About the property

Corner 1 Bedroom condo with Murphy Bed, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 3-4)

Completely remodeled in June 2013. Our corner 2nd floor unit affords the best views in the complex. Our side window looks down the beach and our front beachfront view is only about 20' away from the sand. There is no unit closer to the beach than ours.

Our unit is NOT stripped out of the sugar, salt and pepper like most other rental units, but is left stocked with spices, drinks, and left over adult beverages from us and previous guests.

We have a Vizio 42' HD TV in the bed room and a new 50' HD in the living room. In case business calls, we leave a HP 4 in one printer to hook up to your lap top. Free Wi-Fi for your use....etc....

We are consistently less per night that other units. Our maid comes in when you leave to clean for the next guest. This is our home away from home that we use consistently.

About Les Wright

Two retired teachers who love the beach and the island life. We live in Lake Tahoe in the summer and Maui when we get too cold and tire of skiing in the winter. We put on the Maui Oceanfront Marathon in late January, so January is never available.

We also put on the Lake Tahoe Marathon in October , so October is always available.

Why Les Wright chose Kihei

There are plenty of pretty places to jog. Friday night is Art Night in Lahaina. One or more of the many galleries will have an artist showing their works, usually serving wine and hors d'oeuvres. Then stay for dinner at one of the many oceanfront restaurants. Do get your picture taken with colorful parrots perched on your shoulder as you stroll the waterfront outside the historic Pioneer Inn on Front Street. About 8 miles north of our place, at Ma'alaea Bay, is the Maui Ocean Center (The Hawaiian Aquarium). In the same area is the ancient Kealia Fishpond. About 5 miles north of HPH is outstanding windsurfing and is where the giant green turtles come to lay their eggs. You may see yellow road signs warning of turtle crossings. (they don't last long) There are surf lessons half mile north and good surfing is a few blocks north and a mile south of our place. Windsurfing is also excellent 4 miles north and on the east side of the island. Scuba or snorkeling abounds. There is a dive shop about every other block, it seems. And nearest dive shop is across the street from our complex. On Thursday the Home owners organize a weekly Pu Pu Party. All guests are invited to bring something to share and your own beverage and enjoy the sunset with new friends. Any night is a good night to BBQ on our lawn overlooking the beach and help the sun set.

What makes this condo unique

Very friendly and social vacation environment. Enjoy the company of new friends while BBQ and watching the sun go down. Our condo is a corner unit has an unobstructed view of the beach, 3 islands, and the sunset. Our extra side window looks south down the beach. The quarter mile long Kameole Beach II is just down our stairs. See whales between Dec and April just yards off shore. Dolphins often and turtles daily...

Great location

We love Hale Pau Hana and this unit is the best. The owner has it tasteful decorated and there is bunch a stuff to use (Kick boards, snorkel gear, Binoculars, etc.) plus the Kitchen is pretty stocked with some essentials. You are encourage to leave behind liquor and condiments which you can be used by the next guest. We spend a lot of time on the deck in the mornings and sunsets from there are the best! We are definitely going back there next year!

Beautiful beachfront condo

Great condo that has everything you could want in it. We went to a few different beaches up and down the coast and the one outside our lanai was our favourite. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Very reasonably priced compared to other beachfront properties on the island. If we ever visit Maui again, this is the place we would stay.

Best deal I've had in a long time

For us, this condo was absolutely perfect. Here are the things we look for:

+ close to the beach, I love to hear the surf: 100% - if you fell off the Lanai, you'd be on the beach

+ sunsets, I'm a sucker for Hawaiian sunsets: 100% - lanai faces west, with a 270 degree view of the ocean.

+ walking distance to other beaches: 100% - Kihei town beaches are right there, and a shoreline hike is really easy. Kihei is a real town with real residents. So you wont be in a "Resort Cocoon"

+ Clean: 100% - the condo was spotless, and the property was well-maintained and very comfortable.

+ workable kitchen: 100% - everything you'd expect. Plus basic items like sugar, salt/pepper and numerous spices and condiments are stocked.

+ Affordable - I won't rate this because everyone's budget is unique. But for us, this was an excellent deal. I have stayed in many, many properties on all the islands, and especially on Maui. You can pay a lot more and get a lot less.

Great property!

The renovations are done and the condo is beautiful! Very efficient storage capacities throughout and all the built-ins makes it feel airy because all of our stuff was able to be put away. The new furniture in the living room is stylish with ample and comfortable seating. The kitchen is so well stocked - just like home. There were all the staples needed in the fridge and cupboards - even left over booze and things like butter and beer! Location is 5 star - walkable to anywhere in the Kihei neighbourhood and of course Kam II beach on your doorstep. Amenities such as lounge chairs on the lawn and heated pool were appreciated. The owner is very organized with ample instructions for everything. Only one thing I would mention, and is easily fixable - the lack of more beach things such as an additional boogie board for the 2nd person; beach umbrella etc, but lots of snorkelling gear is available for your use. The condo has a pull out couch - we did not use it. Also a Murphy bed - we did use it on hot nights with the lanai doors open to let the sea breeze in. Lovely. We highly recommend this unit - it's bright, stylish, and so comfortable!

Great place!

We loved Maui, Kihei, Kamaole II, Hale Pau Hana and this unit! While the goal was to spend as much time outside as possible, the condo was wonderful to hang out in - had everything we needed from food staples, guide books, beach stuff, killer view from the lanai, great feel in living room with the lanai sliding doors wide open. Kamaole II beach was one of our favorites - found the snorkeling to be awesome on the south end of the beach around the rocks - even sea turtles. Great places to walk to for both the kids and adults. Would go back in a heartbeat.

We are across the street from several restaurants and shopping.

We are 1.5 miles north of Wailea and within 4 miles of 4 golf courses.
