I'm back at work today...sitting at my desk and wishing I was still sitting on the big front porch at Ryan House! Your home was perfect for our needs. It was cozy, but still felt spacious enough for our family of five to spread out a little bit. We had everything we needed to prepare several meals in the kitchen. The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and beautifully appointed. Every detail, from the plantings outside to the paintings on the walls, was lovely! Thank you for allowing us to use your beautiful home!

We have owned this property more than a decade---it's named after our first born daughter Ryan. Ryan House, has a lot of charm and history. The house was originally built in the 30's and has weathered the 2 worst Hurricanes in U.S. history, Camille and Katrina(Andrew for Florida folks). We have renovated the house twice---one time was planned and the second was following Katrina. We have saved a lot of the character of the structure and added modern amenities. The main feature we love is the porch and those endless breezes.

Why Owner chose Gulfport
The Gulf Coast is the best place to be. From New Orleans to Destin, there is always something to see and new discoveries to be made. This location is central to all of the exciting things on the coast. The casinos are fun-the beaches, boating and local cuisine can't be beat.
What makes this House unique
The main benefit of being on the coast is to relax. We are across the street from the beach. This means you are only a boat ride away from exploring Ship Island. Island View Casino is just a few minutes away offering a great buffet. We also like the outlet mall just up Highway 49.

A Charming Old Southern Home
We stayed here while we were in town for a Gulfport High School Reunion...This house is in a quaint neighborhood just a couple of blocks from downtown and right across from the beach. Salute, the excellent Italian restaurant is just down the street, as is Shaggy's, a great seafood place, and The Chimneys, which has a very fine Sunday brunch. The view of the Gulf from the front porch is wonderful....perfect for eating breakfast or having a cold drink and just looking out at the sparkling blue water and enjoying the breeze. Staying in the house is very much like actually living in Gulfport...It feels like home. The kitchen is large, well equipped and also has a great view of the Gulf, which is such a nice way to start the day. The floors are authentic restored pine and feel great under bare feet...The parking is on the street, right in front of the house, which makes loading and unloading easy. It's not new construction...there is no spa, hot tub, impressive pool, fountain or fitness center....but it does offer the warm feeling of a genuine old home that has been lived in and loved. If that is what you're looking for, it's perfect.

We had everything at our fingertips that we needed.
loved the beach views while cooking in the kitchen
and while relaxing on the comfy couch in the living room....we enjoyed our stay and will come back again! <3
Lovely home and neighborhood.
The Ryan house is a truly wonderful place to stay. All the comforts of home in an old south neighborhood. You can sit on the lovely front porch and watch the Gulf Coast. It is an easy walk to the beach and several neighborhood restaurants and bars.
Cozy and charming.
My family and I loved Ryan house! It was loaded with charm and convenient to beach and food. Great trip!
Thoroughly enjoyed staying in the Ryan House!
My family and I decided to vacation in Gulfport, MS this year. My wife and kids love the beach. So, upon searching Gulfport rentals close to the beach, I came upon the Ryan House. The reviews do not do it justice. It is an AWESOME little home with just the right amount of space for four visitors. The inconvenience of one bathroom was far outweighed by the amenities of home, the high-speed internet connection, the stone's throw location to the beach, and the pleasant location of the property. All of us hated to leave. The owners were quick to answer when we had a question and were more than helpful. Thank you for a great vacation experience in Gulfport! We will definitely be back!
Very nice place
Very quiet street. Close to the beach, however, we ended up driving around and found a nice beach area at the end of the bridge btwn Biloxi and Ocean Springs; on the Ocean Springs side. The beaches in this area are not very attractive, I'll just leave it at that.
The house was very nice and had all the things we needed. The kitchen had pans and utensils we needed bc we only ate out for lunch. It's very convenient to Biloxi if you're into gaming (which we weren't) but if you'd prefer to stay away from the hotel atmosphere, this is the way to go.
The weather gave us several showers and one day of mostly rain. Fortunately it's very close other activities. We went to the Altitude trampoline park on the rainy day. We also spent a day at the Gulf Islands water park (it was nice to not have to deal with sand for a day). Both are about 15 mins back up the main road.
There's also a lot of piers you can fish off of and apparently you can drop a net with a chicken leg off the pier and catch blue crab. There were a lot of people catching coolers full of crab.
I would suggest checking on the DVD capabilities, or leaving instructions. We rented a movie for our daughter one night & couldn't get the TV input to change to AV from the U-verse. I tried calling all 3 numbers that were on the fridge but no answer. I didn't leave a msg bc it was a moot point, time forwe just took the movie back.
My one big concern was how all the windows are painted shut. I left a key in the deadbolt all the time just so the key was easy to locate if needed for an emergency.
The front porch is a nice area; we didn't use it much bc it was muggy in late July, but I'm sure it's nice to use when a little cooler.
Shaggy's is right across the street; great place to eat. You can just walk over. We ate there twice. Great po-boys, shrimp, and the Beach Balls appetizer is great.
There's an Italian place and a couple other restaurants a block away, didn't eat there though.
The bathroom is big with a jacuzzi tub and 2 sinks, with towels, etc.
And the washer/dryer works great and came in handy. Just leave the door closed if you're watching tv.
Overall we had a nice time. We would rent this again if we come back, however, we only just started going to the beach regularly because we have kids now. We've been going to a different beach every year, kind of "trying them out."
The reason I gave 4 stars was because of the windows; it just made me uneasy thinking if there was a fire.
