Visiting Paris is like entering a dream world. Vacationing in our charming 1635 pied-a-terre on Ile St-Louis is truly living the dream in style. The Old World elegance, the beautiful period antiques and the mere history of this hotel particulier transports you to another time while you continue to enjoy all of the modern amenities that will ensure a comfortable stay.
Our apartment is located on a lovely and privileged residential street along the river Seine. Each time you walk out into the courtyard and open the main carriage door to explore the best parts of Paris, you are suddenly overwhelmed by the beauty of the Seine, the ancient trees lining the quai and the magnificent architecture that graces the Right Bank. The two stone bridges that frame this picturesque view are pure romance. You will see boats glide across the river and hear the guides telling dreamy-eyed passengers to make a wish as they pass under the 17th Century Pont Marie. Yes, wishes and dreams do come true here on Ile moment.
The island itself is a magical oasis, a very special little village boasting authentic Parisian cafes, art galleries, boutiques, antique shops and book sellers. You shall never hunger nor thirst as the island offers some of the best in epicurean provisions: patisseries and boulangeries (pastry and bake shops), an award-winning boucherie (butcher shop), a delightful fromagerie (cheese shop), wine purveyors, primeurs (fresh fruit and vegetable markets), epiceries (grocery stores), chocolate shops, a fleuriste (flower shop) and, of course, the famous Berthillon ice cream. The many restaurants located on the Ile offer visitors a wide range of menu choices, including the 3-starred chef Antoine Westermann's masterful vegetable cookery at his highly acclaimed Mon Viele Ami and the quietly sophisticated l'Orangerie with chef Michel del Burgo, formerly 3-starred at le Bristol, Taillevent and Moscou, directing the kitchen. For the 'freshest sushi in Paris' head to Isami located on the south side of the island. At dusk, stroll across the pedestrian bridge connecting Ile St-Louis to the neighboring Ile de la Cite, capturing a wonderful view of Notre Dame's dramatic flying buttresses and the lovely gardens below. You will usually find live entertainment on this pedestrian a lively string quartet, a creole jazz band or traditional French accordion melodies as you take in the glorious panoramic river views to the east and west. As the surrounding bridges, the towers and the grand palace of Hotel de Ville are gradually illuminated you find yourself standing in a live picture postcard. There is simply not a more romantic place on this you must see for yourself.
The apartment at quai de Bourbon is a deliberate extension of the island's atmospheric magic. Located on the ground floor just off the main courtyard, this 'petite maison' of 44 square meters (roughly 500 square feet) embraces the true spirit of Ile St-Louis. Ancient tomettes - terracotta tiles reclaimed from 17th and 18th Century chateaux - set the tone for a warm and inviting palette of burnt red, golden ochre and celery green. The fabrics are luscious, the antiques tasteful and the decorative accessories absolutely charming. The shimmering crystal chandeliers and antique wall sconces may be dimmed to create the perfect romantic setting. This is your cue to chill the champagne!
The luxurious bedroom enrobed in silk and velvet is awash with the softest grays and baby blues to lull you to sleep. There is a spacious armoire to house your personal belongings and adequate bedside lamps for reading. Luxury bed linens, pretty antique prints and scented sachets create a relaxing respite after a full day of sightseeing and shopping.
You will discover a little taste of the Orient in the compact but efficient bathroom. The Chinese red of the cabinets accents the exposed beams and stone while 18th Century Japanese wood block prints decorate the lacquered walls along with antique Asian porcelain. The tower cabinet provides ample room for your personal items and also houses the collection of plush bath towels.
The cheerful kitchen with its blue and white toile de Jouy fabric and decorative tiles, painted red ceiling beams and ochre walls is fully equipped with everything you need to create a fabulous meal. If cooking isn't on your agenda, the fridge is always ready to chill your favorite bottle of champagne and the freezer available to hold several litres of Berthillon ice cream! Sample delicious espresso with the easy-to-use Nespresso machine. A full range of kitchen appliances, as well as a conventional washer and dryer are all provided with simple instructions for use.
Cable television, CD player/stereo, WiFi high-speed fibre internet service and a well-stocked Paris travel library help keep you entertained, informed and in touch.
We welcome you to a world of comfort, luxury, history and romance. Come be our guests for 'A Fine Taste of Paris'.

Perfect Spot, convenient to so much
For anyone looking for a centrally located place to stay during a Paris stay, this was perfect. There are restaurants, bakeries and scenic tourist spots so close. The apartment is also convenient to metro stops that take anyone easily up to the Champs Elysee and other downtown locations. The apartment is perfect for a couple to enjoy a Paris stay. The apartment provides visitors the option of dining out or dining in (whether bringing food in or cooking in the apartment).
I did not want to leave!
