Easter Getaway!!!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for Easter weekend and had such a good time. First and for most we were allowed to check in early so our first day felt like a full day on vacation. The cabin is gorgeous and had everything we needed. Greg was so nice and just an email away for any questions. The cabin was so clean (and I mean spotless) and relaxing. My kids 4, 6, 14, and 15 loved every minute of it. We went down to the pier and the kids just dipped their rods in the water and caught fish that were hanging under the pier. Its just a short walk along the water to the big pier that also had sand for the kids to play in. Berkeley Springs is a very short drive from the cabin and we love the little town. The weather was so nice we were able to open the windows and get a beautiful cross breeze. The master bedroom has a screened porch off of it which was nice to have some quiet time or to lay in bed and read and listen to nature. It is so roomy that the seven of us never felt on top of each other. We will definitely come back to this cabin, next time we will take the canoe out.

Winter weekend getaway from DC

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic time in this beautiful and spacious log home. It was a a great mix of cabin feel and modern comfort. Despite the super cold weather, the hot tub stayed really warm! Some places I've been, this hasn't been the case. We absolutely loved the layout; the common space is huge, connecting the vaulted living room with the dining room and kitchen. This let everyone be together the whole time, while cooking or relaxing in front of the fire/great view form the couch. Good experience with the realtors as well. 10/10 would love to stay again!

Quilting Group

  • 5 of 5

This was our 5th year at this Log Home. A group of 6 quilting ladies here to do some real uninterupted quilting. Lots of room to spread out; everything you could ever ask for in a retreat space. We filled all the railings with our projects and had so much fun; we all hail this as our most relaxing weekend of the year. We look forward to returning to enjoy the serenity of the area, along with our annual visit to Berkeley Springs.

Best week ever!!!!

  • 5 of 5

We had such a good time, anytime we even had a minute to spare we were swimming and kayaking in the lake. My three grandsons who are 7 (twins) and 10 learned to kayak and with all the water floats even the adults were in the water. The house was so nice and had everything we needed. The state record for perch was 15 1/2 inches and my grandson caught one in the lake that was 14 1/2 inches. I would highly recommend this rental home for anyone who wants to spend a great relaxing time with their family!

Perfect family get away!!

  • 5 of 5

We looked long and hard for a place to take a week vacation from the farm and this is the cabin we choose. We had high expectations and were not disappointed. Everything was clean, spacious, accommodating and we felt so relaxed the entire time we were there. Our children ages 6, 4, 3, and 1 found plenty to keep them busy and we were pleased to have many options for things to do. They loved the toys in the closet and the game room in the basement complete with plenty of coloring books. The large floor puzzles were perfect although some were missing pieces. The hot tub was such a relaxer watching the stars in the crisp March air. We even ventured out in a kayak on a warm sunny day. The bedding was nice and it was a huge plus to not have to bring our own along or wash it. Overall very happy with our stay and reservations were quick and simple.

A Haven During the Blizzard of 2016

  • 5 of 5

We had no hesitation following through with our planned family vacation at the cabin, even when 3 feet of snow was forecast for Hedgesville. When we arrived, we knew we had chosen well! As the snow fell, we enjoyed the fireplace and games, and there's nothing that can compare to sitting in a beautiful hot tub while the snowflakes create an unbelievably beautiful landscape around you. The perfection of the house was that there was a table well suited to puzzle making, apart from the huge dining area, which made our puzzlers very happy. Also, because of how large the home is, if you needed a little alone time, you could find it in the loft, or a cozy corner of the living room. The kitchen was well appointed and had plenty of storage for all the provisions we had brought. Thanks to whoever left some vanilla extract in the cupboard, we were even able to make delicious snow ice cream! The mudroom right off the front porch was a great asset when we came in from sledding, and having a large capacity washer and dryer to use was a blessing. The beds were super comfortable and everything was very clean. The greatest miracle came Sunday morning after the snow stopped. We suited up to begin digging out our cars, which we had parked at the top of the property, and the road had already been plowed! This allowed our skiers to head to White Tail where they enjoyed an amazing day and had the slopes basically to themselves. We chose this location because my husband grew up vacationing in a cabin at Sleepy Hollow, but we'll be coming back in the future to make more memories with our family and grandchildren.
