A peaceful, pet-friendly escape nestled in the woods and bordered by a stream. Perfect for hikers, skiers, and nature lovers, the chalet is less than 500 yards from Smugglers’ Notch Resort and just minutes from the Long Trail.

From October to May, the scenic notch road to Stowe is closed—the alternate drive is about 50 minutes and just as beautiful.
Note; Upstairs beds and loft access via a steep, narrow staircase—full of charm but not for everyone

Absolute gem of a place to stay. The creek that runs behind is the perfect soundtrack for relaxing evening. We ate every meal on the deck overlooking the water. Host is wonderful and very communicative. We would absolutely book here again if we find ourselves in the area!

The cabin is cozy - perfect for two - and had all needed amenities and a few welcoming touches. The location is peaceful without being too remote and the host was easy to communicate with.

Lovely little cabin in the woods with a (secret...just between you and me and the owner...shhh) wonderfully whispering stream below the deck. Prepare for a workout on the stairs, which the owner is frank about in the description. Just makes you plan your ascents and descents, that's all. Convenient location to the Notch, and the resort but I'd return just to sit on the deck and contemplate the quiet and the brook. Owner is easy to communicate with and has a sense of humor.

Great Autumn Trip

We loved staying at the cozy mountain chalet. It was spotless with a well equipped kitchen. We chose to stay in one night to cook a meal and enjoy the beautiful view while dining at the cabin. We would stay here again.

A Dream Come True

This was our first visit to Vermont, I would highly reccomend any of the Notch Lodges. Everything was just as pictured and described. The manager communicated extremely well the entire time. Private, quiet, clean, comfortable, and relaxing. We will be back!!

Weekend getaway

My wife and I enjoyed staying here. Nice location. The only thing is the stairs to go up to the bedrooms are really steep and narrow and were a little hard getting up and down. Also I wish the windows or doors would have screens so you can leave open to hear the stream but too many bugs.

Jefferson Chalet

My wife and I loved the Chalet. Great location - quiet and private - a beautiful stream running behind. A great back porch to sit and enjoy nature from. Chalet was in great condition, well functioning TV, washer dryer, etc. Maude and her husband live in the area and are very responsive to any issues that may arise. Definitely would stay there again.

Sweet, comfortable little cottage. Quiet, convenient location. Maude was very communicative and responsive to our needs. Very quickly took care of drying and sending us the clothes that we inadvertently left in the washing machine. Thank you!! Only issue of note is that the stairs leading to the bedrooms are very narrow and steep. Some stair treads would improve safety, as the steps are slippery if wearing socks.

The cutest cottage….

This place is perfection. The beautiful creek behind the cottage is breathtaking, it’s a cozy little place in the woods. So nice and quiet. The inside is clean, beautiful, perfect for a family of four. The host is very responsive and kind. We will be back. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
