Great Creek Quiet Waterfront Lake Escape

Beautiful 2 story waterfront home located in a large quiet cove with access to the main lake. Large yard with multiple outdoor seating areas, dock to tie up your boat or boat rentals nearby, water toys, floating water-mat, sandy beach area, steps into the water, swing set, horseshoes, air hockey, and multiple other amenities.
Great for large family gatherings or multiple families.
Two washer and dryers, two full size refrigerators, kitchenette in the downstairs, and 6 smart TV's. Winery, golf and stores nearby.

Water depth is about 2 ft at entry level steps, great for water games, little ones, and floating. With a depth of around 10 ft at the end of the dock, its perfect for jumping in or tying up your boat.

Layout of the interior makes it entry level on either floor. The first floor includes the kitchen, dining area, living room, master bedroom with attached bath, as well an additional king guest room and a full bath. The remaining 3 bedrooms are downstairs with a full bath, kitchenette, and living area.
One adult kayak, a double kayak, 2 kids kayaks, and a paddle board are available for use.

The boat lift is not available for use, as we are working on fixing it. There is ample space for two boats to tie up surrounding the dock. Diagram provided by water front if needed.

Plenty of board games, puzzles, etc to keep you busy, in the event of a rainy day.
Local stores nearby stock produce and meats, if you find yourself out of anything. South Hill is about a 15 min drive, with bowling, movies, and stores.

We do have outdoor cameras for the purpose of water levels, storm damage, pet detection, etc. These are not utilized otherwise.

Great Location

The layout of the home was wonderful. The home was spacious and roomy for my group. Each area was carefully thoughtout. The large lot was amazing and the beach area was a huge hit for the kids.

Peaceful Lake Setting!

By far the best part of the lake we have stayed at so far! We paddle boarded down to the end of the lake with the Lilly pads. The beach was PERFECT for the littles and the yard was great! Interior was so comfortable and we had everything we needed. Loved the house, thank you!

Peaceful

Could not of asked for a better location! The weather wasn't the greatest but we had a wonderful time! The neighborhood is very quiet...which was exactly what we wanted! The little beach near the dock was a hit! We sat out there and enjoyed the view A LOT! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home! We will be back!

Family Friendly

Excellent location for a family. There are a number of floatation devices, lots of canoes, and fun toys/games for everyone. This property has everything you need to relax and enjoy. The cove is quiet, the water is shallow so great for little ones, fabulous place to just float. The kitchen is well equipped, bedrooms are spacious, master bath has a great shower. A local store/bakery is just 5 minutes away and a must, J.B. Jones is the name and everything is delicious. Thanks for the stay, we thoroughly enjoyed!

Everything you'll need for a great vacation!

We have nothing but great things to say about this property! We had a large family vacation here with ages ranging from 16 to 70+, and there was something for everyone. Our family went kayaking, fishing off the dock, tubing on the lake, swimming, tanning on the little beach area, game nights, and s'mores at the bonfire. We kept extremely busy and loved every minute of it. The house was plenty big for our group, and everyone fit comfortably. You can tell the homeowners care about their guests and have thought through every detail. They labeled all the drawers, left detailed directions, provided great linens and extra toiletries. The house is also beautifully decorated. If you are looking for the perfect place to have a family vacation, look no further.

A Perfect Week on Lake Gaston

We had very high expectations for this VRBO stay, based on the descriptions and pictures of this property as well as previous reviews, all of which led us to choose this beautiful spot. Our expectations were exceeded from the moment we arrived. The home itself is stunning, impeccably clean, with a very well-equipped kitchen, luxurious towels and linens, and very comfortable beds. The sleeping arrangements were ideal, with two king bedrooms on the main floor for two couples and two other king bedrooms on the lower level, with adjoining rooms for our grandchildren. We knew we were going to love it when we walked through the front door and saw the view of the lake through the huge windows. The grounds, beach area and dock were as inviting as the inside. A large sandbox with an endless supply of diggers, trucks, pails and the like as well as the playground area with is swings, slide and fort-like structure were all well used by the grandkids (all 7 and under). The two oldest ones learned to kayak on the kids’ kayaks and the adults enjoyed the single and double kayaks as well as the standup paddle board. Sarah had gotten a new water toy—a huge inflatable slide with a large area on it for sitting or lying down—which all of us enjoyed, along with a hugrc

