Truchas Mountain Casita

At the end of the county road is this very private and secluded guest casita that borders the 15,000 acre Truchas Land Grant. Views of the Rio Grande River Valley & Jemez Mountain range from the deck of the casita are breathtaking. Relax and unwind at this magical destination. Offering a range top and refrigerator, Toaster Oven, Kuerig coffeemaker and outdoor grill. Only one hour to Santa Fe or Taos. 40 minutes to Sipapu Skiing. Great hiking and photography. Nearby fishing opportunities. Your stay in Truchas will have you coming back year after year.
Please be reminded, one of our policies is "No Pets Allowed".
This small cabin (casita) is located in a very remote area of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range at 8000 elevation. We encounter field mice, rats, moles, chipmunks, squirrels, skunk, raccoons, bobcat, coyote, deer and elk, mountain lion and bears. We have seen all of these animals near and around our homes. We do contract with a local pest control company to help us mitigate the rodents and they conduct monthly checkups and bait the exterior and interior boxes.

We loved our stay in the Casita. Easy to find. Even though I am familiar with the mountain village of Truchas, I was not familiar with the location of the Casita. The directions were easy to follow to find this quaint little hideaway. Thank you Vicki. Athena and I loved our time there. Cozy Getaway

Our recent stay in the mountains was nothing short of enchanting. The cozy casita provided a perfect retreat for our travels between Santa Fe and Taos. We spent our evenings by the crackling kiva and really appreciated the kerosene soaked wood chips too! Great place!

It is a hidden gem that provides everything needed from comfy coziness to privacy with views of excitement. Peacefully Serene with Killer Views

This a true gem if your desire is privacy and serenity. Located in the mountains north of Santa Fe, there's no structure within sight (the "main" house on the property is hidden behind a privacy fence). The views from the deck are incredible. The host was always very responsive.

Fantastic getaway

We drove 12 hours and didn’t make it before dark, so absolutely try your best to do so the first night so you can figure out how/where to get in. Wonderful home, perfect to enjoy the views, the weather and lose all sense of responsibility to your job or kiddos for a few days. We will absolutely be back.

Wonderful stay In a private mountain house

This little house is just wonderful. It is close to Santa Fe about an hour. So if you want to be in Santa Fe, maybe not for you. But if you want to be alone in the mountains, it is wonderful.It does everything you need. We were a little worried that there was no air conditioning, but the nights were very cool and was wonderful. Thank you for our stay

Amazing!!

The casita was the perfect little vacation home. My husband and I booked it for our 33rd wedding anniversary and we had the best time!! The pictures do not do this little house justice. The views are amazing. Vicki is the best host she answers all our questions and was just awesome! This was our first time exploring New Mexico the state is beautiful we will definitely be back!
