Easy private access and a comfortable and convenient stay - perfect location if you are visiting Mt. Shasta!! Communication with the owners were smooth and timely - a perfect stay!
Peter and his team were excellent hosts. Peter helped with requests and suggested must see sites in the area. He was quick to respond and extremely helpful. The house is charming and within walking distance to local shops and food. Bee Kind was our daily morning stop for coffee and was suggested by Peter. The coffee and pastries are amazing. Thank you for a memorable stay!
The cottage was great for the price. It was the perfect location for our stay. The landscaping out front was lovely. It could use a thorough deep clean and some actual forks. There were only plastic forks. Other than that we enjoyed our stay.
The house was perfect for our families weekend ski trip. Very clean and comfy bedroom and living, kitchen was great. Didn't know there was a train running all night.

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Disliked: Cleanliness
Unfortunately, my partner and I had to leave early because the smell of the house was unbearable for us. It smells like mildew and even though the host was very nice and communicative, the neighborhood, the property, and the overall atmosphere was not what we were expecting. The TV was updated and wasn’t the same as the one in the photos which was a huge plus and the laundry was awesome after swimming in the lake. We really did want to stay and enjoy all that Mount Shasta has to offer but the smell was not something we could handle. The place can definitely do with a deep clean of the carpet. Overall, very cute home it has a lot of potential! Thank you, I don’t see myself staying here again though.
Property is in a great location if visiting Shasta or surrounding parks. But, the furniture and appliances were dirty and outdated. The floors and kitchen were pretty dirty and gross. The fridge was loud and the outside was dirty. Tap water from the kitchen was metallic and undrinkable probably because of the pipes.
Host communication was quick and great.
The trip was great because the hikes and beauty around were wonderful.
But I’m not sure I would stay here again.
I knew the train would be loud based on other reviews. But it was so loud as it’s only about a block away and runs ALL the time even honking throughout the night.
The home itself is cute and clean. The neighborhood was questionable. The house which was only a few feet away could see into the bathroom clearly. No privacy. There were no window coverings in the bathroom, and it was a clear view from house to house. I covered it as best I could with paper towel rolls. The light was out in the bathroom. The kitchen had an ant infestation. The small window air conditioner did not cool the bedroom at the back of the house. The train that went by blew its horn several times a night. The neighbors large dog barked all the time and they screamed "shut the F... up" a lot. Also, the neighbors hung out on the front deck with loud music and foul language. I would not choose this particular VRBO again based on location.
The home was very clean and the grounds were nice also. The kitchen was stocked with the basics and there were plenty of linens. A good place to stay close to a lot of places.
We really enjoyed our stay in Dunsmuir - this place was comfortable and had everything we needed. The only issue was the noise of the train at random hours of the night, this made our sleep a little less restful than we had been hoping for. It's likely a problem anywhere in Dunsmuir - the train is loud and echos throughout the valley. It seemed like there were 1-3 trains per night.
