Quiet cottage stay 2023
Tawas State Park and the local beaches are my favorite. This is within walking distance of the park and in a very quiet neighborhood. Lots to see in town, good food and lots to explore in the area. Much less crowded it think than the west side of the state.

Tawas Point Stay
The home was clean and updated and centrally located to the beach and the downtown area. The owners greeted us upon our arrival and texted to ensure our needs were met during our stay. We also enjoyed the fire pit. The homes sleeps 4 comfortably with a small adult child on the couch for a possible 5th person. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property to future visitors.

Tawas Point getaway
Lovely little cabin that is well appointed. The neighborhood is very quiet. It has a nice patio/deck with table/chairs that I found very nice to sit and have coffee and read to start the day. It is located a couple of miles from Tawas City but I found it to be a benefit to be away from hustle and bustle of a tourist area. However there is plenty to do in the area with nice bike paths and river kayaking in Oscoda.

Wonderful vacation home!
Home was spotless and located in lovely neighborhood. Easy bike ride to Tawas State Park and into Tawas on the paved bike trail. Surrounding beaches are Sandy and the water is clean. We will definitely stay again.

Relaxing weekend
The cottage was cute and clean. We enjoyed the location and quietness of the neighborhood. The fire pit was a nice touch. We enjoyed evening bonfires after spending the day at the state park. Denise was an attentive host. She checked in with me to make sure we had everything we needed. The only complaint was the beds need to be upgraded. They were hard to get in and out of because of the extremely soft and thick mattress topper. New mattresses would make this rental great. Overall, it was a nice experience.

Jim & Denise live in East Tawas Michigan in the summer and in Cape Coral Florida in the winter months. We both grew up in Michigan and absolutely love the summers here. We enjoy boating, biking and entertaining. We want to welcome guests to our vacation home and do everything we can to ensure a very pleasant stay and lasting memories.

Why they chose this property

We retired in 2018 and moved north from our suburban Detroit home. We purchased Point North as our summer home and began to renovate however we never lived there as we were able to purchase another home on the lake. The home on the lake was purchased completely furnished so many of the items in Point North were from our previous home. The cottage is so cute and cozy we decided to keep and make it a vacation rental for others to enjoy!

What makes this property unique

This is a Schaaf cabin made of vertical logs, Schaaf was a lumber company in the Tawas area in the 1950's and built many of the homes in "coastguardville" for Coastguard residents. The unique vertical log structure enabled them to build very efficiently using local lumber.
