We loved our stay in this beautiful and spacious home in close proximity to adorable Manchester and Bromley Mountain ski slopes. The owners are very communicative and welcoming. The home has lots of charm and lots of bedrooms with comfy beds. We can’t wait to return!
The house was perfect for my family to stay in while I was doing a race event at Stratton mountain. They loved the size and comfort of it and took the dining suggestions from Rebecca and Steven for food in town. Would definitely recommend this house to other friends and family!

Thank you so much for staying with us Tom! You were wonderful guests. Our doors are open to you all ANY TIME! Cheers! Rebecca & Steven
So happy we chose this property for our annual family vacation. The home was well kept and provided our family of 8 adults plenty of space for the week. Within walking distance to shopping and a variety of dining options. Just a short drive to Hildene and the Equinox trails.
We had a wonderful time in Manchester. This is a lovely old house with great period details. Very comfortable. The hosts were great and answered any questions very promptly. We certainly hope to be back here next year!
We had a wonderful stay thanks to Rebecca and Steven! The house is a walk into town which is extremely convenient and is large enough to comfortably fit the 10 of us. We were even lucky to see wild turkey and baby bears in the backyard. The house was nice and clean when checking in and checking out couldn’t of been easier. Will most definitely stay again!
My wife & I just sold our house in Manchester last May, so we were pretty familiar with the neighborhoods and the inventory. This is a terrific house for groups (and our doggo!) in a perfect location that's easily walkable to shops & restaurants.
Rebecca & Steven welcomed us (remotely) and responded very quickly to the few questions we had on arrival. Would definitely stay here again when we come back to the area.
Adult siblings and spouses shared this house for a few days and it was perfect! The house was spotless and beautifully decorated. There were multiple rooms for socializing. The house had everything we needed, and was within walking distance of the Manchester restaurant district. We highly recommend!
We booked this really comfortable house for our family while attending a multi-family reunion. Perfect space for hanging out and two king and two queen beds. We (the parents) took the beautiful third floor suite with so much sunlight and a soaking tub. My adult children and significant others each had own rooms and a TV when they needed break from Thanksgiving overload.
Property owners lovely and helpful. Plenty of beds and seating areas. Master suite has beautiful view. Kitchen is updated, though a tight fit for larger groups. Description states it sleeps 10, but we had 6 and that # felt like the max in terms of water usage/# of bathrooms and kitchen gathering space. Close to town - very convenient! Had some issues with alarms and heat and owners were responsive. It is someone’s home, rather than purely a rental property, so expect to see their food/belongings in the home. Handy when you need Italian Seasoning, but odd to find clothes in the master drawers. Lovely stay.

Sorry about that Caroline. We actually dont live in the house, its a vacation property, but tend to leave kitchen items in the kitchen for the convenience of every renter. We have since cleared out a full cabinet for guest use. As far as clothing, nothing of ours is in drawers. We use drawers for sheet towel and blanket storage for renters so anything of a personal nature must have been left by another renter. Our owners closet isn't for guest use, which is why those drawers are filled. We hope you enjoyed the extras we afforded your group by putting up all of the Christmas decorations and the extra salting we did on the walkways. Its our aim to always go above and beyond for our guests. Hope you had a very Merry Christmas. :-)

Eclectic, old, damp in summer, has potential
This is a very beautiful old 1910 home that needs love and a very deep deep-cleaning! We somewhat enjoyed it, but would not stay here again. One of the bedrooms on the second floor leaked during a rainstorm so we had to put out a soup pot. It was humid and the rest of the home was very damp the entire time-- there were no dehumidifiers. The floors were sticky. We wore socks. One bedroom had a fridge stuffed with gross half-eaten food. For the price, we expected better in terms of cleanliness. The porches were filthy: covered with grime, unswept, wall cobwebs, wasp nests, paint peeled so badly that we wondered if our small kids were being exposed to lead, rotting front stairs. The side entryway porch was dirty and entryway was full of owner stuff: fake xmas tree, cans of insect killer/pesticides, tools, etc. Upon entering and following the instructions for the key code, a burglar alarm went off, scaring us all! I guessed the password and it worked. Most kitchen shelves were packed with half-eaten food (former guests? who knows) and there was no shelf space except for an empty & clean kitchen fridge. Kitchen gear were stuffed haphazardly into spaces with random stuff & messy. Half-full liquor bottles were stashed around (below a globe, on a side table) Downstairs bathroom stunk like urine, we washed it daily ourselves to no avail. We would not stay here again and wish the owners the best of luck in cleaning up this lovely antique home, which has lots of potential!

