Villa Don Rafa a family and friends memorable beach vacation at a prestige location in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico.
The space
Create a memorable vacation experience in a beautiful, well decorated house and apartment with the capacity of gathering ten friends and family in a same lot. Enjoy the exterior with three gazebos, private swimming pool, kitchen area and a two-story terrace with a pool table and a great ocean view. Enjoy the sunset and have a blast during the full moon nights either from the beach or the house. For many years have been known as a hidden paradise.

Take a morning beach walk, enjoy the famous “Posita”, sunbathe at the Caribbean waters and create your memories. We provide beach chairs, towels and a cooler for you to use during your stay. Just have a blast during your vacation and experience lazing around. You will be part of a silent family and friends’ community after 10:00pm.
Guest access
Guests are welcome to enjoy all the facilities included in the house. No worries if the light goes out, there is a generator that lights the house until the service is back. Counts with a water cistern. We offer the services of a professional Photographer, a Massage Therapist and a Flute Musician for a special moment or your yoga routines. If interested we can inform you of the extra cost for their services.
Other things to note
It is popular in Puerto Rico to “Chinchorrear”. This means when people gather with their family and friends and trace a route to visit places to eat, drink, dance and keep making multiple stops at different spots. We will provide you with a list of recommended places to eat and drink around the area. In the list you will find places like La Casita de Roldy, Platanutre, Dulce y Salao, La Terraza de Juanita, Rancho el Campo, Pescadería la Puntita, El Ikokal and Sammy’s Family Pizza among other to eat great local food. For breakfast you can visit Dulce Arte Bakery is 10 minutes away.

Palmas del Mar has a 18 hole Golf Course 15 minutes away. Chichi Rodriguez Golf Course 45 minutes away.

Villa Don Rafa was the perfect vacation spot for our family of nine - six adults and three children - ranging in age from 2 to 82. Beautiful outdoor gathering places and enough comfortable, good sized bedrooms for each to retire for some quiet, alone time if needed. Except for our daily short walk to spend time on the beach and in the little sheltered natural pool there, we didn't feel the need to leave the villa at all. The kids also loved the pool at the house and there were enough places for the adults to sit in shade and keep an eye on them. Sylvia was the perfect hostess, even arranging for a charming private chef to cook a celebratory anniversary meal for us in the villa and adding a few small gifts to make it special. Thank you, Sylvia. All nine of us hope to return some day. It will be our go to place next time we visit Puerto Rico

We had an absolutely amazing week at this beautiful beachfront house in Puerto Rico. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The home was spotless, beautifully maintained, and thoughtfully set up for a truly relaxing getaway. One of our favorite features was the immaculate private pool, perfectly positioned right by the beach—an incredible place to unwind while enjoying the ocean breeze and stunning views.Each morning and evening felt magical. Listening to the coquí frogs while sipping coffee, waking up to the sound of the waves, and taking in the peaceful surroundings made the experience unforgettable. Having direct beach access meant we could enjoy the ocean anytime, and every sunset felt like a postcard come to life.The location was ideal—quiet, private, and serene, yet close enough to explore local beaches, restaurants, and attractions. This was the perfect place to relax, recharge, and create lasting memories. We would absolutely recommend this beach house to anyone looking for an authentic Puerto Rico experience and cannot wait to return.

Great home!

Our stay at Villa Don Rafa was absolutely amazing! The house was clean, well stocked, and plenty of room for everyone. We had two families that travel together, and the layout worked perfectly. Having the pool was amazing and the beach was a short walk. It was nice to drive to our activities, and return at the end of the day to the peaceful and quiet neighborhood. We hope to be back again someday.

This house is absolutely beautiful! And the outdoor space was even more beautiful. We were lost and the owner was kind enough to meet us and guide us to the home. There was a total of 10 of us and we fit comfortably. House is clean. Would definitely stay there again!

Wonderful place

This property is fantastic. Sylvia and Carlos have done a wonderful job. The places are very clean, safe and spacious. The beach was great. My girls enjoyed the pool, the pool table and the beach. Nothing was overlooked.

