Rob and Stephanie Richards. Sundance is quite possibly the greatest place on earth. We are excited to share it with you. This cabin was built and designed by the Richards family and has been well taken care of.
Stephanie purchased this Cabin in 1998
Why Stephanie chose Sundance
When looking for a location to build our cabin, nothing could compare to Sundance! The cabin is just a short drive up beautiful Provo canyon and is nestled in the amazing Sundance Resort made famous by Robert Redford. While at Sundance you feel like you are secluded in the majesty of the mountains, but with all the conveniences of a big city, Provo, just 15 minutes away. A 30 minute drive takes you to the fun and excitement of Park City and Deer Valley. The Entertainment options are endless at Sundance. Skiing. new Zip Line. Horseback riding. Nordic Center. Hiking trails.
What makes this Cabin unique
There are many fun things to do at Sundance ALL year round. Spring provides budding forests, wildlife and a roaring rivers and creeks. Summer's calm temperatures are a welcome respite from the scorching heat of the valley. You can hike Mount Timpanogos or Stewart Falls or just take a leisurely stroll around Sundance Resort, or take the ski lift to the top of the mountain, and back down again. The amazing Fall colors of Provo canyon are something no one should miss. Winter brings world class skiing on the greatest snow on earth! But, I must admit, when you are in the cabin it's hard to leave. You can spend the day simply reading a book on the back porch swing in the summer, taking a steam or sauna in the spa room or soaking in the hot tub during a cold winter day. And what is better than catching a movie in your own private theater. You will love cooking in this gourmet kitchen and watching the wildlife outside the window. At night you can have fun listening to your favorite CDs that can be heard in the kitchen, family room and hot tub area outside. Games can be played in the large family room or up in the recreation loft. There is so much to do in Sundance, make sure you spend enough time with us to do it all!

Great weekend at Sundance!
This house was perfect for our family reunion! Well-stocked kitchen, beautiful decks, good beds, awesome theater, lots of extra bedding, including sleeping bags! I especially appreciated that there were two high chairs and portable cribs. The kids loved the "secret playhouse" downstairs. Communication with the manager was prompt and clear. Would definitely recommend to others.
sundance wedding weekend
we were more than satisfied with this property. We had 3 generations with us and this place had room for all. The kitchen was amply stocked with pots, pans, dishware and even a spice drawer! Bedrooms were clean and comfortable. Parking was a bit of a challenge as we had SUV's and there is no street parking but we figured it out! I would recommend this property and we will definitely stay here again should we find ourselves back in Sundance.
Perfect mountain getaway!
This mountain home was amazing! From the hot tub, spa, theater room, some competitive foosball, to making s’mores right out the back door, there were smiles all around!
It was nice to also have a house full of cooking supplies, paper towels, toilet paper, laundry soap, ice, shampoo, conditioner, firewood, spices and plenty of towels, bedding, and blankets. But best of all our bed was sooo comfortable!
Though I think the adults loved the indoor fireplace and all the room we had to sit around it just being together the most.
Thanks so very much Stephanie for sharing your home and giving us a weekend full of wonderful memories!
We were so happy with this wonderful home! It has a large open space and many fun amenities.
A wonderful, beautiful cabin in a delightful moutain setting!
We just completed our second stay at Grove Creek and what a delightful family vacation it was! We arrived a few days before Christmas with our children, their spouses, and our grandchildren. The cabin was perfectly prepared with a beautifully decorated Christmas tree and a lovely fresh floral Christmas arrangement on the kitchen island. The kitchen is incredibly well stocked with appliances and cooking needs. The bedrooms are all lovely and very comfortable. The theatre room is a real bonus, with reclined seating and fantastic surround sound! The jacuzzi, sauna and the steam room are also a real plus. Overall, this place was perfect for our family... it even snowed on Christmas Eve. Owners Rob and Stephanie are absolutely wonderful to work with and were attentive to our every need. We could not be more pleased with this property and it’s owners and hope to return again and again!
The cabin was beautiful and HUGE!
We loved the cabin, but were disappointed that the sleeping arrangements had been changed after our booking...we were expecting more sleeping options for the kids with bunks. But the mats provided (if we'd known they were provided and we wouldn't have taken up the space in our car to haul up 4 of our own!) did the trick, and the kids certainly didn't mind 'camping out' all together on the floor! We did a little deep cleaning in the small appliance cupboard where there was sticky residue from previous users...yuck. We moved the furniture in the movie room to vacuum well our messes and found a lot more older candy, wrappers, socks, popcorn, etc. underneath cushions and under the furniture which we included in our clean up. We wished we'd known where to get the special popcorn for the theater popper...there was one bag....yummy... but we wished we'd been prepared with more! The bottom two refrigerator crisper drawers in the kitchen didn't seem to be working at all so we crowded all the food into the upper frig. We loved the surrounding area to meander and hike around. Didn't use the deck and outside fireplace since it was a little chilly, but tried to use the inside one and it didn't seem to work. The only thing that drove us CRAZY was trying to figure out the lighting switches...augh! And my husband adds: Wonder if they are aware that at least one of the kitchen cabinet doors has the wrong kind of hinge, so it closes with a big gap. The method for taking our trash bags to the 'dumpster' was a little odd. For one thing it was an out of the way big industrial trash compactor, not a dumpster...a little dangerous and inconvenient. Basically, we had a fabulous time, made a lot of memories with our family and were warm in comfortable in the beautiful cabin while we were doing it. Thanks
We love providing our cabin for large family groups to enjoy the mountains and to be together. My goal is to keep all renters up to date on all changes and providing the best experience possible.
I feel this review could use a little clarification. The renter was notified of the bunk bed to king bed change as soon as it happened, a month in advance. The renter was told of mats and sleeping bags provided for kids. I also offered a full refund if they wanted to look for a cabin with more beds. They declined.
The fireplace and fridge were working properly before their arrival and immediately after checkout. There may have been user error in this case.
Sundance does not provide curbside garbage removal to mountain homes. We provide 2 garbage cans for our renters that we remove for them. Extra bags of trash are disposed of the only way that Sundance has provided, a compactor by the resort.
The Lutron lighting system was designed mainly for homeowners. It saves energy and has the ability to turn off all lights in the large cabin, which is convenient but can carry a learning curve for short time occupants. Directions are provided.
Since our cabin is large and we allow multiple families, our cleaning crew has encountered many cleaning challenges. They do their best and may sometimes miss things that are out of sight. We always strive to do better.
