About Lauren Kozlow

We built and participated in the design and construction of this home in the mountains between Livingston and Bozeman in 1995 as a place to raise our three children, then ages 9, 11 and 13. They are grown and live in NY, WA and MT. We are now retired and living in Livingston making our home available to vacation renters. This is a perfect spot for a quite retreat with a loved one and large enough for a family reunion. Lots of hills to climb and forest/creek to explore. One night we were wakened by a mama and baby moose feeding in the willows next to the tipi, we watched them in the moonlight for a long time. These are magical moments.

Lauren Kozlow purchased this house in 1995

Why Lauren Kozlow chose Livingston

We are only 20 minutes from the Yellowstone River and some of the world's best fly fishing and one hour from Yellowstone National Park. Bozeman is a half hour away and Livingston even closer. Bridger Bowl ski area is 40 minutes via Jackson Creek Road.

What makes this house unique

Having the mountains in our backyard and the creek to play in added a unique dimension to our children's lives. One could feel the peacefulness of the area as soon as one started the five-mile drive home after working in town all day. Sitting on the deck and watching the sunset is a moment to cherish. We are still in awe of the great beauty here and are very happy to share our home with our guests. The wildflowers in spring and summer cover the hillsides around the house. If you like bird watching the deck is a great place to sit with a bird book and binoculars. Moose feed on the willows down by the creek, black bear visit occasionally, deer are abundant and a herd of elk may wander through the property depending on the time of year. There is never a dull moment in nature at Aspen Hill Retreat.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We decided to have our annual girls vacation at Aspen Hill Retreat and it has been an amazing time. The cabin is beautiful and well cared for. Thank you for sharing this wonderful place. We saw a momma moose and her baby on hill above the teepee. Snow shoeing, cooking healthy food, hot tubing and most importantly have a cozy beautiful space to escape the "real world" and enjoy each others company has made this a trip we'll never forget!! Happy New Year!

Our Spring Vacation was awesome.

  • 5 of 5

There was 14 of us and our dogs too. I was wonderful being able to take our dogs. My son is a disabled vet and has a service dog and he would not of attended if dogs were not allowed. Loved having the large dinning area for meals, crafts and games. We also enjoyed the hot tub, it was pretty cool being able to smell the trees while we were sitting out side! Much nicer than a motel. Thanks again for a wonderful trip. And a special thanks to Lauren Kozlow, she was awesome and answered all of our questions, and even mailed back the dog food that we had forgotten.

Love at first sight for our entire family!! This cabin is so spacious, cozy & family friendly. The smell of fresh pine, scenic views and wildlife seal the deal. Next time we hope to stay much longer. This place is a true memory maker!

Secluded Log Home in Paradise Valley

  • 5 of 5

Property exceeded expectations, photos do not do it justice. Family reunion with 7 adults and 2 dogs. Came for the solar eclipse and loved that we could watch it on the fabulous deck. So quiet and peaceful and large enough for everyone to spread out and be comfortable. Hot tub was a great treat as well. It's rare to find such a nice property that allows dogs. Kitchen was fully stocked, all we had to do was bring the food. Owner was excellent to deal with answering questions quickly. Would highly recommend if wanting to explore the Paradise Valley and less than 1 hr to Yellowstone North Entrance. Must go to the Montana Grizzly Encounter, just 10 minutes away. Livingston has great parks and brewpubs are excellent. Hoping to return again!