Family Vacation

Three generations together. My grandchildren met their ‘bisabuela’, my mom for the first time. Priceless moments celebrated in a beautiful home. Rental is just as described. Sylvia & Andrea exceed expectations as hosts.

Amazing staying

If I could give 10 stars I would! The location is impossible to beat (3 minutes walking from a private, gorgeous beach), the house (beautiful) has EVERYTHING you can ask for, and IF what you are looking is not there, Carlos and Sylvia will make sure to get it for you. They are extremely helpful and accommodating. They gave us recommendation on tours, places where to eat and answered all our questions. Definitely one of the best stay ever!

Great property!

The house/apartment combo worked really well for our two families (4 adults, 6 kids). The kids had their own space and spent so much time playing pool and in the pool that the adults got a relaxing vacation. In addition to the gorgeous property, we loved the location (short walk to the beach) and area. We enjoyed practicing Spanish at the local stores and restaurants. The property managers were wonderful, and the fresh mangoes they left were delicious and a nice touch.

Great 12 year trip for granddaughter

Charming home that offered us privacy for two couples and one 12 (going on 15) year old. Gorgeous plants surround the garden area and the pool is right outside the door. We loved the quiet gazebo in the middle of the property that gave shade on a hot day and the upper deck with a stunning view of the ocean. The feral cats and chickens became friends. The property had everything we needed for a great week.

Great place in a quiet neighborhood with beach minutes away

Beautiful home. It was nice to have a separate guesthouse. It provided some privacy with our group of 8. Pool is very nice and there is lots of yardspace, which is landscaped beautifully. Sylvia was great and super responsive. Anything we needed, there was an answer within minutes. There is a private beach minutes away which is gorgeous. They say the water was a bit rough but it seemed fine for us. Either way there is a kind of natural pool that is protected by rocks. Restaurants were about 10-15 minutes away by car as well as the grocery store. My family loved this place.

Please don’t take our week!

This was our second time here. Don Rafa is such a wonderful place for a family stay! There was ample space for 4 couples. Beds were comfortable and there were 2 en suite bathrooms. It’s the outdoor spaces that really make it so wonderful. We cooked outside a few times. There were so many places to hang out without being on top of one another. The beach is a quick 4 minute walk downhill (meaning the walk back is uphill). Pool floats, beach chairs and collapsible coolers were available. There were ample bath towels and beach towels for everyone. Each bathroom had shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Cooking basics were provided. Everything we needed was there for a great stay!

we absolutely loved the property.the outdoor space is wonderful.i especially loved the outdoor kitchen with 2 types of grills.sitting outside in any one of the patios with the ocean breeze was a dream.great space for the whole family.the kitchen has eveything you need to get started.villa was very clean and well maintained.only had one small issue,the master bed was really uncomfortable it seems to have 'dips' and leans to one side. everything else was perfect! i would 100% stay there again.

Hillside beach home with tropical vibes

The large property was a perfect fit for our group of nine people. The smaller 2 bedroom/1 bath apartment on the property was very comfortable and gave our family privacy. Both houses were very clean and decorated beautifully. Outdoor kitchen was convenient and we used outdoor seating. Pool felt refreshing and we spent several days enjoying it along with the lush plants and flowers on the property. Sylvia was available and responded quickly to any concerns. Sylvia provided recommendations on local restaurants, trips, and activities.

Wonderful!

We truly enjoyed our stay here - the property is spacious and beautiful, and the hosts are quick to respond and provide any assistance needed. They even left a delicious New Years Day cake for us upon check in! There is a grocery store and Walgreens within 10 min and easy day trips to San Juan, the rainforest and the bioluminescent bay. The beach is within walking distance (two minutes away), and never crowded. There is a little swimming area for kids as the waves can be rough for swimming, but lots of open each for splashing in the surf. We would highly recommend for families and groups!! What a wonderful place.

