The untainted, sugar white sands of Blue Mountain Beach are too spectacular for words, and our beach entrance is one of only eight beaches in all of Walton County with a manned lifeguard station (during season) to add to your comfort and peace of mind.

Then there is CARL’S CABANA where you can relax, let your hair down and allow the cares of the world be carried off in the sea breezes. We have worked hard to make Carl's Cabana into a true home away from home. This 2 bedroom, 2 bath home has comfortable furnishings and deluxe 500+ count bed linens and plenty of fluffy towels for real sized people. There is wireless internet and HBO is featured on all TVs.

The master suite has a king bed and flat screen HD TV w/DVD and an iHome clock stereo for your favorite tunes. The second bedroom has both a full and a queen bed and its own bath with an oversized whirlpool bath with shower. The living room has a sofa bed (queen), a flat screen HD TV w/DVD as well as a stereo with mp3 connections. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could want. The large, private sunset view terrace is perfect for catching some rays or star gazing the night away. The deck is fully furnished with a gas grill, large dining table and warm sea breezes.

Located on Blue Mountain Rd., south of 30A, and directly across from beautiful Blue Mountain Beach, it is a perfect place for either a romantic getaway or a trip to the beach with family or friends. It is one of the rare spots that has not been overrun with commercialization located on a quiet street (with no high-rises) and a beach that's never crowded, even during Spring Break! Yet Carl’s Cabana is just only minutes from fine dining, shopping and renown golf . Within easy walking distance, there are many local restaurants, shops and services who love to cater to our guests. Southwest Airlines' service available through the Panama City International Airport (just 30 min. away) makes life even easier. But best of all, the BEACH is heaven on earth!

As a bonus, our guests enjoy exclusive membership privileges to enjoy the extra large pool and workout amenities at the nearby Blue Mountain Beach Club. Since membership to the Beach Club is restricted, the pool and exercise room are never crowded.

My wife, Beth, and I live in Nashville, TN where I work in commercial real estate and Beth is an attorney. Now that we are empty nesters, and we love to travel. Why Carl chose Beaches of South Walton

Why? It is very simple, it was the area. Blue Mountain Beach still retains that small seaside atmosphere. It's quiet, a mix of private homes and condos. There are small family run business around us (we adore the ice cream shop). Carl's Cabana is a townhouse in a complex of only 8 units. And the parking is directly beside the front door. It's free of all the daily stress, just what a vacation should be.

What makes this townhome unique

I enjoy getting up early, grabbing a mug of coffee and going out for a walk along Blue Mountain Rd. It's always free of traffic and you get to meet your neighbors. Everyone is very friendly. I might walk down Blue Mountain Rd. and then go down to the beach and walk back on the sand. I also love to bike and the area is very bike friendly with bike lanes and bike paths everywhere.

Beth loves to head down to the beach with a good book and just read. The beach never gets crowded and the pictures here are of the beach at our beach entrance. You can enjoy the beach without being overrun. There are fisherman going after pompano and others gather crab at sunset.

In the evening there is plenty of nightlife just a short distance away. Great locally owned restaurants to satisfy every taste and budget. For those who want to eat in, there is a Publix just a short distance away or great take out pizza at the local Irish Pub. I know but really it is the best!. Want more nightlife or shopping? Then venture into Destin and enjoy the outlet mall and the high end shops at The Grand Boulevard. Or take in an outdoor movie at Seaside, just minutes down 30A.

We just love everything about the area and Beth has really gone overboard to create a special comfortable cocoon with everything that we need. Our guests get to enjoy Carl's Cabana, just like we keep our own home far above the standard vacation rentals.

Thank you for sharing your home with us. We had an amazing visit and loved the condo and the community. We plan to return next year. Anyone looking for a fine dining experience should try Vintage on 98, across from Silver Sands, and Bowery on 30a was our favorite walk to place for a glass of wine and weekend music! Ladies, the nail place up the street in Redfish complex was terrific.

Cold Spring Break!

Although the weather was cold and miserable 4/7 days we had a wonderful Spring Break! The condo was exactly as pictured and very clean. The kitchen was fully stocked making cooking in fun. The beach was closer than we thought and the bathrooms at the public access came in handy.

Carl was a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend Carl's Cabana! Maybe next year the weather will be as a nice as Carl's Cabana.

