My sons wedding

I’ve always dreamed of having all of my family together in one rental when one of my kids gets married..and this property was perfect for that. The initial 2 days I was there alone. The house and views were breathtaking! Days 3 & 4 everyone started arriving and the house started to feel the pressure of people being inside. When issues happened Callie, the property host, was a phone call away! Even though she was a teacher, she took the time to help and call maintenance to assist in the everything that was needed. The refrigerator stopped working, she got a new one delivered..one of the rooms wouldn’t cool, she sent an a/c guy..some light bulbs were out..a maintenance guy was over w/I the hour! The house was just magnificent and everyone loved it! Thanks Callie for a memorable week!!

Amazing wedding weekend

Our stay was amazing. We traveled there to celebrate our son’s wedding. The house was beautiful and had anything and everything you could ever need. Watching the cranes on the water in the mornings was so peaceful. We had two small hiccups and Callie was very responsive and efficient. I would definitely recommend staying here. We would love to go back!

Great weekend getaway with friends!

Our group had a great time at this beautiful country home! The view over the pond and pasture is mesmerizing, and everything was clean and ready for our visit. We enjoyed the fire pit, did some fishing, explored around the acreage and were able to just hang out. The host was very responsive when we had questions, and to tell us about the area. All good!

Property description inaccurate, cleaning and maintenance issues

• Missing and disconnected smoke detectors / CO2 monitors • Kitchen sink faucet is leaking • The kitchen oven and the cook top grill had not been cleaned in a very long time and were covered with grease and burned food (we had to clean these in order to use them) • We are unable to turn on the stove top fan and lighting. A working stove exhaust fan is needed. • The patio BBQs are completely rusted out and should be removed. • One stone bench at the fire pit is broken. • There is some issue with the HVAC system. While all thermostats are set to 70 degrees cool, the downstairs 2nd bedroom was blowing 85 degree hot air. • Water is leaking in the freezer which was covered in a thick layer of ice that needed to be removed prior to use. • All patio furniture was filthy and covered in spider webs; all needed to be completely scrubbed prior to anyone’s use. • Many light bulbs are burned out throughout the house. • Many of the outside electrical wires are in poor condition and need to be completely removed by an electrician. There is a shop light connected to the patio lights that was plugged in with bare wires that we disconnected. The waterfront lights and wires are broken and likely are an electrical hazard. There are broken light bulbs laying on the ground next to some of the light fixtures. • There is garbage throughout the outside including broken glass, beer bottle tops, empty bug killer spray bottle, and other items between the outside wall and the bushes. • Half used soap bars were left in the showers from the previous guests. (Like a hotel, single user, wrapped soap should be provided, not left over soap bars.) • The master bedroom does not have any curtains. (Many would like to sleep in past sunrise). • Many windows screens are ripped or missing. • The door to the upstairs attic should have been locked and a no-admittance sign posted (I thought it was another bedroom and stepped in). • Many of the light switches and fans should be labeled so guests know where they go. • There should be a guest handbook explaining many of the systems. • At best, this facility sleeps 8 (4 couples). We do not see a futon in the game room • Nearly everyone assumes Wi-Fi connectivity. If you are not going to provide it, you should make it clear from the start that there is none and everyone should bring their own hot spot. • Outside and garage lights are filled with animal droppings.

You won't regret staying here!

My family and I stayed here for my son's wedding in Leonard, TX. We lucked into finding this home in Howe and made memories that will last a life time. There were times that we had almost 30 people here and we never felt cramped. We had the rehearsal dinner on the property and Callie and her husband did the catering. It was perfect and the food was fabulous. The owner and her husband are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. The property is everything it says it is and absolutely beautiful. Thanks, Callie for going above and beyond to make our week one of the best ever!

Great house and land, with plenty to do for everyone.

My family and I were fortunate to be the first to rent this gem. Being a new listing there were a couple of small glitches, but in each case Callie very quickly over-corrected and made sure they wouldn't occur again. She was very committed to ensuring we had a great stay. The house and land are great, with plenty to do for everyone. It's like camping, but with all the modern amenities, including good cell reception. We had a lot of fun fishing and hanging out by the pond. The fire pit is so awesome we enjoyed it every night…during a heat wave. And while it feels very remote, anything we needed was only 20 minutes away. I highly recommend this place.
