  • Perfect Getaway

"We recently stayed in unit 9 for one week, and loved every minute of it. The park that the units are located in is very well kept, and the residents definitely show pride in ownership. The beds were comfortable, the A/C worked very well, the kitchen was fully stocked, and best of all was the outside area. The landscaping is beautiful, and the birds plentiful! So many flowers! The patio was pretty private, and each unit has it's own gas grill for bar-b-que dinners. The units feature original artwork and hand crafted furniture, which was really cool. Hans and Lisa were there on the weekend, and were friendly and accommodating. The jetty is at the end of a picturesque, tree covered path, and it was one of my favorite things about this place. You can see a bunch of fish, horseshoe crabs, and even a small shark! It's the perfect place to go at the end of the day, to watch the sunset. The pool was very clean and the water was warm. I can't say enough about this place! The only bad thing was the noseeums. Not too many mosquitos, but the noseeums ate me up. I came up with a solution that I recommend to everyone: wear long sleeves, pants, and socks at night and in the morning. I brought a very light long sleeve button up blouse, and it kept them off of me, along with leggings and footie socks with sandals. Quite the sight, I know, but the park is so quiet that nobody really saw me. :) This little precautionary measure enabled me to take walks at night to star gaze. To be fair, noseeums are a problem pretty much anywhere in the Keys. Just dress for them. If the opportunity arises again-and I'm sure it will-I will definitely stay here. Grassy Key is close enough to Marathon that you have everything you need, and far enough away to be away from the crowds. Sombrero Beach is the perfect beach-not too crowded, shallow water that is crystal clear, and lots of trees at the South end for shade."

  • Relaxing waterfront - clean and comfortable

"A perfect home for our group: five adults and four teens. The teens wanted to share a bedroom and the bunk beds were perfect. The two living rooms allowed everyone to spread out to talk or read while others watched TV; yet all nine fit in the living room comfortably together. Plenty of outdoor seating, although most of us preferred to sit on the wall near the water. Outdoor grilling was our preferred cooking method. The indoor pool was wonderful. Bathrooms are updated and clean. Enjoyed the walk-in rain shower. The "teen" bathroom was perfect -- double sinks in one area and a pocket door to separate the toilet/shower area -- allowed the teens to get ready together. The extra refrigerator in the garage came in handy. Nice washer/dryers. The house is in a great location - close to Turtle Hospital, Dolphin Research Center, Boondocks, Sombrero Beach, Bahia Honda Beach and approx. 1 hour from Key West. The neighborhood is nice for a jog and long walks. We had one glitch upon arrival which Jackie quickly took care of; also the sliding glass doors to get in to and out of the house were a bit challenging (humidity?) but that didn't stop us! Thanks Tudor and Jim, you were fantastic to work with. We appreciate your quick response to our inquiries/emails. The views are breathtaking; the sunsets across the water were wonderful; and the house is beautiful. Highly recommend this oasis; close to everything yet away from it all!"
