Stuart’s cottage is our new favorite rental on SSI! The house is comfortable and well stocked with everything you could need. We were able to walk to dinner and used our car minimally overall. The location is simply the best. We walked to the beach each day, along the marsh for incredible sunset views, to the village for shopping and snacks and even to the park on Mallery St to play pickleball. The cottage is situated so close to so much, but the actual street it is on is so quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed time on the front porch all throughout the day and slept wonderfully at night. Stuart makes her vacation rental feel like you’re staying with family. I cannot recommend it enough!

Thanks to the guest for the BYOB situation that occurred!! I appreciate the review and hope to host your family again!
This was our first trip to St. Simon's Island. Staying at Stuart's cottage was great - the atmosphere was cozy and immaculately clean, the beds were very comfortable, the decor lovely, the kitchen fully stocked, and everything was quality. Stuart was always available to communication, and she had several helpful suggestions about dining and activities in the area. We enjoyed speaking with her. She made you feel that she cared about your experience and well-being. The cottage is just a few minutes walk from the beach (I'm short and have a small stride, but I could walk to the beach in less than 10 minutes.) We really enjoyed the screened-in patio area and it was very convenient for us to use the spigot in the yard to wash sand off before going in. There is more than adequate space for 4-6 people to stay comfortably - we are a family of 4 with 2 teenagers. My husband also unexpectedly got called from work and had to work for a few minutes on a couple of the days, and the speedy wifi and internet connections, as well as the work desk, was helpful. Recommendations: Southeastern Adventure Outfitters were great! Try their coastal kayaking tours! Also, do visit Driftwood Beach on Jekyll Island. It's an amazingly atmospheric place.

I am so happy you enjoyed the house and your whole vacation! People read these reviews and it helps one decide who is truly sharing a wonderful home or just a “place”. We love our little house and she’s always given off happy vibes. I’m glad you got to catch a few of them too! Hope to host you again! Stuart.
Also thanks for the ice-maker help!
Stuart was an excellent host and was always available if needed We loved our stay and wished we could have stayed longer but needed to return home. The home was just as cozy and comfortable as I imagined with everything we could possibly need for a month stay. We walked to the pier and beach daily and followed the reviews of previous guests along with Stuart's suggestions. The home is close to many fine restaurants and a lovely walking neighborhood that was quiet and peaceful. My favorite room was the office although I called it the sun room. Everything was clean and decorated beautifully. We explored the surrounding area including Jekyll Island (driftwood beach a must see)and Brunswick. Truly a delightful place to be, can't wait to go back.

The guest that saved the day reporting a poorly functioning shower valve! We got it fixed the same day thanks to your communication back to me!! Glad you enjoyed your stay and you’re always welcome!
This house was furnished with everything you could need. So enjoyed relaxing on the front porch each morning with coffee and each evening. Location is perfect for getting on the beach or dinning.
Warm, welcoming home that is wonderfully appointed with everything needed for a great vacation. The beds were comfortable, kitchen well stocked, and there isn’t a bad place to sit in the living room! Stuart was very communicative throughout the booking and stay. We would definitely stay here again!

About the host

I’m originally from St. Simons Island and I’m always happy to share our “go-to” spots, charter groups, favorite beach and dining spots!
Why they chose this property
This neighborhood is quintessential St Simons! The surrounding neighbors are nice, quiet and typically full time residents. This house is off a main road so safe for bike riding for children and just 2 quick shaded blocks to the beach. It’s one of the most perfect neighborhoods on the island.
What makes this property unique
This house has great happiness within the walls. My family has always felt it and we’ve had several guests mention there seems to be a happy spirit within the walls! (Don’t freak out ….. I’m not talking about ghosts!) It’s comfortable without feeling like a cheesy beach house. There are no hallways so the house doesn’t feel small…. The porches make the outdoor living perfect!
