OCEANFRONT TIMBERFRAME COTTAGE - a rare treasure, with panoramic sea views and timber frame design, vaulted 14-foot barn planked ceilings, heavy trusses, mahogany countertops, white wood walls, stone fireplace, private, exclusive and RARE, this is an incomparable destination. Cloistered in its verdant setting with handsome nantucket decor, this home is four miles south of historic downtown Plymouth and10 miles North of Sagamore Beach. With its gorgeous second master suite, it is ideal for oceanfront relaxation -- with easy access to sightseeing, whale-watching, deep sea fishing, antiquing, boutiquing, golf, touring historic homes (some of which date to the 1600s, like our VRBO 343120, beach combing, and swimming. Entering through the oceanfront breezeway, you'll see the breathtaking view sweeping from Plymouth Harbor over to Provincetown. There are vivid sunsets over the water and at night, the twinkling lights of Plymouth, and the beacon from the Gurnet lighthouse across Plymouth Bay. Stepping inside the open-plan cottage, you'll enter the Great Room with its 14-foot stone fireplace, timber trusses, and barnwood-planked ceiling. Attractively decorated with white slip-covered furniture, the Great Room has wide pine floors with forged nails, antique cupboards with beveled-mirror doors (reflecting the ocean view.) The kitchen runs the length of the great room and has a 14-foot long mahogany-topped island with two undermount sinks/Grohe faucets, dishwasher, induction cooktops and a Miele convection oven allowing the cook (or master of canapes and wine) to be part of the family gathering while enjoying the wraparound view. The refrigerator has an icemaker with tasty ice because our water is good here. The fireplace is flanked with massive antique Ottoman doors, brought back from Cyprus, which divide the Great Room from the original master bedroom. This area has a vaulted ceiling, raised sleeping alcove that juts out toward the ocean, has a queen-size four-poster British West Indies bed. Here, posts and beams create a jewel box with ocean views all around. The high windows let you peer at starlight high above the Atlantic. The bedroom's French doors open onto the wraparound mahogany deck, outdoor shower with light house and ocean views, that connects all around to the Great Room and kitchen. And of course air conditioning and ceiling fans in all areas of the house. This handsomely renovated cottage has two full baths in the main house (one upstairs with a mahogany countertop, vessel sink, Grohe faucet, marble shower with pebble floor, and skylights above the shower and toilet. The other on the lower level with 4 foot shower, and separate toilet alcove around the corner for privacy by the walk in closet.) And best of all the ALL NEW oceanfront Master-cottage suite, attached to the house by the delightful waterfront breezeway.
The NEW master suite being offered has vaulted wood ceiling with beams, vertical pine wood walls painted white, private toilet room with vanity (water closet/powder room) behind rolling barn door) in addition to the jaw-dropping oceanfront bathroom with Kohler walk in shower with adjustable seat and grab bars, 9 foot Carrara marble antique vanity with undermount sink and splendid views of the ocean from the vanity and the shower (and the huge glass doors in the bedroom area.) The new situation is perfect for two luxury master suites for situations needing that special unforgettable situation, bride and groom and family, grandparents who deserve the prettiest spot on earth.
Oceanside walls in the main house are all glass sliding, which open to the roomy mahogany deck. The open floor plan offers flexibility for those with just 2 couples wanting space and luxury, or larger families with children spilling into the spacious lower level with its own full bath (laundry room is also on lower level).
We provide everything you can imagine for your comfort and convenience at the house: Ample nice linens, towels, beach towels, laundry supplies, a well-stocked kitchen with spices, oil, condiments, and baking needs, Ice maker, Miele convection oven, induction cooktops (so you can move them and cook facing the ocean) quality pots and pans, nice dishes, quality wine glasses and glassware, silverware, small appliances, toaster, paper goods like coffee filters, paper towels, bathroom tissue, napkins, excellent, up-to-date air-conditioning, two gas fireplaces, quality Weber gas grill with propane, firewood for the fire pit, easy access to Plymouth Long Beach just 2 miles away, or (depending on schedule) parking for one car at our House by the Sea where we have a magnificent private Hawaii-like beach.
The neighborhood is very interesting. It used to be the elaborate Stone Estate, a magnificent spread with mansion, guesthouse, stables, gardener's cottage, caretaker's cottage, poolhouse w saltwater pool, polo fields with stone ramparts, a house modeled after the tea house at Versailles. If you remind me, I will send you an aerial photograph of the estate from the 1930s which shows the extensive grounds, buildings and hinterlands of forested oceanfront acreage (where our house now sits.)
There is a chic grocery store called the Market at Pine Hills, ...excellent cheese shop, top-quality meats, great seafood, wonderful atmosphere and the wine shop next door with excellent selection. Downtown Plymouth has lots of good restaurant, Plymouth Rock, Plimoth plantation (which is like a trip in a time machine back to the 1600s.) Farther south there is the Cape Cod Canal bikeway, Over the bridge is the quaint town of Sandwich with its seafood shops grocery stores historic homes, antiques, restaurants...
Then again, you may never want to leave oceanfront Timberframe cottage, because it is so beautiful there...

