A gem of a place!
We booked this home 6 months in advance and did so because we love the historical nature of the complex. We love mid century architecture and this place did not disappoint! The home is exactly as shown online and James was wonderful to work with. We didn't have any issues at all and we were there for a month. We were lucky to be there during Modernism Week and we were able to view other townhomes in this complex. It was so fun! The pool and hot tub area are lovely and we had it to ourselves often. The pool is heated and we swam in February which was so nice. The home has many of its original features and was bright and roomy. The back of the home is all glass and faces south so we had lots of warm light and some mountain views. We would rent again from James for sure. You won't be disappointed with this one!

What a wonderful vacation
This home is everything it says in the description and more. Well located to be able to go anywhere you might want in the Palm Springs, RanchonMirage, Palm Desert areas. Quiet, well decorated, very relaxing and a true gem. The owner was super nice and easy to reach with questions. We look forward to coming back in a few months.

Second year in a row that I have stayed here. Just as amazing as the last time. Perfect mid-mod condo with great a/c and a wonderful pool in a great location.

An enjoyable stay
The owner is terrific and responded immediately when we had a problem. Property manager slower but we have no complaints overall. Lovely and peaceful, definitely a walk back to what I remember of the mid 60s.

Wonderful space
Loved the light and space. TV and sound system were great. Kitchen needed some items that we purchased. Gave it four stars as the oven grills were clean but oven interior needed a hood sc scrub. (Due to its age not sure if it’s possible.) Lovely patio for a dinner party. Enjoyed the walk ability & nearby restaurants.

Perfect remote workplace
I spent the month out in PS working remotely. The internet speed was excellent. The place is an iconic mid-mod pad that will not disappoint. Location is ideal - Just minutes away from downtown PS. Owner was easy to reach and responded quickly. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for that ideal Palm Springs experience.

Felt right at home...
From the minute I entered this beautiful place, I felt I was home. I told people I could live there forever. It was quiet, spacious, beautifully decorated, well appointed with all the amenities, and just a pleasure to spend time in. Communication with the owner was exceptional and I left feeling rested, restored and happy!

Perfect midcentury oasis!
We spent a month at James' place and absolutely loved the property. So many special architectural details in this complex. Great outdoor patio and community pool. Location was very close to downtown Palm Springs. Overall a very lovely home, exceeded all of our expectations, and James was easy to stay in touch with throughout our stay! We hope to be back someday.

Wonderful mid century condo
We enjoyed our time at James’ condo. Pictures accurately reflect the condo. Happy to find there is a bar area off the kitchen, as well as a small desk in the guest room that weren’t shown. Although some of the appliances and kitchen wear are quite vintage, we found everything worked well and we were quite comfortable cooking at the condo. Large patio gives you lots of space to stretch out in the sun and the common pool area was fairly close and infrequently used. We’d love to stay here again!

James' house was a delightful place. Very open and spacious, and the community pool and other shared areas were very nice and clean. James was very prompt with communication and very helpful about everything.

Great condo for a long term stay
Although interrupted by the covid-19 pandemic, we enjoyed our 2 week stay in James' condo. Previous reviews and pictures were very accurate. At more than 1400 sq. feet, it's filled with natural light (read about Barry Berukus and the type of construction). As James noted, the condo sits in the rear corner of the property thus having two, large (connected) patios. The s/sw exposure allows for sun all day long. We found all amenities as described. The kitchen, althoug "kitschy" is fully functional. The bedrooms are large and well outfitted. The connected living room/den is huge, allowing for personal space as desired. We love the location in South Palm Springs. It's a 3 block walk to the 'berm' which parallels the Whitewater wash and Indian Canyons golf course. At almost 3 miles long, it allows for a wonderful, flat walk. If one desires more of a challenge, the hills behind are a short distance away, filled with hiking trails. The small complex (31 units) has a nicely sized pool and hot tub. Laundry facilities, although not in-house, are a short distance away. Shopping, restaurants and golf courses are nearby. James was easily available by email and telephone. A minor plumbing problem was quickly addressed by contacting him to arrange for a plumber to fix. James was generous to compensate us for our early departure. We hope to be able to arrange a future visit in this wonderful property.

