I am originally from Vancouver, British Columbia. Krista is from Seattle, Washington and we met at a BBQ in California. It was love at first sight and we were married six months later. We have been blessed with 7 children and 5 grandchildren (so far).
I taught the Bible at a Bible School for twelve years, then Krista and I established a Christian publishing company with a worldwide distribution of books and we retired from that after 25 years. We opened our Villas in 2016 and have hosted more than 12,000 guests from over 67 countries around the world. We are both involved with local and overseas ministry opportunities, a special group of college and career adults at our church, and hospitality.
Hospitality = the love of strangers. Our guests often arrive as strangers and leave as friends.

We bought our 5-bedroom villa in 2001 as our family home. We added a 3-bedroom home to the original villa and when we finished it in 2006 we opened our doors for guests from all over the world. The demand for more space kept growing and now we offer 13 different rental options for individuals to groups of 21. This property is located in Castro Valley which is central to all of the San Francisco Bay area sites. It is a great town with a fantastic climate. We searched for three years before we found this Villa. We have 7 children and we were outgrowing our small home. We found this home in 2001 as a 5000 square foot, three-bedroom house. We reconfigured the house to make it 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. In 2005 we built the adjoining three-bedroom home and in 2006 we welcomed our first vacation rental guests to our home. The home is now 6500 square feet. This world-renowned Villa has attracted over 12,000 guests from 67 countries, from senators to ambassadors, Silicon Valley businesses like Google, Facebook, and more, to various branches of the military. We have hosted large families, non-profits, corporate giants, professional sports teams, or coaches and their families. We have hosted wedding parties, parents of the bride or groom – or both! We have had film crews, Discovery Channel, and we’ve been sought after by Hollywood studios. And our guests have included wonderful families like yours. Most guests arrive as strangers but leave as friends.
