About Lauren Kozlow

We built and participated in the design and construction of this home in the mountains between Livingston and Bozeman in 1995 as a place to raise our three children, then ages 9, 11 and 13. They are grown and live in NY, WA and MT. We are now retired and living in Livingston making our home available to vacation renters. This is a perfect spot for a quite retreat with a loved one and large enough for a family reunion. Lots of hills to climb and forest/creek to explore. One night we were wakened by a mama and baby moose feeding in the willows next to the tipi, we watched them in the moonlight for a long time. These are magical moments.

Lauren Kozlow purchased this house in 1995

Why Lauren Kozlow chose Yellowstone Country

We are only 20 minutes from the Yellowstone River and some of the world's best fly fishing and one hour from Yellowstone National Park. Bozeman is a half hour away and Livingston even closer. Bridger Bowl ski area is 40 minutes via Jackson Creek Road.

What makes this house unique

Having the mountains in our backyard and the creek to play in added a unique dimension to our children's lives. One could feel the peacefulness of the area as soon as one started the five-mile drive home after working in town all day. Sitting on the deck and watching the sunset is a moment to cherish. We are still in awe of the great beauty here and are very happy to share our home with our guests. The wildflowers in spring and summer cover the hillsides around the house. If you like bird watching the deck is a great place to sit with a bird book and binoculars. Moose feed on the willows down by the creek, black bear visit occasionally, deer are abundant and a herd of elk may wander through the property depending on the time of year. There is never a dull moment in nature at Aspen Hill Retreat.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We decided to have our annual girls vacation at Aspen Hill Retreat and it has been an amazing time. The cabin is beautiful and well cared for. Thank you for sharing this wonderful place. We saw a momma moose and her baby on hill above the teepee. Snow shoeing, cooking healthy food, hot tubing and most importantly have a cozy beautiful space to escape the "real world" and enjoy each others company has made this a trip we'll never forget!! Happy New Year!

Our Spring Vacation was awesome.

  • 5 of 5

There was 14 of us and our dogs too. I was wonderful being able to take our dogs. My son is a disabled vet and has a service dog and he would not of attended if dogs were not allowed. Loved having the large dinning area for meals, crafts and games. We also enjoyed the hot tub, it was pretty cool being able to smell the trees while we were sitting out side! Much nicer than a motel. Thanks again for a wonderful trip. And a special thanks to Lauren Kozlow, she was awesome and answered all of our questions, and even mailed back the dog food that we had forgotten.

I want to live at Aspen Hill

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for a place to stay in the Livingston area, look no further than Aspen Hill Retreat. It is set in a beautiful canyon that gets more wooded as you drive up the hill. The cabin was roomy, comfortable and clean with exceptional views of the mountains and forests that surround it. The sound of birds was so lovely we thought there was a speaker playing birds sounds in the bushes. The yard around the cabin was nicely landscaped with grass for the grandkids to play on and a new hot tub just a few steps up the hill in the back yard. We enjoyed the close proximity to Yellowstone and Livingston. We are already planning our next visit to Aspen Hill Retreat.

Breathtaking location

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved our stay at Aspen Hill Retreat. It was the quiet, secluded and relaxing place we were wanting. With plenty to do close by if you want to get out. We explored the beautiful property, took in sites nearby and finished most nights off with a dip in the hot tub. Lauren was very accommodating and has everything you need at the cabin. Thanks again for such a wonderful vacation...one of my all time favorites!

Very nice

  • 4 of 5

Wonderful time in Montana. House was lovely and enjoyed our stay there. It was a bit more remote then we had expected. Also, since it sits on the side of a mountain, expect lots of steps. Still it was a great week.

More than you expect!

  • 5 of 5

Our five night stay at Aspen Hill was simply amazing. The VRBO site made it look good, but does not do it justice. The house is beautiful, warm, comfortable, accomadating...all to the highest marks.

Lauren has thought of everything also. There was nothing lacking. We even found a first aid kit in the pantry for a slight cooking injury:)

The house and grounds were meticulously kept. Our family gathering of 18 fit very comfortably for a dinner party.

Thank you so much Lauren for opening your family home...we will cherish our family memories from there as well!

Awesome house !

  • 5 of 5

Love when I rent a house and all basics are there like spices, Pam, aluminum foil etc! The views on the way to house after the main turnoff are some of the prettiest we saw on our trip - what a gorgeous area of our great country!
