Private waterfront home in Annapolis, Maryland. Enjoy stunning views of the Severn River and Saltworks Creek from practically every room of our charming waterfront cottage. Large wrap-around deck is the perfect place to sunbathe or just relax and enjoy the breathtaking views. Lower level deck provides nice shade to stay cool. House has four bedrooms and two full baths (renovated in 2022) and is bright and airy with lots of amenities, including WiFi internet access. Great room on upper level includes kitchen (fully equipped and tastefully updated in 2022), living room, and dining room. The lower level has large entertainment/family room area with TV/Foosball and laundry room with full-size washer and dryer. Our home is nestled in the beautiful wooded and peaceful, gated community of Epping Forest. The vacation atmosphere offers activities for all ages – swim, fish, crab and kayak from our shared, private pier and shared, large, private sandy beach. The community amenities, including a tennis court, basketball court, designated beach and swim area (lifeguard during summer months), clubhouse/restaurant and summer day camps for the kids. The community beach is great for all ages (for young kids there is a gentle slope into the water and jungle gym in the sand). Our private pier is suitable for boats of any size (one slip included with house rental) - slip can accommodate very large sailboat or power boat (MLW +10ft) and has 30 and 50 amp service. The historic and beautiful, waterfront town of Annapolis, the “Sailing Capital of the World” is just a few minutes' drive or short boat ride away. Home to the state capital of Maryland and the U.S. Naval Academy, the town offers a number of tourist activities, including sailboat and ferry cruises and guided walking tours. City Dock and Main Street have wonderful boutique shopping, restaurants, ice cream and candy shops in this scenic colonial harbor town. The house is also convenient to Maryland’s Eastern Shore, as well as the urban sights in Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, where you can chose from a wealth of cultural, sporting, and sightseeing activities. Excellent restaurants, shopping and golf courses are nearby.

This place is absolutely amazing. The location is perfect - tucked away, but easy and quick access to everything. You have your own private beach where you can relax and enjoy. The view - absolutely breathtaking. The hospitality - Martin is the perfect host. From before we booked; he was responsive, accommodating, and kind.

Wonderful long weekend

We had a lovely long weekend. We enjoyed the private beach and the kayaks. The location is so convenient to local parks and to Annapolis. Martin was so responsive to our questions. We look forward to returning in the near future.

Great Place

Great house on the bay. Every morning watching the sunrise was a real treat. Although it was winter, we still used the decks and enjoyed the outdoor space and the grill.

Overall great stay at Martin’s place! House was as described in listing. We especially enjoyed the private beach area. Martin was very responsive and a great host. Would definitely consider staying again next time we are in Annapolis.

Great for a multi family stay. Lovely dock and the sunrise views from the porch were stunning. Very private neighborhood but easy drive to DTA and the Yard. Would recommend for any Naval Academy visit. Martin was a very responsive host

Family in town for graduation

I live locally and choose this spot for our family to stay while in town — because I knew it is a great location. They had a wonderful time here. There are a lot of great choices in this area. But hard to find a better spot than this. Martin is also very easy to work with.

Respite!

Smooth, easy arrival thanks to great support from host. Amazing place, beautiful setting, careful attention to upkeep, and appointments, (except for number of forks-LOL!) Very thoughtful hosting made us feel really welcome and well-cared for. Comfortable beds, great gathering spaces, amenities for every taste. Crab traps, kayaks, decks, river views, TV's, foosball, community beach, and more.

excellent house and location

This home was our 4th rental in Maryland as we were in town for July. This home was by far the best. View was breathtaking, beautiful location in the hills of Epping Forest. Lots of deck to entertain, central AC, kitchen stocked with everything, kayaks and a private beach which we absolutely loved! One minus was that the bedding was less than to be desired (stained a bit -but Martin quickly ordered new mattress protectors). Martin was an over-the-top host. The bedding issue was negligent compared to our experience with VRBO. Now here's our review of VRBO in getting one night refunded. 2 nights before checkout, there was a power outage from wind-trees were downed and we lost power and water (on pump). We stayed 1 night w/o power/water (yuck) assuming it would resume but it did not so we asked for early checkout for 1 night. Martin was so responsive and called VRBO to issue a refund for one night plus, as requested by me, the prorated fees and taxes. VRBO was the worst experience imaginable. They refused to refund us what we asked. Really? I've been a customer over what... 10 years? and never once had a complaint until now. Cust svc reps are NOT there to service customers. They are aggressive lackeys trained to repeat mantra to benefit their bottom line. They do not care for repeat customers, probably because they monopolize the rental home industry. On hold 30 minutes then disconnected to receive no call back.I am still waiting for my measly $ after spending mucho $$$$$!!!