To me, creating the perfect waterfront getaway home is an art form. My lifelong career had been in designing publications, and later creating magazine illustrations (google 'robin jareaux') and painting expressionistic works on canvas. When I first decided to rent my weekend home so I could renovate an incredible but dilapidated cottage (which became, at great expense, 'Timberframe Cottage') I did not know this would become my work and my passion. Working in 2-D was fun and rewarding, but my new 3-D art is creating vacation homes that themselves are 'works of art.' My goal with my homes is to create a setting that exceeds your expectations, and in turn, your patronage lets me continue my art form a few more years. Please read the guest comments to see the generous and enthusiastic compliments we've received. Finding just the right furnishings, using classic Nantucket decor, using materials such as massive beams, barnwood ceilings, wide pine floors, antique cabinets, and creating gardens overflowing with roses and peonies, clematis, daylilies, gigantic buried stepping stones, blueberries, raspberries, foxgloves (can you tell it is June as I write this?) expanses of mahogany countertop, fine appliances, stone fireplaces, stained glass, with views that will take your breath away. Please look at 'all my rental listings' to see my portfolio: art in the form of unique and exceptional vacation getaways. It is a labor of love... for you.

Why Robin chose Plymouth
Jaw-dropping Incredible wraparound ocean views, a light house across the water, fireworks over the sea, utmost privacy, this is EDEN. The reviews give a few hints and the joy people feel being here. And many guests come time after time. AND NOW, we have completed a long anticipated renovation which nearly doubles the size of the oceanfront parts of the home.
What makes this House unique
4 shoreline miles from Plymouth Rock and historic downtown Plymouth. 11 miles to Cape Cod. An easy 45 miles (be sure to travel off peak!) to Boston. Zero miles to bliss.

relaxing, gorgeous view, well stocked, plenty of room for extended family
Had a great week with our kids and grandkids although most only stayed a day or two. Great twin beds for kids, several queen size beds. Separate master bedroom from main house. Toasty heating. Marshmellow roasting on the fire pit. Up to date appliances. We got in late the first night and the wine and cheese was very much appreciated. Thanks. p.s. there is a portacrib in the closet but no gates for stairs if you bring toddlers.
Even if a baby/toddler stays only a day or two, we want our guests to have everything they need to have a perfect getaway. In this case, all we knew was that our guests were here for a funeral and there were "two children." Had we been asked about baby gates we would happily have provided them. Mentioning "2 children" could have meant ten-year-olds or teens... and you'd be surprised to hear that many parents call their 22 year old adult offspring "children" as well. "Well, we still think of them as children," they will say. We encourage our valued guests to tell us what you will need for babies, or toddlers, or other special age needs, and we will either provide this, or connect with "Plymouth Crib" and arrange (for you to rent) the items you need. We love to respond to good communication since we have enough baby gates for our guests with children, and merely need to know where they are required. Our 7 amazing five-star home along this beautiful shoreline are abundantly provisioned with all you might need, and for those things that are not needed with most rentals, just let us know. (Turkey-baster? gravy boat? children's tv channel? special sports programming? Let us know.)
Beautiful oceanfront cottage
My husband and I, along with our two labrador retrievers, spent a long weekend in this beautiful oceanfront cottage. The cottage is well appointed, clean and welcoming. The ocean view is spectacular! The photos accurately represent the cottage. The location is very close to the center of Plymouth, as well as, close proximity to Cape Cod. Robin, the owner, was wonderful to work with. I have already recommend this cottage to friends and family.
Four stars? Mary says, "Beautiful oceanfront cottage" and "well appointed, clean and welcoming" and "ocean view is spectacular!" Mary also sent an email saying "We had a great time, and your cottage is wonderful." Now, I apologize for being easily hurt, but we take our 100% 5-star reviews very seriously and work hard to earn them by offering the most beautiful, well-provisioned (even exquisite) homes you can rent anywhere. What more could we have done to earn our normal 5-star rating? We even made a rare exception to allow her 2 pets (being a slow rental month) as a favor to make her short stay more enjoyable. Weather? Was it the cold mid-february weather which limited the use of the expansive oceanfront lawn with fire pit and Adirondack chairs? Let us know if we missed something, because we don't get it. Prospective guests, please read the other reviews, all 100% five stars.
Our stay at the Timberframe Cottage was perfect in every way! The property is beautiful, the house is so well decorated and equipped and the owners are very attentive!!

Wonderful and charming!
Greetings everyone , my name is Donna and I just had to take a moment to write a review about this wonderful home! From the moment we walked threw the door my blood pressure went down the view was AMAZING ! Lol I own a day spa and keep very busy and I'm VERY picky about hygiene and sanitation as well because of this , and let me tell you this home was immaculate!!!!
Walks on the near by beach were great and the local restaurants were good as well. I really liked the grocery store Called The Market at Pine Hills , cute place to chill and stroll and have lunch too.
The views were outstanding! The little covered porch with the rocking chairs were my favorite place to chill, even on a rainy cloudy day , it seemed ok:)! Even our 21 year old daughter who attends BU managed to relax and enjoy the view before heading back to school.
I must take a moment to mention Ms.Robin the owner, she was professional, accessible and very friendly to deal with. We live in Houston Texas so we appreciated the cool weather and the ocean views , that being said we will be back:)! Should y'all need any other info feel free to reach out to me.
What a place, the pictures didn't lie. We really enjoyed Timberframe Cottage! Words can't describe the beauty of the home and the views. Everything was clean and in great condition. Plenty of outdoor seating and a great breezeway. Enjoyed the fire pit. Very tranquil and private. Great for families and friends. Definitely would come back.
