Great place to stay

Our family enjoyed our stay so much. I have had a lot of health issues the last 2 years so this was a much needed vacation for our family. We highly recommend Thank you very much

We had a great stay here. Rooms were comfy and we had plenty of space. The small lagoon area was nice. Stayed shallow for a large area. Kitchen was well supplied for cooking. We stayed over the 4th of July. We were able to see many fireworks from Gulf Shores. The pier official ones, along with private ones being set off along Little Lagoon. Overall a great week!

Great for family!

The house had plenty of room. We loved the outside porch and the little private beach area was perfect for our grandbabies. The water was shallow and they were able to build sandcastles and even saw a crab and some hermit crabs. we had a great time and would highly recommend.

Peaceful family vacation spot!

My family and I were in search of a property that we could relax and spend some quality time together and visit some family in the area that we haven’t seen in a while and this place definitely provided that! With the property being on Little Lagoon, it was off the main Gulf which was nice because it was more chill than being on the main beach area. It was very clean and we had plenty of space for everyone to spread out and hang out when we weren’t exploring the area and visiting family. I would definitely recommend this place for those wanting a peaceful place to stay close to the main beach and tourist areas but not directly in the busy areas! If we come back, we’d stay here again!

Gene's Mermaid was the perfect house for our stay. We loved the location. It's conveniently close to all the things but secluded enough to be in our our own space. It was clean and comfortable. The kitchen has about everything you could need. The kids loved playing in the lagoon. It was clean and shallow -- only knee high for about 100 yards. 200 yards to get chest high. We loved our stay and hope to come back someday!

Nice, relaxing stay

Home was clean and looked like pictures. We enjoyed fishing from the very shallow water and catching crabs. Nice place to curl up and read a book. Neighbor was kind as well.

Perfect House

Overall we had a wonderful stay! The house was clean and provided everything we needed for our stay. The view from the screened in porch was wonderful. The kids were able to swim & fish in the little lagoon. It was perfect if you didn't want to go to the beach everyday. We did visit the beach access off Mobile Street about 4 minutes down the road. The beach area was great. The entrance to the driveway is a little hard to find & see at first and at night time. It could use a little something to stand out at the street. We would absolutely stay here again.

Lovely home just perfect for our family vacation

We stayed here for a week with our children and grandchildren (5 adults and 2 small children). The layout of the home was perfect. The beds were comfortable. The view from the living area/screened porch just can’t be beat! The kitchen was the best equipped kitchen of any rental we’ve ever stayed at. The small beach area just down the stairs was perfect for our kiddos (6 and 3 years old). We all enjoyed floating and relaxing in the shallow water. We did have one problem with the TV, and the property managers responded right away to fix the problem. We highly recommend this lovely home.

Good Location - Not so clean house

Overall it was a decent stay. House was clean(ish), shower heads were molded and hadn't been cleaned in a quite some time. Listing states "plenty of parking under the house" - This would have been true had there not been a pontoon boat and dilapidated mini van parked under one side and in the driveway which is barely a driveway... would not pick this house again..

Great for kids!

Location on Little Lagoon made for a safe swimming area for the littles. Deck view is gorgeous! Kitchen well-appointed.

Lovely Lagoon Vacation

My whole family enjoyed the stay. House had plenty of space, towels, and fun activities. We enjoyed the shallow water off the dock. My daughter caught dozens of hermits crabs, a few lizards, and a crab or two. Water was warm early in the season which was nice. Water was calm and clear when the wind wasn’t too bad. Everyone wants to return again next year.

Mermaids Cottage great view, gorgeous home.

Location on the Lagoon is perfect! Mermaids home is very comfortable. Pictures are accurate. Location on the highway is too near a curve especially pulling a trailer. Driveway is not easy to locate needs a sign or something to catch your eye. Mermaid's gravel driveway needs grading! Dock is for sunbathing not docking a boat. Water in lagoon is too low with very short pier. Owners' car blocked two parking spaces under home and Hobie Cat is taking a third parking spot. Our Harley Trike got 4th spot. Car went in yard. Screen porch is solidly built, comfortable, furnished nice, but floorboards allowed gnats inside which bit me. Screen door did not fit door frame also allowing bugs inside. Garbage cans have no lids which wild animals enjoyed by spreading the last tenant's trash across the front yard. Toilets are super low and tiny made to train 2-year-olds. We would stay again just for the home and the view. Parking on the beach is $15 everyday everywhere.

Second summer

We enjoyed our stay so much last year that we booked another summer at this beautiful home. Everything was clean. Great location. Well equipped. Booking process and check in/check out was easy. I can’t say anything negative about this place! My family and I just love it and are excited to come back!

We loved it.

Our family of 7 enjoyed everything about this house. We fished and swam everyday. And it’s so local to everything. Everything was there as stated. Hopefully to come back and enjoy Ft. Morgan more.

Great for Families

The home was decorated in the cutest way and was the perfect set up for families. The screened in porch on the back overlooking the lagoon was beautiful, great to enjoy morning coffee and to sit and enjoy lunch with the family. The kitchen was well stocked as well. Martha was super easy to communicate with. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend!

Family get away

A little hard to find especially at night. Definitely keep it in your gps.other wise very clean and a perfect home for a family vacation. It had a ton of kitchen gear and amenities. We will be back!!!

Perfect Family Getaway

This house while a bit hard to find was amazing for our family vacation. The kids loved the small beach and my oldest daughter and I spent our time on the large screened porch. We will definitely come back.

Sparkling clean rental

This house might have been the cleanest rental we’ve been in! The location was nice & quiet! I like that we didn’t have to drive thru traffic on the busy strip to go places. I love the privacy of staying on the lagoon! The kids loved the calmness of the lagoon rather than the rough gulf. We wished there was a a kayak or two to use in the lagoon. Also, the mattresses are uncomfortable. Other than that our stay was really nice! Thank you for having us!

Will not be returning.

I’ll copy below my check out text to the property manager: In case you want it, I did have a little feedback. The garbage cans were completely filled when we arrived, and on Monday when we went to put our trash out the cans were already filled, and smelled awful and were full of maggots. I don't think that it should be on the incoming tenants or renters to pull garbage loads of other peoples trash to the curb. Also no one ever came to clean the grill. The Wi-Fi and TV did not work our entire stay. Also no one ever came to fix the screen. We have stayed at a lot of properties and unfortunately this one just did not meet basic tenant standards. Just letting you know. Thanks for letting us stay in your home.
