Great Place to Rest and Relax

The condo is just as it is advertised in VRBO. The kitchen is fully stocked for cooking, which my wife did quite a few times during our stay there. You will have to buy spices, butter, and anything else you need to season your food, but as far as dishes go, the place has everything. The view is beautiful, and I spent quite a bit of time on the screened in patio overlooking the pool and the ocean. The complex is in a very quiet area of Marathon, and we enjoyed going out at night for walks. You will need a car to reach everything, but a ten minute drive gets you to grocery stores, places to eat, and some neat activities (turtle hospital, Sombrero Beach). You are also strategically placed to enjoy both Key West and Key Largo. We especially loved driving to Key West as we got to drive over the 7 mile bridge. The water on both sides of the span was amazing.

The beds were comfortable, I don't think I have slept that soundly or that long for quite a while. Our kids like sleeping on the rollaway bed that was provided, and we had plenty of linens to choose from. The place was really clean and everything worked well. The caretaker was a really nice guy and would always ask us how we were doing and ask us if there was anything else we needed. We had a great time swimming in the heated pool, and there were a few times we stayed in for a couple of hours at a time. My kids (ages 7 and 8) had a blast and my wife and I were able to relax. We would definitely recommend the place to other families, couples, etc. It is definitely not a luxury condo, but the value of the place was unbeatable and it has everything you need. Chris, the owner, was always prompt with emails and we had no trouble getting into the place the night we arrived. If you have a chance, go.

Perfect for Small Families

We had a great vacation here. It was great having the pool and beach right outside our door and it was the perfect amount of space for our family of three. Chris and Kevin were great to deal with. It's also located close to lots of restaurants and is just a short drive to many other Keys. We would definitely stay here again.

Another wonderful Marathon vacation

This was our fourth visit to the same condo and was simply perfect. The Royal Palm complex is geared towards couples or families seeking a quiet and beautiful setting with a nice beach ( rare in the Keys) and a good pool. We really like the location which is away from traffic but close to a marina, a couple of good restaurants and Curry Hammock State Park. There is plenty to do, whether you want to explore the area or stay home and swim or walk the beach. This particular one bedroom unit is very pretty, peaceful and comfortable. The owner Chris Frost was very kind and helpful, as were the site managers Kevin, Becky and Megan. We feel so welcome that we are already planning our FIFTH visit next year.

Great Condo!

We had a great week in this condo. It had a great view of the pool and the ocean. the beach Had a nice palm tree to keep cool and read. The condo was very clean, had a nice firm bed, was decorated well. We would definitely return.

Comfortable Stay in Marathon

Everything went smoothly for us staying in Chris' condo.

The essential things needed were to hand and the place was easily spacious enough for the two of us. The bed was like ours at home which was a bonus.

Bathroom had a lovely shower with plenty of hot water.

Our only small criticisms would be the 'check out' day, and another incident, which had nothing to do with the owner. We had clear instructions it was 11am on the paperwork but the staff employed at the complex obviously ignore that. 8.30 am on the Sunday (our departure day) I answered the door to find the cleaner wanting access to place to clean everywhere and I politely informed here we were not ready, and she should come back at lunch time. However 10am she knocked again and I tried again to tell her she was too early. She wasn't impressed! We were beginning to feel really harassed by her attitude as we were not doing anything wrong.

The other incident occurred a couple of days before when the grounds man decided to use a very loud leaf blower in the stair well behind the bedroom wall. Good idea yes but not at 8am when people are suppose to be relaxing on holiday. The noise was terrific and we bolted out of bed to see what on earth was going on.

As I say though ~ both of these issues are not related to Chris the owner and it certainly did not ruin our holiday at the condo. We found Chris to be most helpful and he gave us some good tips of where to go eat, sight see etc. Nice guy!

nice property. As advertised

We enjoyed our stay. Property staff was very friendly and helpful.

My one suggestion is to add a blender to the well stocked kitchen so guest can make Margaritas.