BEAUTIFUL HOME & PROPERTY

The owners of this house have gone above and beyond making this a perfect getaway destination. The house was beautifully furnished, immaculate, and offered plenty of room on the two floors for our group, which consisted of three couples, me and my husband, our grown children and five grandchildren. When we initially walked in the front door, the view of the lake is visible through the enormous window in the living room. It literally took my breath away. The pictures on the website don’t do it justice. The setting is amazing and instantly relaxing! The lake sparkles and the backyard calls to you with the different seating areas, fire pit, and dock. Outside in a minute…. The kitchen was stocked with everything you’d ever need and the additional two refrigerators (one on lower level and another in the shed) was a huge plus for this many people. Two coffee-makers, two sinks (one in the island), two sets of washer/dryers, and two large garbage containers are just examples of how the property caters to ‘groups’. In most rentals the primary bedroom has the largest bed and the rest are smaller with twins, etc. Not the case here. All the bedrooms were large and four of them had comfortable king sized beds. Plush towels in all the bathrooms and the shower in the bathroom off the primary bedroom is so relaxing and spa-like, that I could have stayed in there for hours. The owners not only cater to adult renters but have made it a paradise for children. There is an air hockey table on the lower level and unique games scattered throughout the house. The backyard leading to the lake could put any park to shame! There is a swing-set, horseshoes, a small sandy beach where our little ones played on the toy excavator, and shallow water where they could easily walk in and splash around. My grandkids especially loved fishing off the dock. They range in age from 3 to 8 yrs old and this being their first time ever dropping a line into water will now think it’s normal to catch a fish within 1 minute! They fished on and off all day long, each time ecstatic with their catch. Priceless! The outside shed is filled with floaties, life jackets and additional water toys. The kayaks were used numerous times by everyone. I can’t say enough nice things about Sarah, the owner and host of the property. She answered all my questions within minutes of leaving a message and is as sweet as anyone could possibly be. Thank you for sharing it with us!

Wonderful place for Family Vacation

The home is beautiful, spacious and equipped with everything you could possibly need from kitchen utensils to beach toys. The swing set, sandy beach area and shallow water near shore were perfect for the kids. The dock goes out to deeper water and provided a good tie up spot for boat. The owner could not have been more helpful and gracious.

Absolutely amazing

From the time we arrived everything was how I seen it in the photos, the time you spend there will truly never be forgotten. Lake access with all the toys to enjoy, to the late night fires and grilling out. Kayaking, boating during the day and game nights in a beautifully decorated home really brings the family and friends together for an all around great experience for everyone. House is really well maintained and well kept, love the cozy home feeling you get the moment you walk in the door. Dock access is perfect for a boat, tying off tubes and a beautiful scenery around the lake, serenity at this home is an understatement. Absolutely beautiful!

A Superb Vacation Home for Lake Gaston

This home is perfect in every way… spacious, beautiful, clean, gorgeously decorated, and amazing amenities! Everything you need for cooking is available… every pot, pan, utensil, two coffee makers and to make is easy to adjust to your new vacation house every cabinet, drawer and lightswitch is labeled! This detail made things so much easier. The home has two regular size refrigerators and one small one in the house and another regular size refrigerator at the dock!!! Included are towels, sheets, shampoo, washing detergent, dishwashing detergent, paper towels… and the list goes on. As wonderful as the house is, the outside area is even better!!!!! Patios outside the kitchen, and several bedrooms, as well as two additional outdoors eating areas! Canoes and paddle boards and many more water toys, plus a large water mat secured in the water for jumping or relaxing on, four beautiful and comfortable lounge chairs, a fire pit with many outdoor chairs surrounding. The dock is awesome, complete with docking areas for boats, sink with running lake water, and a large sitting area at the end of the dock! The view of the sunset from the dock is indescribable! We’ve rented several houses on Lake Gaston and Lake Norman and this is our absolute favorite!!!! We highly recommend it for a perfect vacation spot!!!! Also, the owner, Sarah, is so eager to support you in any way she possibly can!

Great place to have a great time!

We were super impressed with this property. The house is cozy yet spacious, clean, decorated well, great layout for our group with 2 great living areas, 1 on each floor. Bedrooms and bathrooms are all spacious and well kept. Multiple washer/dryers, and the attached garage is great for extra storage. The property itself slopes gently down to the lake, with great property views from the house down to the water. The boathouse/shed is fantastic, with a full size fridge/freezer so you don't have to lug coolers and ice. Charcoal grill at the water in convenient, small sandy area for the kiddos, large swimming/water play area that's not too deep, floating water mat is a great bonus, pole in the water was great to keep the paddle boards in place. The kayaks got a lot of use, 2 smaller kids size got a lot of use. Plenty of room on the dock for hanging out and fishing, lots of room to tie off multiple boats. The sink on the dock is great for cleaning hands from bait. One of the greatest features of the entire property is the labels all over that take all of the guesswork out of finding everything from utensils, to cleaning supplies, and directions for lights, trash, etc. Overall, a great place to spend a week at the lake, laid out well, clean, well maintained, with plenty of amenities. Very well thought out and enjoyable. We had a great time!

The perfect family vacation!!

The house was well equipped, the property looked just like it did in the pictures and was perfect for our family of adults and young children. The owners were very helpful and attentive. The place was exceptional for young children with playground, sand area with plenty of sand toys, extras like bubble toys, life jackets and float toys. The floating lily pad was a wonderful place for hanging out on the water. It was an amazing stay right on the lake. I would highly recommend and would love to go back!