Hi Erin, Im so sorry you had a bad experience with us. Our home has been a labor of love since we bought it 4 years ago, as all old homes, they have quirks. We don't have central heat and air, which we made clear on the listing. It's been very humid this summer, so sorry about that. We are installing heat pumps this fall. The antique slate roof sprung a leak during your stay because of the massive amounts of rain this season, and has since been fixed. Yes there is a hardware and gardening shelf when you walk in, for the convenience of our grounds keeper. The back fridge with open items is an owners fridge, and is not intended for guest use, as it says in the guest book. . As for liquor bottles, They are most likely a result of a past tenant. We have our cleaners leave things like this for guest use. Seemed more sensible than just throwing away. As for the disorganized pots and pans, We do not require our cleaners (who are often doing a very tight turn around) to reorganize the cabinets in between guest visits, but rather do that at season end. I wish we had control over guest tidiness but the reality is that we just don't. As for the porch it is in fact being redone this Fall. The pollen has been incredible this summer which is the dust you saw. The cleaners sweep in between renters but there is only so much they can do about that.
As for the security alarm, we gave you that code before you entered. The alarm is there for people to feel safe. Im so sorry it scared you.
Good luck to you and your family.
Best,
Rebecca & Steven
We had a very nice time at this house. So many bedrooms, lots of living space. Sound does travel through the house so if you go with a group, expect to hear noise. There are also only two bathrooms, which can be challenging if the house is full. But that is fully disclosed in the listing. The house feels very clean and new in an area that has lots of older houses.
The house is spectacular and beautifully updated while maintaining many original features. It's huge (we closed off the entire second floor) and has everything you need to feel at home. It's conveniently located close to everything in Manchester, but doesn't feel like you're "in town." We spent a lot of time grilling and hanging out on the giant back porch. Steve and Rebecca are fantastic hosts - easy to contact and provided great recommendations of where to eat, what to do, etc. Thanks for the great stay!!
This is an excellent property - 100+ years old house but updated to modern standards. House was clean, comfortable and has a well stocked kitchen. All 'consumables' were provided, including firewood. Location is excellent in terms of getting to Manchester and the surrounding hills. Owners were very responsive to our queries. Thank you very much for letting us stay at this property.
This is our 4th trip to Manchester and so happy with the home. Great location. Amazing space, great for families. Wonderful to wake up to the views of the mountains. Kids loved having their own TV. Rebecca and Stephen are very responsive to any and all questions. Thank you for the wonderful stay.
Wonderful hosts, incredibly accomodating, kind and hospitable! Always responded to questions quickly. The house itself is massive and very well-kept. Kitchen was EXTREMELY well-stocked. Plenty of extra towels and blankets in all of the rooms/bathrooms. Location is unbeatable.

About the host
Hosted by Steven & Rebecca
Young married couple, mid to late 30's from NYC who fell in love with Manchester, VT after our first visit. We hope you enjoy our home and the town of Manchester and much as we do. Have fun.
Why they chose this property
We have tried to make our space feel more like a home and mountain getaway rather than just a place to stay. We have a newly renovated kitchen, (we love to cook) and from the master bedroom you will wake up to a beautiful view of the Vermont Green Mountains.
What makes this property unique
The home is located right downtown, with in walking distance to all the great outlets and stores Manchester Center has to offer. We are also right next to one of Vermont's best pizza locations.
