Trip to the Lake Placid area

The house is located on a beautiful, wooded property in Wilmington, NY right a branch of the Ausable River. We had a wonderful time exploring the area and relaxing in the home. The owners were very gracious hosts. We would love to come back again!

Our family had a wonderful time during our stay the week of iron man. We were able too root on the cyclisists during the day of the race! The house is beautiful. Back deck is perfect for grilling family dinner and enjoying the hot tub. We all enjoyed making smores in the fire pit, especially the kids. Perfect ADK location during any time of the year! Hosts do a phenomenal job making you feel welcome.

Perfect Getaway

This home was so comfortable and beautifully situated within the High Peaks region to allow for access to skiing, Lake Placid, and a myriad of hiking and winter opportunities. Anne and Rick were amazing and responsive hosts. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Better than expected!

Our family of six had a wonderful stay at this property. The house is beautiful, nicely furnished, incredibly clean, and the layout is perfect for a family. Highlights include the great room (living, dining and kitchen) with large windows into pines and the Ausable river. The kitchen had top of the line appliances and was fully stocked for cooking and baking, or even just making coffee. The main bedroom is off the great room, also with large windows facing pines and the river, with an en-suite bathroom that includes a steam shower and deep soaking tub. There is a large porch off the great room and master suite with a large and clean hot tub, seating, and a gas grill. Downstairs is another family room with projector screen TV (great for family movie night) two bedrooms used by our kids, a full bath (also with steam shower), and a gym with weights, treadmill and recumbent bike. It was a great location for day trips to Whiteface, hiking (we climbed Big Slide), nearby lakes and streams, and bike trails. We would be happy to stay here again.

I've lived here in the Adirondacks for 37 years. I love the outdoors and this area has plenty to offer right out the back door. I have a Whiteface pass, hiked the Northville Placid trail with my son in 2013. Just finished the 46 high peaks with my daughter in August 2024. I roll out my back door and go fishing in the West Branch of the AuSable River.
There are mountain bike trails and parks within a 5 minute bike ride. I feel very fortunate to live here.