This beautiful apartment on lÎle-Saint-Louis is as lovely in person as it is in the photos. Located just across the Seine, it was thrilling to walk across the bridge admiring the view and imagining that I was returning to my little "chez moi." Despite it being usually cold in Paris -- complete with la neige -- the apartment was comfortably warm, even at night. It was clean, and even had a complete sewing kit at my disposal (not just those mini spools of thread). Though I did not need to use it, a full size iron and ironing board were also available. I did make use of the washer and dryer, and they worked beautifully. The bed was extremely comfortable, with nice linens. The apartment was centrally located in the heart of Paris, and I loved being able to walk so much in the city. My regret was that I could not spend more time there -- and that I had to leave!
A Very Special Apartment and the Perfect Paris Address
My husband and I spent our 20th wedding anniversary at this wonderful apartment and we can't wait to book another stay at this special property! The ambience was just as it appeared in the photographs, old world charm with lots of lovely antiques and personal touches that made it feel like home during our stay. The greeter was very charming and helpful during the check-in and orientation and we felt safe and well-cared for throughout our vacation. The apartment was very peaceful and yet the hustle and bustle of Ile St. Louis was just one street behind our quiet residential quai. It was always such a pleasure to return to the apartment after a busy day of sightseeing and relax with a cocktail or glass of wine before heading back out for dinner. Then back home to a guaranteed good night's rest in the comfy and quiet bedroom. We couldn't have picked a better location and host to celebrate our 20th! Thank you for making the occasion so special in every way.

Even better than we imagined. OUTSTANDING!
Although we have been to Paris on several occasions, this was our first time to rent an apartment. We were a bit nervous to book a private apartment, but any hesitation we had immediately dissolved the moment we arrived at our beautiful home away from home, so perfectly situated on the very magical Isle Saint Louis, right in the very middle of Paris and all the tourist attractions. Everything we wanted to see and do was simply a pleasant stroll away or easily accessible by the several nearby metro stations and the bus stop just across the bridge. You actually wouldn't even have to leave the island if you didn't want to, as there was everything one might need or desire during a full week's stay: convenient grocery stores, several bakeries, 2 butcher shops, 2 cheese mongers, a superb vegetable stand, Nicolas wine shop, a florist, lots of art galleries, a great variety of charming restaurants, wonderful gift boutiques, a bank, ATM machines and a post office and, of course, the world famous Berthillon ice cream available at several windows (as well as the equally delicious gelato at Amorino). This was by far our best trip to Paris and the best accommodations we could have imagined. So glad we took a chance on this apartment and this perfect location. Bundles of gratitude to our hosts. We will be back again and again! Merci!
The Most Wonderful Parisian Experience!
All we can say is MERCI for a wonderful Paris vacation! From the ease, pleasure and promptness of dealing with the property manager, the confident and secure payment method, the super list of sightseeing and dining suggestions ------ to our entire stay in this beautifully appointed and well-maintained apartment in the very center of Paris, it was a dream come true. We will be returning again and again to this perfectly situated and lovely apartment on Ile St. Louis.
The ideal Paris hideaway
The apartment is everything you imagine a Paris hideaway might be: tucked away just steps away from the Seine embankment, on a courtyard just off the Quai des Bourbons, wooden shutters to keep it private, and inside, a comfortable retreat that you are always happy to come home to. The interior has an air of slightly faded tastefulness that entirely suits the neighbourhood—chandeliers and armoires and antiques and artworks (stone flooring, Renaissance images on the walls, and even a stuffed heron on top of an armoire, patches of exposed brickwork, mismatched decorative plates on the ancient beams)—but it comes with all modern conveniences, everything artfully deployed to take maximum advantage of the available space, with a fully functional kitchen and a spick-and-span bathroom (the place is kept in immaculate condition, and greeter Frederic is always ready to help; he’s also maitre d’hotel at a great little restaurant close by, which is convenient). We stayed at this apartment for a week and couldn’t have been happier. Living on this lovely little island is quintessentially Paris: up early to the boulangerie for the croissants and baguette (by the second day the counter lady had my order half-wrapped before I was through the door) and to the minimart for milk and butter and fruit (the owner and I became fast friends), the best ice-cream in Paris (Berthillon: expensive, but intense flavors), mouth-watering cheese stores, plus all the quaint little antiques and clothes and jewelery places, not to mention restaurants, that draw people to the island. The bridges will take you anywhere: across to Notre Dame, over to the Left Bank to explore the offerings of the bouquinistes and the student quarter, north to a couple of convenient Metro stops—as my wife the shopper put it, what’s not to like about an apartment where you’re just a few steps from a Metro stop that will take you directly to the interior of Galeries Lafayette? Walking back to the apartment in a light rain after an evening at a charming restaurant ... well, you could be living in a Woody Allen movie. Dreamy. We'll be back.
