According to Parisians, its location is the most pleasant district of Paris, the 5th arrondissement. What do you think about having a view on the Val de Grace church, and cruising in rue Mouffetard and Rue Monge, known for their typical markets and Parisian atmosphere, and next to Luxembourg garden.
It felt like a real neighborhood, away from most of the tourist spots, but within close proximity to everything. We found some wonderful restaurants along Rue Saint Jacques, Blvd. Montparnasse, Rue Vavin, and around the Luxembourg Gardens.
The Val de grace, which is few yards away, is a Military Hospital built in the XVII° century and offers the second nicest church and 'Dôme' of Paris after the Invalides. It is in a very nice area, with the Luxembourg Garden, Pantheon and Sorbonne all less than 5 minutes away.
A seven-minute walk south then right on the boulevard du Montparnasse and then past the Vavin Metro stop takes you to a bustling area of up-scale cafés and creperies. Several of the cafés are historically famous, and were frequented by Hemingway, Chagall, Matisse, and Picasso. The café Closerie des Lilas, at the corner of boulevard du Montparnasse and boulevard St-Michel, is where Hemingway penned 'The Sun Also Rises' in a mere two weeks. This area really comes alive late at night.
The fresh food market on Blvd. Port Royal is friendly and full of seasonal fruits and vegetables as well as game and all kinds of cheese. There is also a wonderful boucherie just off Rue St. Jacques and Blvd. Port Royal as well as Rue Val de Grace.

We are a french and parisian couple and we would love having the pleasure to have you living in our apartment and its wonderful neighborhood
Josette Gadea purchased this apartment in 1995
This is to me the most beautiful area of Paris. Quiet and Elegant, this neighborhood has always kept me in love with Paris.
The apartment is few yards from the extraordinary parc of Luxembourg.
My husband, adult daughter, and I totally enjoyed our two week stay in this
charming Rue du Val de Grace apartment with every amenity. The owner was
a delightful hostess who helped to make our vacation perfect. We truly felt
that we were in a Parisian home rather than a rental. The location was great -
a short walk to the Metro, cafes, grocery stores, and the loveliest garden in Paris.

Our family of 4 (2 teenage girls) stayed in this wonderful apartment for almost a week during the first week of July. I cannot say enough good things about Josette, the apartment, and the location. The charming apartment provided plenty of space for us; the beds were comfortable; the wifi was great; and all of the available appliances (including the much needed washer/dryer) worked great and were easy to use. The apartment was well stocked for our arrival, ensuring we would not need to immediately run to the store. When we did venture out, everything was at our fingertips, as the apartment sits on a quiet street, just off of Rue St Michel, near many cute bistros/brasseries, Luxembourg Gardens, and shopping. Josette was lovely, meeting us when we arrived to make sure we had everything we needed and to show us around the apartment, even arranging a taxi for our return trip to the airport. Many, many thanks for a wonderful stay in Paris!
Beautiful, cozy Parisian flat which was well equipped with lovely linens and furnishings. The refrigerator was stocked with cold drinks and a loaf of fresh bread close by. Our lovely hostess greeted us at the door and made dinner reservations for us at her recommended bistro after our late arrival via train from southern France. Wished we had more time to spend there.
Our family absolutely adored the lovely apartment and we cannot say enough about the hospitality of the hosts or the convenience of the location! The hosts helped us with every detail of our stay and we highly recommend staying here for a wonderful Paris experience.
We spent ten wonderful days in this lovely apartment. My husband, adult son and I were visiting our daughter who has been living in Paris while she attends school there. Upon arrival, we were met by Josette's husband at the apartment. He gave us a tour of the apartment and answered any questions we had. He also showed us a notebook which provided a wealth of information about the area including restaurant recommendations, hours for local businesses as well as emergency info. We found this book to be very helpful during the week whether it was to see how late the grocery store stayed open or how to turn the washing machine on. We arrived early in the morning and appreciated fresh croissants and a refrigerator that was fully stocked with water, juice and more. The apartment is ideally situated near a metro stop, near bus stops, and is also in walking distance of some wonderful areas for shopping. The Luxembourg Gardens are only blocks away and we spent a lovely afternoon there listening to music and having a glass of wine. We felt very much at home in the apartment. It was immaculate and fully stocked with everything we needed. The kitchen is small but well stocked with everything needed to prepare a meal and there was a Nespresso coffee maker as well as a French press. The bathroom was spacious and modern with a separate WC. We appreciated having a washer and dryer. The apartment is quiet with some small shops along the street--a bakery, wine shop and there is a small but very good grocery store down the street and around the corner. The apartment has beautiful light and windows and when you look at it....you just know you are in Paris! The architectural details in the neighborhood left no doubt about that! We did not hear any neighbors above us...a little bit of normal street noise at night and school children walking to school in the mornings. All happy sounds! Josette checked in with us several times during our stay to make sure we were comfortable. The apartment was just as described and we hope we can stay there again!!
What a great experience for our family of 3! Josette's apartment is perfectly appointed --- she has everything you could possibly need: comfy beds, all sorts of kitchen items, big fridge, coffee pot and a washer and dryer. The apartment is decorated very well and is very comfortable. It's so close to Luxumbourg Gardens and very close to a bakery and grocery store. Josette was very responsive to my questions, and I had many, so her quick response time and patience was appreciated.
This apartment was perfect for our family, and Josette and her husband were amazing. There is a lot of space with 2 separated bedrooms, a living room and a large dining room with a very nice view of the surroundings. It is a nice touch that there is a CD player with a huge number of varied CDs in the dining room, including some lovely French music. And there are plenty of books, including travel books about Paris and French phrase books which we found useful during our stay. The apartment has Paris charm with all the modern amenities, including a washer and dryer! One thing to note that is included in the charm is that some of the wooden floors creak. Our whole family could sleep through it and it wasn't a problem but we did try to be quieter on them if we got up at night, etc.
The location is wonderful. In a quiet neighborhood within short walking distance of the shops and restaurants of St. Germaine, the Latin Quarter and the Luxembourg Gardens-perfect for our 2 small children. The train is a short walk away as well.
Josette provides local recommendations and each one was a hit for us, from pizza to a bakery to restaurants. She had milk for our kids, water, juice and a delicious "cake" which I can only describe as a lightly sugared croissant cake, waiting for us. We arrived at night so this was so appreciated and really made us feel welcome after a very long trip.
I really can't say enough about this apartment and I would and have recommend/ed it.