Breathtaking River Views In A Wonderful Community

It was a great getaway from home right before the year-end holidays. The house is simply beautiful with multiple angle views of the gorgeous river. It is a peaceful neighborhood with friendly residents who welcome you during walks. There is plenty to do even during the winter. You are also steps away from downtown Annapolis. Martin was extremely helpful throughout the booking and staying-process. He called in to check if everything was going well on our first day. This was one of the best experiences we had in bookings. We will be back!

Beautiful cottage on the river

Great Property in a Great Location

Very spacious house with private dock close to Annapolis downtown and easy access to boating on the bay. Martin was very responsive and helpful with any questions, requests, etc. Definitely looking forward to renting the property again.

Excellent vacation site!

This house is in a quiet neighborhood with spectacular views of the Severn River and Saltworks Creek. The Creek is well protected and affords an opportunity to use the available kayaks even if the Severn becomes choppy. I am hoping to return to this house for vacations in the future.

Great little getaway

So peaceful and relaxing on the water and so close to Annapolis. Blue Heron Cottage is properly named as we saw the heron often. House layout is great. Desk downstairs perfect for remote work.

Awesome week on the Severn River

Had a wonderful week at Martin’s cabin. The cabin was fully equipped with everything anyone would ever need. We met Martin the afternoon of our arrival as he was delivering two bottles of gas for the grill to be sure we would have enough for our stay. We availed ourselves of Martin’s kayaks and crab traps and our son and granddaughter managed to catch a few blue crabs off the dock. Delicious. Caught many fish off the pier. Martin’s collection of DVDs is unmatched! Kids big and little enjoyed the football table. Plenty of room for our family of six adults and two kids ages 10 and 8. Beds were very comfortable and the lack of outside ambient light at night made for great sleeping. The beach and clubhouse were a short walk/drive away and are beyond description. Great beach for swimming with sandy bottom with gradual drop off and pier for jumping and diving. Our grandkids absolutely loved it. Never crowded the entire week we were there. The clubhouse food was great and very reasonably priced. The views of the water from the back and side decks was amazing…….so calming and relaxing. We are already making plans for a return trip next summer. Communication with Martin was easy. He answered all our questions quickly and concisely. He is certainly a gracious host.

Great Location

Our family had a comfortable, enjoyable visit in this lovely home. Close to downtown Annapolis but with the beautiful views of the Severn River we spent most of our week relaxing together at the house. Martin is great to work with and we would consider renting this location again.

Great Location with Awesome Views

This house was perfect with great views. The dock allowed us to bring our Boston Whaler which made for a great weekend on the water. The house is very close to Annapolis by boat or by land. I am one of 5 siblings in our 50's and 60's and the house was perfect for our reunion. Martin was a very responsive host. I would definitely rent again. Highly recommend.

Amazing Location

We loved our stay at the house. The location was amazing for both water sports or just lounging and taking in the view. Property owner was super accommodating and helpful. Great neighborhood and club house.

Wonderful community on the Severn River

We really enjoyed our stay. Even off-season we enjoyed kayaking, fishing and beautiful sunrises. Would highly recommend!

What a view!

Can’t say enough about our stay. Martin, the owner, was communicative, responsive and a great host! The house was exactly what we were looking for - quaint, bright, views from 2 sides of the Severn and Saltworks Creek, clean and a foosball table that my son and his friend enjoyed. They also fished and crabbed from the dock. The neighborhood is adorable. We took a kayak down the creek and were amazed how far it went! I guess to summarize how we felt- we will be back!
