We look forward to your stay. My family has been vacationing in Twain Harte for about 15 years now. We were looking for a vacation place that had everything. Twain Harte is that place. Twain Harte offers a beautiful swimming and fishing only lake , restaurants within walking distance, Pee Wee golf, hiking trails , golf course and movies in the park only a few hours from the bay area. Snow skiing and much more. Its been a long time dream of mine to own my own vacation place in the mountains. With the support of my wife we were able to make it work. With the support of our great renters we are able to continue!

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

Our cabin is located on a very quiet street yet its within walking distance to restaurants , pee wee golf and your morning coffee and fresh baked scone! Its has a large deck and sits on about 1/4 of an acre.We spend every morning having coffee on the deck and every evening bbqing and enjoying our great view as the sun sets.
Deer can often be seen coming up from the creek down the hill behind the cabin.The creek is too far to hike to. Sorry kids :) On the nights we get back too late from the lake or playing in the snow we often walk to town for a bite at one of the local restaurants. 'The Rock' is very popular!The cabin was built in 1937 but has all the comforts of home. YES! It has central heat !!! We love Twain Harte and we love our cabin. I know you will too. NO PETS ALLOWED