Snowbirds or sunbirds :-)

We have stayed at Carl's Cabana previously, and were happy for the 2 month opening this winter. It is just across from the Gulf access, so going to get some sunshine or visit others was easy. We walked a lot and met nice people doing the same, but it's a great area for bikers, and there is a lot to do. A great tip is to check the 30a website daily with updates and activity suggestions. The condo itself is fully functional with whatever things you might want to do, or ideas in the activity book. The area has a very small town feel to it, if that is what you want, but going West to busy Gulf Place with a pretty beach access or East into Seaside, etc, where it is much busier. One of the side streets in Seaside takes you up to a large Publix, and the condo's street too, CR83, takes you up 2 miles or so to Highway 98 for faster passage to Destin or Panama City Beach. Yes! we will return, and this condo has it all.

Great Place, Amazing Location

Right in the heart of 30-A, Carl's Cabana is steps away from a great, family friendly beach with all amenities, including the option to rent beach chairs and umbrellas and equally close, the opportunity to rent bicycles. The road between the unit and the beach is "less- traveled" and quiet, which makes it even better for family safety. Stores are close by, as is the Creamery.

The unit itself is comfortable and accommodated my 17 year old and her friends, while providing enough room for the adults to stay out of their way. The games, books and DVD's provided an outlet for my seven year old as well.

We will definitely return.

Early June 2015 stay

The pictures really do not do this property justice. The inside of the unit is immaculately well kept and clean and beautifully decorated. The location to the beach is wonderful. Couldn't be closer unless you were directly on the beach, very short walk. Having a lifeguard stand and restrooms at the access was a huge plus! It was also walking distance to restaurants and Blue Mountain Creamery for ice cream. The bike access was also very convenient to the unit. Our area was very quiet, which made for a very peaceful stay and was nice not to have to worry about heavy traffic with the kids. We also loved that a pool was just a few minutes drive away, and our kids really enjoyed that. Only thing I would add is to be aware that although the master is private and upstairs away from the bottom floor, there isn't a door to separate it from the stairs, just a landing. Other than that, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Carl's Cabana and would happily stay there again!

mom, Daughter & Granddaughter Getaway

Three ladies just getting away for a week near the ocean. We all think this is one of the most beautiful beaches we've seen. The condo was so close to the beach - a very short walk across the street, which was great. The Blue Mountain Ice Cream shop just a block away was great as well. Kind of a small town atmosphere that we liked, yet shops, restaurants and bike trails were very close. Several gorgeous beaches nearby. This unit was the perfect size for us. Carl was kind enough to email some beach restaurant options while we were here. I would return and I would recommend this to a friend.

Amazing retreat!!

Perfect locale for a long weekend! My husband & I have been fortunate enough to stay here on a couple of occasions and could not have been more thrilled. Beautifully decorated, conveniently located to restaurants, shopping and paddle boarding...far enough away to be a peaceful retreat! Rent bikes nearby and discover other area beaches. Thank you for sharing your lovely getaway!

Blue Mountain Beach is such an ideal location, and is unspoiled by heavy commercialization one finds elsewhere. It's a place that you feel is private, yet 10 minutes away you will find all the things you want. A few examples follow.

Grayton Beach State Park 2 miles. Huge trail system for road and mountain bikes. Bring your bike, the entire area is bike friendly!!! The beaches of Santa Rosa were judged by Yahoo Travel, 2011, to be one of the Top 10 most beautiful beaches in the world. The beach has two life guards on duty (during season), and very clean restrooms. The use of the Blue Mountain Beach Club with its 9000 square foot pool and workout room is included in the rental.

Be sure to check out the Hurricane Oyster Bar (yummmm) just of 30a at the intersection to Grayton Beach, The Great Southern in the Seaside Circle, with its wonderful mojitos and happy hour, not to mention their James Beard chef and Sundog Books right next door. Live entertainment can often be found in the amphitheater in the circle. It's just 4 miles to the east. Then there is their sister restaurant, The Bay, located on 331 at the traffic light just before the Bay Bridge. If you like sushi, try their hot mess, my favorite.

Your welcome package will include a map highlighting the places we like, and the Silver Sands Outlet Mall. Great shopping and great deals on brand names in San Destin just to the west on 98, about 8 miles away.

If you get a chance and just want dinner and a movie, you can do both at the same time at the Ovation Movie Theater at the Boulevard 10 Cinema at the Grand Boulevard shopping complex on 98 to the west in Sandestin. Check them out online. Big comfortable seats with fold out tables. Orders taken at and delivered to your seat throughout the movie, and the food is really good.

The completing and return of our rental agreement is part of the booking process. The agreement will be forwarded to you upon a request for booking. The reservation will be firm once both the agreement and payment are received. All payments made within sixty days of the arrival date may be forfeited if reservation is canceled or the rental agreement is not returned. In the event of a cancellation, owner will make a good faith effort to re-book the unit and mitigate all or part of any forfeited funds.
