Thank you so much! We are so thrilled to hear that you loved your visit to Four Ski-Sons Chalet -- that truly means the world to us!
We would love to welcome you back -- whether at Four Ski-Sons Chalet or one of our other cabins -- the next time the Smokies are calling your name. We hope to see you back in Gatlinburg very soon!
The listing for this place is not accurate. It is not private and also not quiet. The sky tram wakes you up every morning. There is no privacy since the sky tram is going at all hours that Ober mountain is open. The driveway is also extremely hard to get up, my mom joined us and was not even able to get her Lexus SUV up and had to park at the bottom of the driveway on the side of the road and then walk up the driveway, which isn’t good for someone who has had two knee replacements. On top of this, there are about 15-20 signs the owners have put up throughout the house that are very off putting. It is clear that they only want your money and they don’t actually want you to “make yourself at home.” None of the signs were actually helpful to the renter. I felt like a child, there was even a sign about putting the shower liner into the shower. One particular sign was the one above the thermostat about not changing it above or below 70, whether is was on heat or AC stating it was “locked” at this temperature. It also states to open a window if you get hot/cold. The windows themselves have a sign saying not to open them due to bears, so basically if you are hot or cold, you might as well just leave the house altogether. I have a chronic disease and a symptom of it is not being able to control my body temperature. This is something that SHOULD have been listed in the description of the house because we would have NEVER rented it if it had been.Lot more to say, character limit.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share this feedback, and we sincerely apologize for the frustrations and discomfort you experienced during your stay at Four Ski-Sons Chalet. Please know that we take every concern you have raised very seriously and we are truly sorry that this stay fell short of the experience you deserved.
You make a completely valid point about the sky tram and we understand how the noise and activity level could feel at odds with the expectation of a quiet and private retreat. We will be taking a closer look at how the property is described in our listing to make sure future guests have a clear and accurate picture of what to expect before they arrive.
We also sincerely apologize for the difficulty with the driveway and the impact that had on your mother. That is not a situation any guest should have to navigate and we will be looking into how we can better communicate the driveway conditions so that guests can plan accordingly.
Regarding the signage throughout the cabin, we genuinely appreciate your candid feedback. While the intention behind the signs has always been to help guests feel informed and to protect the property, we completely understand how the volume and tone of them could feel unwelcoming rather than helpful. That is never the experience we want our guests to have and we will be addressing this right away.
We also hear you regarding the thermostat limitations and we are truly sorry that this was not disclosed upfront, particularly given your health needs. That is something that absolutely should be communicated clearly in the listing description and we will make sure that is corrected immediately.
We would welcome the opportunity to speak with you directly about your experience and to make things right. We hope that despite this stay you will give the Smokies another chance someday and that we can show you the warm and welcoming experience that every Mountain Laurel Chalets guest deserves.
