About Federico

Hi, I'm Federico,

I really love that wonderful town/aerea... and I just like to share this place with people from all over the world- who wants to live a REAL Tuscan experience. Be welcome!

Federico purchased this villa in 2009

What makes this villa unique

Descending amongst woodland and through parched brooks, then slowly upwards again along the hedgerows. You could hear the flutter of a bird escaping in fright. On occasion you could hear a trill piercing the air, then silence almost at once... [Dina Ferri, Radicondoli 1908-Siena 1930]

Guestbook comments from the owner

Villa Muraia is a very beautiful place. We were two couples and found the Villa to be a great size and very well equiped. The view from the terrace was exceptional. We spent many an hour in our lounge chairs overlooking the Tuscan countryside.

Radicondoli was a great base to explore Chianti, Florence, Siena and the town's people made us feel very welcome.

Ideal Villa in an Idyllic Setting

  • 5 of 5

The Villa Muraia lived up to and even exceeded our expectations. If you want to get away and spend some time in an ancient village like Radicondoli that is not flooded by tourists, this is the place. Most days I'm sure we were the only non-residents. The villa is situated on the side of a hill just on the edge of the village, giving it a birds-eye view of the surrounding area. The village is accessible by car and the villa has private parking, but I strongly recommend GPS and a navigator. The roads are good but narrow and winding. If you can get by with a compact car, you will do better. The villa itself is clean and fully equipped with modern conveniences. It is perfect for two couples. The views are nothing short of "Oh, my!" after a pronounced gasp the first time you experience the panoramic scene before you. Fernando was waiting for us as we arrived in late afternoon, with a warm fire burning in the fireplace. He was available if we needed anything, but he let us enjoy the experience without interference. If you need to pick up milk, bread or other basics, the COOP is just a few steps away. If you are planning to visit other cities such as Florence or Pisa, I suggest you drive to Siena and take the train. So much easier than driving into those cities! And you can watch the countryside go by stress-free. The nearby restaurant served up the best meal of our week-long vacation in Italy. I could go on, but I think you get the message. If you book Villa Muraia, I guarantee you won't be disappointed. I would gladly go back again.

Charming villa in a charming town.

  • 5 of 5

Charming villa in a charming town. Radacondoli is a small hill-top town with a small population and few tourists. The Villa is well appointed (the shower needs some help) and the hosts Frederico and his sister Sara were always so helpful when we planned our visit and after we arrived. There were just 3 restaurants open when we were there (not all at the same time tho) so we enjoyed the food and were made to feel very welcome. The bakery (located when you first drive into the town) had wonderful things for breakfast. We stayed for 6 nights and made day-trips to Florence (took the train from Poggibonsi) and some other hill-top towns. A great place to stay! We were there in late September.

Absolutely stunning!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Villa Muraia for one week on July and having stayed in a few villas during our time in Italy, this was by far the best. The Villa itself is beautiful, the decor is tasteful, the surrounding comfortable and the kitchen is the best equipped that I've ever experienced! The pictures do not do the Villa justice and the views from the garden across the valley and spectacular. Radicondoli is a beautiful village, and we were really enchanted by it. The people are extremely friendly and we enjoyed the laid back atmosphere. We travelled with our toddler so it was great to have a nice enclosed garden for him to play in and the fact we could stroll into the village was fantastic. Federico was extremely welcoming and accommodating during our stay. We only wish we could have stayed longer!! Thankyou.

Our family stayed here for a week and appreciated Federico's consideration for having us stay when our days were slightly off the normal booking period. The house is completely equipped for cooking, spotlessly clean and comfortable. Fernando met us upon arrival and looked after anything we needed. Radicondoli is a lovely little village and we enjoyed returning there after our outings. We had 2 days that we stayed in the village enjoying walks and the view. There is a great pizza restaurant right above the house and the tourist information office on the main street is helpful with a good Wifi connection. We loved it! Thank you for a great week.

Le paradis!

  • 5 of 5
