This property is one of a kind! The house is tucked away amongst 20+ acres and has 1,000 feet of sand frontage on Middle Eau Claire Lake. Middle Eau Claire offers trophy fishing, recreation, and water clarity that is second to none. The house offers an open concept floor plan that is perfect for entertaining and great for two families. Enjoy family game nights in the ping pong room, coffee in the 4 season porch over looking the lake, al fresco dining, and fishing off the two dock! The shoreline has a hard sand bottom that offers great swimming for all ages! There is a nicely landscaped walk-way to the water's edge, where you will find the dock and fire pit. The house offers two primary bedrooms on opposite sides of the house with ensuite bathrooms. There is another bedroom with queen and twin bunk bed and a den with two XL twin beds with a full bathroom conveniently located between them. There is also a pull out couch in the large living room with size double mattress(fine for kids), a queen aerobed and crib.

New docks with seating and stairs for easy swimming, fishing, and boating. Sandy beach area.
Smoking, pets and hunting are not permitted anywhere on the property.

We can accommodate a maximum of 8 adults, including children ages 4 years and older based on the size of our septic system and Bayfield County regulations.

We require that all guests review and sign our short-term rental contract and purchase a property damage protection insurance plan through VRBO.

great get away

this is our second visit to this wonderful place and it was just as great as our first!! Great accommodations, check in and scenery! we love the peace, quiet and amazing trees!!! We hope to come back again next year!!

Beautiful place!

Our family enjoyed staying at the house as much as exploring the area. We canceled a local river canoe outing to spend our last day on the lake at the house. I could easily make this a yearly trip!

Very Relaxing & Private Family Getaway

We recently spent a week with our family enjoying the north woods. This place was a very private and sprawling property with plenty of space for our teenagers. I would highly recommend this property and we are already discussing our next stay.

Spacious getaway

Very enjoyable and comfortable spacious log house with direct access to the lake. On top of that, a great ping pong table in a dedicated room. Grandparents, parents, and kids had a good time.

Barnes Family Getaway

I rented the cabin so that my family and I could get a chance to get together and spend a week up north. The accommodations were as advertised and the scenery didn’t disappoint. The host was very punctual in communicating and much appreciated. We really enjoyed our stay and our only wish was that we could extend our time there.

A Nice Getaway

Please with our stay. Probably a bigger place than needed for a family of four! Great lake to kayak and paddleboard - very calm, and lots of inlets and pathways to the other lakes. Laura was very responsive, and house was well-equipped with all the basic supplies needed for the week.

Fun Family Escape

We had a great time at the River Road Retreat! It was great to have the 20 acres of privacy. The cabin is huge and had all the amenities we could ask for. We really enjoyed our time out in the pontoon we rented on the lake. Great place would definitely go back.

"Dancing Water" Retreat- Great View

Family Getaway

Our family stayed here for a week in late July. Cabin is very large with enough space for everyone to do their thing and not get in each others way. Lake was beautiful with a sandy bottom. Highly recommend using the kiyaks to check out the channel between middle and lower Eau Claire lake. We enjoyed our stay.

Peaceful get away

The cabin is spacious and has a variety of activities to entertain old and young. The dock is perfect for little fishermen in training:). All the amenities you need are there to make it even less of a headache for packing. Would certainly stay again! If you need a place to reconnect with family and enjoy a bit of peace and quiet this is the place!

Winter Getaway

We loved our winter getaway to the Northwoods. The house was lovely, close to hiking, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing trails. Laura was fabulous at answering my questions. We would definitely consider coming in the summer and in the winter again too.

Beautiful lakeside retreat

We had 6 adult men and all slept comfortably (albeit 1 on a couch). Several different places to gather for conversation, games, etc. allowed us to spread out and still stay connected. Communication with the property manager was always very timely, courteous, and accurate.

Lake House Retreat

Everything about this sprawling lake house exceeded our expectations. The furniture and bedding were very comfortable and coordinated with the wood cabin decor. The wildlife, including four friendly deer, eagles and loons enhanced the spacious outdoor setting. There are so many things to do, including the relaxation, you will not be disappointed. Gorgeous!

We loved our stay at River Road Retreat! The property and lake were absolutely beautiful! It was so peaceful and serene. We also got to see many deer, eagles, and even a little otter swam by one night! The house was clean and exactly as described. There was plenty of room for our big family to spread out. The ping pong table was a big hit as well! The owner was very friendly and responsive and contacted us to be sure we didn't have any problems with check-in. We would definitely love to come back again! Thank you!

Outstanding

The house is spatial, stunning, comfortable, clean and contains amenities that kept the kids busy. The beach has a fire pit, dock for the boat with kayaks and paddle boat. The public launch is located directly across from the home and is one of the nicest I have used. Fishing was good. No musky but great Bass, Pan-fish and Northern fishing. Access to Lower Eau Claire Lake was easy. We are definitely considering for next year.

Wonderful

This property was a little slice of heaven. Very private and cozy. Property owner was very responding and I loved how they had everything labeled from light switches to cabinets and drawers. The bed was very comfortable and the lake was extremely clear. Perfect for families with children. We saw lots of eagles, turtles, deer and even a mother mallard and babies went past us our first evening. The use of the kayaks were a plus. So much to explore here. I’ve stayed at many lake places but I will say this lake was by far the easiest to access and cleanest to enjoy. Oh and the internet service was awesome. I would recommend it to anyone that wants to get away and relax and enjoy some lake life 😊
