The "Tonto House" is your perfect home base for all your outdoor adventures! Rejuvenate your spirit with clean air and breath taking views of Tonto Basin and two mountain ranges all from your patio. The Tonto House borders the Tonto National Forest and provides the serinity you need to relax and enjoy the outdoors. Secluded yet minutes to gas and groceries. Tonto House offers fun for the whole family with a full size billiards table, Horse Shoe Pit, Bat mitten and Bean bag in the Hole game. Inside a separate lounge room with big screen TV is a cozy place for entertainment or just relaxing and talking about the days adventures. After a day of fun and memories, the patio is the perfect place to unwind, barbecue and enjoy your favorite beverage around the fire pit. The Tonto House is the place where special times and good memories happen!

Cozy/fun lake getaway

We absolutely loved the property! It was spacious and clean and comfy! We enjoyed the outside patio area and bbq along with the pool table! We’ll definitely book again for our next Roosevelt trip!

Great vacation

Comfortable and fun. Far enough from the city to experience the wild but an easy drive to scottsdale. The grandchildren loved the game room and outside games as well as the lake and surrounding desert

Great place to stay!

Beautiful home with excellent accommodations indoor and out! Lots of space for all guests. The road up to the property is a bit narrow and the rocks on the road will make you slow down but we made it up hauling a full 20 ft trailer with our 1 ton dually. Owners are very easy to contact. We would stay again for sure!

Tonto House

Beautiful home with great amenities. It was our home base for 6 days while we explored the Tonto Basin and much more.It was great to have the fenced yard for our dog. Loved the fire pit and covered gazebo. Kitchen was well appointed, views were great. Cant say enough. We loved it

Beautiful home

This was a great place for a vacation. Very clean, had a problem with the water heater and Greg & Peggy were there within a couple hours to take care of it. I would recommend this vacation house to anyone looking to stay in Tonto Basin.

Peaceful Paradise

We always enjoy staying at The Tonto house. It's always clean and neat. It's views are amazing. We have fun playing pool and games or just relaxing on the porch in the peace and quiet. We have stayed here many times for many years. Greg and Peggy are always reponsive if I have questions too. Great place for our 2 dogs too.

The house itself is great and the pool table / games saw a lot of activity from our teenage son and his friend. We came to spend the weekend on Apache Lake and this home was only about 15 minutes to the Apache Trail turnoff by Roosevelt.I will mention that the property is located down a single lane dirt / gravel road - and it required some excellent trailering skills to get our truck and ski boat turned around in the driveway. So be mindful of that if you will be towing anything.I do wish the owner had been a bit more accessible - as there were a couple messages prior and during our stay that went unaddressed or the delayed response made our original inquiry irrelevant. But I am going to assume that’s due to us staying on a holiday weekend and I understand that the owner may have been busy. It would absolutely not prevent me from staying here regularly due to the comfort and convenience of the property!Thank you Greg and the Tonto House for a fantastic weekend full of lifelong memories on the lake! I’m sure we’ll see you again!

It’s so exciting when the home actually exceeds the expectations set by the online photos! We had a wonderful time while there and will absolutely be looking for dates to return! Communication with VRBO and the owners was great as well. Thank you for a fantastic time.

Peaceful getaway

We love the Tonto house. The fully fenced yard is great for dogs. We play pool, you can grill, watch a movie, badmiton, volleyball and cornhole. There are other games too. The house is always clean and inviting. The views are spectacular. We often see deer on out the kitchen and dining windows. The porch has super comfy couch and chairs for all. If it's cool there is a gas firepit outside too. This house is our peaceful getaway!

Great place, poor communication

Excellent property. Access code was not sent prior to stay. Luckily, I had one from a previous stay. No communication when I asked for the code. Would have been out of luck, and couldn’t have used the property if I hadn’t had the code from before. Traveled in from out of state. Very poor checkin situation.

I love creating special memories for others and The Tonto House allows me to do just that. Being a avid outdoorsman, I love fishing and boating on Roosevelt Lake and enjoying the many off road trails Tonto Basin has to offer.

Varför värden valde detta boende

This property (you are looking at) is the perfect location for all things adventure. Places to stay are so limited that I saw the need for a rental property that would be close to all the fun things to do here and also provide a restfull home to relax and enjoy after a day of sports and adventure for singles and family alike.

Vad som gör detta boende unikt

The Tonto House boarders the National Forest yet is minutes away from the market, hardware store and restaurants. The Tonto House is in the very center of adventure. To the south there's Roosevelt Lake (10.5 miles) with boating, fishing, skiing, swimming, sailing and personal water craft sports. To the West there is four Peaks Wilderness with hiking, mountain climbing, rock hounding, hunting and off road trails to explore. To the North is the Mazatzal mountains offering more adventure. To the East of Tonto Basin more adventure awaits in the Ancha Wilderness offering hiking, off road trails and trout fishing in Salome Creek. Don't forget to visit the Tonto National Monument and take the tour of cliff dwellings of the Salado Indian people.

After a day of fun... relax on the patio with your favorite beverage, start the Bar b Que and lite the fire pit feature. Get the gang together for a game of Horse Shoes or Bean Bag in the Hole and see who is lucky tonight. Some one may put out a challenge to a game of billiards and watch your favorite show the big screen. For those who want less excitement you can always retreat to the Tonto Lounge with comfortable seating and a big screen TV. What ever you mood, the Tonto House will accommodate you.