This was our second stay in James' wonderful mid-mod condo. And we will never stay anywhere else in Palm Springs again! Great location, wonderful ambiance, sparkling pool, beautifully designed and impeccably maintained grounds. And now it feels like our very own home-away-from-home.

Amazing architecture, excellent value
The unit is a work of art! Many original fixtures, cabinetry, etc., and some nice modern upgrades in the audio/television department. Any “quaintness” in the other reviews about the older kitchenware can easily be forgiven at this price. The pool and grounds are immaculate, the few other residents in the complex I met were super friendly, and James the owner was a pleasure to deal with the few times we communicated. Was a great trip for me and a great value. Thanks James for sharing your beautiful place with others!

This Is My Dream House!
The first time I ever saw a photo of Park Imperial South, I thought to myself, "That is my dream condo!" And after 4 weeks in James' home, I know that my gut response was absolutely right! This place is a jewel. Beautifully designed by architect Barry Berkus in 1960 and in mint condition. The whimsical folded-plate roofline, the walls of glass, the pristine original fixtures, the huge yard, the immaculate pool, the dramatic mountain views, the hummingbirds... Staying here was a Mid-Century Modern dream-come-true for us. The home is beautiful, in a wonderfully central location to all the surrounding suburbs, and James was an attentive, meticulous host. I cannot recommend this place more highly. I only wish I could live here for the rest of my life...

60's Cool
We loved our one-month stay in this very cool Mid-Century Modern 1960s home. We are both architecture fans and truly appreciated the details in this house, from the folded plate roofline, to the large windows, to the great styling of the aqua stove/oven (that functioned quite well). The furniture fit in very appropriately for the home, and the house felt larger than its square footage. The online photos were very accurate as to the reality: the photos looked good and the house was indeed good, and clean. The large living room had a 1960s ambience that lent itself to relaxing on the sofa and listening to Rat Pack music, while the cozy den room was a good spot for watching movies. The two bedrooms were good-sized and comfortable. The bathroom in the master bath was nicely decorated and the shower worked well (we did not use the other shower). The weather was hot so we did not use the patio, but it was well-lit in the evenings and added to the ambiance, and the views of the mountains in the daytime and at sunset were beautiful from the living room. The house was fairly close to downtown Palm Springs (about 7 minutes driving), and there were many grocery stores and restaurants much closer by. There was one covered parking spot designated for the home, which was useful. It was very easy working with James, the owner, as we communicated several times ahead of the stay and he was always very helpful. The area was very quiet: it was off-season summertime, so there were not many people around in the other houses nearby. We look forward to returning soon, and recommend it to others who are looking to absorb the 1960s aura of Palm Springs.

From the time we walked in we fell in love with this place , the design, furniture, the views can't say enough, wish we could rent it for the whole winter. one month isn't enough. Close to everything the perfect location.We'll be back for sure...

Mid century modern classic
We truly loved staying in this classic MCM home...it is so spacious, private and perfect for entertaining! I loved the kitchen with the original stove and cabinets. Kitchen was also well equipped with everything you need. The pots and pans are a bit old, but functional. The pool was great and there were days when we were the only ones there. The location of this complex is perfect! Within walking distance of shopping centres, the buzz free shuttle bus to downtown and just a few steps away from the sun line bus. Our only disappointment is that it is not available for next year.

Amazing, wonderful, terrific.
A wonderful, wonderful stay in Feb. The unit is quiet, spacious, comfortable and well appointed. The MCM architecture is classic. The complex was on the Moderism Week tours. It was fun seeing inside other units in the complex. The views are spectacular. Everything we needed was here, just BYO hairdryer! Close to hiking trails, downtown, shopping, restaurants. This unit is at the end, so benefits from two large private patio spaces. James was very responsive with details before we settled in. Luckily, we didn't need him after that!! Hopefully we'll be back. A fabulous month in Palm Springs.
