This Lake Front Vacation Rental on Lake Shasta was acquired in 2008, totally renovated and new to the vacation rental market as of June 2009.

The property is a very roomy 2,000 s.f. family vacation rental on a third of an acre lot, with a game room in the garage and an on-site (off the street) easy access boat or trailer pad. This completely renovated and remodeled resort house is located in the quaint community of Lakehead and backs to Shasta Trinity National Forest Land with a private gate to the Forest Service trail directly to the Lake. There is nothing between you and the Lake except your desire to get there!

The house sleeps 10 in very comfy beds in bedrooms and can accommodate additional deluxe queen air mattresses (provided) in the master suite and the living room area as well as tents in the back yard.

Large shaded private deck looks directly into the forest and the lake cove behind the property (lake view is dependent upon time of year and level of lake but Lake Shasta is always HUGE no matter what the level!). Patio area is set up for outdoor meals or relaxing with table, chairs, bar, ice chest and barbeque.

You can tie your boat to the shore or rent a slip and transport to our built- in off-street pad. Don’t have a boat? Plenty of reasonable rentals for everything from jet-skis, ski boats, fishing boats and patio boats are available locally. Don’t want a boat? Relax by the shore in a lounge chair, floats on the warm water in a quiet cove or fish.

Responsible renters must be at least 25 years old and present on the property during the rental period. Well behaved dogs are welcome with an additional deposit (leash laws are enforced in the community). This is a Non-smoking house but there are designated areas to smoke outside.

About The Owner

Hi, my name is Karen DuBois and our vacation rental is a family owned and operated property. We are avid outdoor enthusiasts and relaxation specialists and have always loved Lake Shasta and all the wonderful surrounding areas. My parents moved to the Lake in 1972 and my Mom still lives in Lakehead.

The Owner purchased this house in 2008

Why The Owner chose Shasta Lake

We choose this property because my sister and I grew up in this same area on beautiful Shasta Lake and we always wanted to have a permanent residence where we could stay and share with other family members. When this property came on the market in 2008 we knew it would be perfect for our needs and we could share this great vacation experience with other families as well.

What makes this house unique

There are only a few vacation rentals on the Lake that actually border Forest Service property with a direct trail to the Lake and our property is one of them. You can tie your boat to the shoreline and walk from the house to access the Lake. Our property has its own private gate directly to the Forest Service trail directly to the water's edge. Our property also has an off-street pad that will accommodate a large truck and trailer and driveway parking for other vehicles. We have converted the garage into a gameroom with a pool/ping pong table and other games. The entire property has been remodeled, decorated, landscaped and set up to provide every convenience for a relaxing, fun vacation.

Hope you're having a good summer. Wanted to inquire about your home's availability this year to rent again. We had such a great time last year, we can't imagine staying anywhere else!



We'd be looking at the weekend after Labor Day for 3 nights. Arriving Thursday, Sept 9, and departing Sunday, Sept 12.







Can you confirm the availability that weekend, and the rate? (I think it's off season at that point, but not 100% sure).

Comfortable, cozy home right on the lake

We had a wonderful visit in this home - it was comfortable and equipped with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The kitchen is well stocked with all your cooking needs. Plenty of parking available, and we enjoyed the foosball table in the garage. Many options for boat launch near the property within a 10 minute drive - Antlers, public launch, and our preferred spot - Sugarloaf (least debris at the launch site, boat slips available for rent). This is a great spot for small children - fenced yard, lots of toys and games, and even a high chair for use while you visit. Karen and Elizabeth were helpful in answering all of our questions for our stay. Would highly recommend - we hope to return for another visit some day!

Awesome Place

We had a large group of people celebrating our new year, It is a really nice and well maintained place, it has game room with ping pong and foos ball which was a great deal, I'll highly recommended this house to large families and groups

Very clean and spacious!

My family and I had a great time at the Lake house in Shasta. We had plenty of room and enjoyed the property. The only issue we had was the wifi didn't work and the tankless water heater shut off once during a shower. Other than that we loved walking down to the lake and the kids loved the game room in the garage. I would stay here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in Lakehead.

Three families had a great time

We came together for a family vacation and had a wonderful time. There is nothing we needed. The house was outfitted as advertised. The four bathrooms was a real plus. With the lake up Antlers launch ramp was open and convenient. The market in Lakehead is surprisingly well stocked. The restaurants near by were a little weak since it was the end of the season, but we all made due.

Outstanding place and great house

My family and 3 other families had a great time here. The house looks small from outside however once we entered we were surprise how big it is. We were 12 people and there were space for more. Karen was an wonderful host and had everything arranged for us. Kitchen was very well stocked. Kids enjoyed a lot running inside and outdoors. Conveniently located. Highly recommended for families.
