Dancing Bear Cabin


Fall colors, bonfires and s’mores! A beautiful, secluded log cabin. This is your destination for family and friends to reconnect in the beauty and quiet of nature. All the modern amenities with the rustic charm of ‘up north’ life. Two levels give you plenty of room to stretch out and relax. A dedicated office area lets you spend some time at work. Watch beautiful sunrises and sunsets from the screened in porch on rocking chairs. Enjoy the fire pit and a game of corn hole on our spacious 20 acres. Remember to bring your fishing rod to test your luck in the pond. The pond is 20 feet deep with approximately 5 feet of shallow around the edge. There is also a small dock to fish off. The main floor has a full working kitchen and three bedrooms with two bathrooms. There's also a loft area with bunk beds and a futon perfect for kids in the summer. The loft has its own A/C and heating unit. The bottom level features a pool table, a 65-inch tv with DVD player and another bathroom. You may not want to leave but there's much to enjoy in the area. Kayak on the Ausable River just 10 minutes away or the Rifle River 15 minutes away. Want a bigger lake? Lake Huron is 40 minutes from the cabin, but Long Lake and Alcona Damn Pond is half the distance where there's public access for boats. There’re also two beautiful golf courses in Glennie, Eagle Ridge and Hale, Wickard Hills minutes away. If ATV trails are what you need, the South Branch Trails for ATVs and snowmobiles is just 2 miles away. Don't miss a chance to star gaze, according to the Bortle Dark Sky scale we are at a 2 for darkness. Unless you're in the middle of Lake Michigan it doesn't get any better than that! Make sure you download the Star Chart app that tells you the names of the constellations you'll be seeing on a clear night. Dancing Bear Cabin is the perfect place to make memories with family and friends. We hope you enjoy our home as much as we do.

Our annual mom’s getaway trip was spent at this lovely cabin. There is nothing this place doesn’t offer. The cabin is spacious with numerous beds and bathrooms, is quite cozy and has everything you could possibly want in the kitchen for dining in. They have a number of games, a pool table, books, magazines and cards to keep you busy for those staying in days in too. The place is super clean and the pictures just don’t do it justice! We thoroughly enjoyed all that this cabin and area had to offer. The hosts were amazing and responded lightening fast to all of our questions as well. I really can’t recommend this place enough. Don’t hesitate to book a stay here. You won’t be disappointed.

Another beautiful stay

We have stayed at this property several times and it never disappoints! The cabin is large with space for everyone to spread out. The amenities are perfect with something to do not matter the weather. We take our ATV's and ride the trails which are right around the corner and are magnificent!! This will always be our go to spot and Anne and Joe are wonderful hosts!

BEAUTIFUL !!

We needed a quiet and beautiful retreat for a girls weekend. This cabin didn’t disappoint us! It was beautiful and quiet. Everything you could think of was provided in this home. We talked about doing a couples weekend night year during our first night. Thanks for sharing your place! We’ll be back!

Nice house

The house was great very well taken care go. The only issuse we had where it was on very rough dirt road just over a mile, we found dirty laundry under the beds there was dry up contacts on the kitchen counter it was a little weird to find a grave with head stones on the property next to the pond I think they should but that in the post. And we had our items moved in the house while we where gone that the day both days like someone had came in and looked in our stuff Other than that the place is great!!!

Perfect Place to enjoy your family vacation

The clean and spacious home was perfect for our large family. Everyone had their own space. There was plenty to do even if it rained. The outdoor spaces were set-up perfectly for times of gathering. LOVED the large screened in porch. Saw lots of wild life too. Perfectly located near lots of fun activities. Some were..... Frankenmuth, Oscoda Beach, and boba/bubble tea in Rose City. Absolutly perfect hosts.

Another ATV getaway

This was our third stay at this beautiful cabin and will most certainly not be our last! The location is perfect, more than enough room to be comfortable and the amenities are top notch! We are already planning at least two return trips for next year! I highly recommend!!

Welcoming and private

The home and property are absolutely beautiful. The open floor plan and screened in front porch were used a great deal. The owners were responsive and the entire process was so easy. The home has everything you need and if you happen to forget something, it is likely already there. We didn't have any luck with fishing but the pond was still a nice touch. It is private but a nice 20 minute drive to beautiful hiking trails.

Absolutely Perfect!

This cabin was soo great! It was very clean and comfortable, I was so glad I didn't have to pack every cooking utensil or toilet paper. It was a nice surprise to see a 4th full bedroom in the basement that I didn't remember seeing on the listing so we ended up having a bedroom for every couple without needing the loft. The kitchen table fit everyone so we could play games and catch up on life. Having the screened in porch was just beautiful and peaceful and allowed for those who didn't want to run around in the fields playing all the lawn games to enjoy watching without all the pesty bugs! It was seriously the best place we've stayed in for exactly what we needed it to be. The view of the stars was incredible! These hosts are so kind and helpful! Highly highly recommend!

Beautiful and quiet

We loved our stay and plan to be back! Finding the house was a little tricky GPS will only take you so far and house numbering is not super consistent. We had three trailers full of side-by-side‘s. Once you pull into the driveway you’re semi committed with a trailer. We could still make it work without damaging grass. You will have no cell reception so plan ahead with the locker codes screenshot it on your phone. It’s still took us quite a few tries to access the key. This house could easily accommodate four couples and three kids. You are limited to three or four showers but hot water recovery is about 20-30 mins. Everything in this house feels of quality and nice construction. This is not some random house turned into a rental.

Porch Perching

We had a such a wonderful time on our 2nd annual mother daughter trip! We sat on the front porch in the morning and the back porch at night! This property has everything we needed and more. I am so glad we got to meet Joe & Anne. They are the best!

Stunning property!

We had the most amazing time. The photos do not do this home justice. The hosts thought of everything and even have an office space (if you have to work) and a game closet with games that are fun for everyone. Kitchen had everything we needed and more. Spacious, comfortable beds and bedding. Awesome recreational and television area on the lower level. Honestly, it's one of the best vacation rentals we've had so far. Thanks to Anne and Joe for making our stay wonderful!! ❤️
