What makes our unit unique? We have a Sleep Number bed. You can control the firmness of each side of the California King bed!
We also have a new XBOX in both the living room and bedroom.
1. Located on the 7th floor of the South tower, facing South (the sunny side of the building)

3. 1,000 square feet of space and our extra long lanai/deck overlooks the Whaler's Village next door which offers a variety of restaurants, shops, and activities.
4. Our lanai/deck has two chaise lounges and a cocktail height table and chairs so you look OVER the railing not through it.
5. Big Screen 4K HDTV in living room and HD flat screen in the bedroom with sound bar.
6. 4K XBOX & DVD player & DVR cable box (Digital Video Recorder) in living room & bedroom with Netflix/Hulu/Amazon account online access.

We have been visiting Hawaii for decades as a family. We were very excited to purchase this unit to share with others and continue to create more memories as our family grows.

Why Julie Cashin chose Kaanapali
We have always enjoyed what Maui offered and the Whaler is located in the perfect spot to have access easily just by walking. One thing we felt was important is that the beach area in front of the Whaler does not have coral or rocks. We think that was a plus for us and guest to safely enjoy the surf.
What makes this Condo unique
We have a Sleep Number bed shipped over from California. So our mattress will meet everyone's favorite firmness to feel just like home. We now have a new XBOX in both the living room and bedroom both with 2 wireless remotes. Watch your favorite movie via your own account on Netflix or Hulu, enjoy a DVD movie or play a favorite retro game that we have in our unit. Bring your own favorite games to unwind after a busy Maui day in the sun.

The condo was very nice, but there were some issues...
First the good - the condo was very nice; great location right on Kaanapali beach with easy beach access & ocean views, shopping, and restaurants near by. We found it to be well maintained and with many conveniences including full kitchen & refrigerator, nice furniture, newer TV's in the living room and bedroom, and a Sleep Number bed. The property had many nice amenities including pool & hot tub with ocean view and two excellent concierges. The room was also stocked with scuba gear, coolers and beach chairs, which we took advantage of. The property owner was also very helpful and responsive, contacting us multiple times before and during our stay to make sure everything was OK and to offer sightseeing suggestions on Maui. We also found the price to be reasonable for this area.
Now the bad - the condo directly above us was being remodeled during the time that we were there. At times, we were able to hear the workers conversations (and their power tools) as if they were in the same room with us. Then, on the Friday of the week that we were there, we woke up to find the tub and bathroom floor covered in concrete dust and construction debris. We did contact property manager and the front desk and they were reasonably prompt about cleaning it up. Based on the conversation between the property manager and the maintenance person from the Aston, I got the distinct impression that they had seen this kind of thing before. They took digital photos of the mess before they cleaned it up and told us that they would speak with the contractor who was doing the work and assured us that they would have the contractor cover the work area so that this would not happen again. Then, on Monday morning after the contractors returned to work, we woke up to find more concrete dust and nuts and bolts on the bathroom floor again. Maintenance was again prompt about cleaning it up and they did apologize for the inconvenience. On the Tuesday morning that we were packing up to leave, we were able to hear (who we presumed to be) the construction foreman having an animated discussion with the workers about the messes they created and covering their work area.
Thank you for this feedback. I only wish you had reached out to me so that I could have gotten involved during your stay. This is why I send over a "welcome" text so that you can easily contact me if there are any problems. When you replied back, you were having a wonderful time and told me about your sightseeing plans. From there, I generally don't like to bother my Guest so that they may enjoy their stay.
Unfortunately, you got to experience first hand how a Whaler Owner and/or Guest can be treated by the Whaler Homeowners Association. You would think they would require, on their pre-remodel checklist, a courtesy contact to the Owner directly below an upcoming remodel. It would include the scope of work, timeframe and who we should contact besides security with issues. There is always work being done on a property that size, and in most cases, it's not noticeable to anyone during their stay...... but the unit that is most affected by a remodel is the one right below. I was not made aware of the work until after you departed and when I did hear, thought it must have been ok because I never heard back from you otherwise. The work now should all but be completed and at least future guest won't have to worry about a remodel above our unit again. I do apologize for any inconvenience it may have caused you and will pass this along to the general manager and board members at the next meeting that I plan to attend at the end of May.
Always remember when you are staying in a vacation rental to feel free to contact the Owner directly with any concerns or problems. They are the best resource to have in your corner with property issues especially when those issues are both out of the Owner and/or Guest control.
Otherwise, I'm delighted to hear that you were having a wonderful time and that our unit had everything you needed for your stay. Also, I know my cleaning lady & property manager were able to assist you as well. Glad to hear you liked our Sleep Number bed and new 4K TV with the new XBOX. I know many guests enjoy logging into their entertainment accounts on the XBOX while on vacation to make it feel more like home. We will be doing our unit remodel this coming September 2018 and will be giving the Owner below us a respectful heads up prior to starting. I hope you will come stay with us again on your next visit to beautiful Maui and get a chance to enjoy our new upgrades! Have a wonderful summer.
Amazing Stay on the Best Beach! Perfectly located!
I had the privilege of Spending 10 days at this lovely condo! What more can I say? Julie is AWESOME to work with! She responds quickly, answers all your questions, and gives great suggestions.
This condo is EXACTLY as pictured and more. The views of the beach are breathtaking! Sunsets, rainbows, there's never a dull moment! The location is perfect. Restaurants , bars, snack shops, all within walking distance. The Whalers village is literally downstairs, so your always close to everything. Jacuzzi and heated pool right downstairs! Make sure to take short stroll north to Black Rock for some great snorkeling, or to take in a gorgeous sunset! Rent a car and drive north to check out the Blow Hole, and other scenic stops along the way. Drive south into Paia, or tackle the road to Hana! Its sooo worth the drive!
Oh also, They feed the fish every morning in the courtyard at 8:30...lots of fun for the kids !
Just book this condo, you wont be disappointed! Everything you need is already there...just add yourself!
This one bedroom unit is spacious, completely stocked, has a gorgeous view, and the owner is extremely helpful. We loved our stay and would highly recommend. The unit has all the snorkel gear, sand toys, coolers, chairs, and boogie boards! So helpful to have all this and not have to buy or rent it. Julie, the owner answered all my questions quickly and check in and check out is easy. We will definitely be back!
Happy to hear the family had such a wonderful time and enjoyed all the beach/snorkel gear along with all our little extras. I know when traveling with a family, it's nice to have a fully stocked kitchen when you want to stay in and enjoy the lanai views for a meal. This is a great unit with a view and well stocked.
This unit is perfectly situated for whale watching, beach watching and mountain views. The kitchen is very well stocked with everything necessary and the activity closet also had everything we could have asked for, from coolers to beach toys and chairs.
The bed is super comfy and the balance of the unit is clean and great. We were really happy here. One morning we watched with binoculars supplied in the unit for an hour as a mother and calf humpback played and jumped.
The pool and beach at the Whaler is second to none and the location to Whalers village means frozen yogurt everyday! What a great place!
The Full Package
This condo was definitely the full package. Beautiful view from the lanai, comfy couch with big screen tv, fully stocked kitchen, and the sleep number bed that awaited us every night was superb. We had a blast and can't wait to return. Truly a week in paradise. Thank you, Julie!
The photo of the view here is exactly what we enjoyed from our 7th floor lanai. The grills were great , and we enjoyed dinner on the lanai and the beautiful sunsets. The Sleep Number bed was very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. The Whaler property is very nice and well maintained. Loved walking to Starbucks in the morning and enjoyed being close to the shore whale watch boats.