Adult Family Trip

Property was awesome! Lived up to all expectations and more. More than enough space for 8 adults, both inside and out. Open aspect of the Kitchen and living area, to the size of the bedrooms. Separate apartment allowed for a little separation if needed. Outdoor space was great with the deck overlook- (especially for coffee in the AM) the pool ,and outdoor gathering areas. And a short walk to the beach gave great options. My wife and I, along with our 3 adult children and their significant others enjoyed the property tremendously. Thank You!

Perfect Place off the Beaten Path

All of the reviews left so far are spot on. Our multi-generation family of 8 stayed in Villa Don Rafa and absolutely loved it. The hosts were very responsive to any questions or assistance we needed while onsite. The beach is less than a 0.25 mile walk (or drive) down the hill and we almost always had it all to ourselves. If you are a runner (I'm training for a marathon), get ready for some hill training. Although you can also do quarter mile loops and stay on a flat portion for the majority of your run. You will definitely need a vehicle to get around, but we also loved the time we spent just hanging out at the villa or beach. We would definitely book here again!

Amazing Vacation with the perfect house

This house is amazing. Very clean and full of the Supplies you need to have a comfortablestay. Sylvia was amazing!! Always veryquick to respond and helpful. The beach is just a short walk from the house and beautiful. But the backyard of this house is so amazing it is hard to leave the comfort of home. We were there with a family of 7 adults and had plenty of space and comfort for everyone. Sylvia gave us a recommendation of a private chefto come to the house and prepare a meal. Juan Carlos was amazing. The meal was perfect and incredibly delicious. All 7 of us agree that this experience was the highlight of our trip. It was my son’s birthday and Jan Carlos was more than willing to prepare a cake for our celebration. I can not recommend enough to take advantage of this opportunity. It was a perfect way to indulge in an authentic Puerto Rican meal. Sylvia was so kind to provide me with a birthday banner, candles and birthday napkins. This house is perfect for making special memories to cherish. meal .

What a phenomenal experience! Communication began the moment we booked. Check-in process was easy even though we arrived late in San Juan. The home is as described. We found it to be comfortable and well decorated. Ample bath and pool towels were provided as well as toiletries. We found everything we needed to prepare meals: pots, pans, utensils and plenty of dishes for our party of 8. There’s also a toaster, coffee maker, & blender. The dining table seats 6, but there is room for 2 at the bar- there’s also plenty of seating outside to eat. I think there were tvs in each room, but who knows, we didn’t watch it; there was too much to be done with family on this wonderful island. The property is amazing! There are so many outdoor spaces to just “be”. Want to play a game in the pool- you can! There’s a floating table! We never felt like we were on top of each other and had ample space. The walk to the beach is a little tough on the way back as it is all uphill, but the refreshing shower once you re-enter the property makes you forget it all. The beach itself is not very busy. Most times there were only a few others down there with us. We had a few very minor issues- portable speaker not charging, hot water, smoke alarm beeping- all taken care of immediately! We have been to Puerto Rico a few times and this was the family’s favorite! We hope to be back in the future :)

Villa Don Rafa

Positives: The location is private (gated entry) and the community is quiet. Short distance to the beach which is also private (key fob needed) the surrounding area has very little to offer other than a few kiosks with ok food and drink. The beach was very nice. Quiet side for kids where a rock outcrop protects the shore line and a more traditional beach where the sand was nice and the waves were not that rough. Only for experienced swimmers. Very few people on the beach. The house had a well equipped kitchen and sufficient beach equipment, but two of the beach chairs provided were broken. Plenty of chairs outside to lounge by the pool or on the balcony. The billiards table was covered and out of the sun but lining up shots could be difficult with the possibility of slipping off the patio. Outdoor kitchen had two grills and a gas range with refrigerator. Owner was responsive. Negatives: I want to preface that not all the negatives are the fault of the owner. We lost power a total of three times in 6 days. Not weather related. We did have a generator but it ran out of fuel once and failed to start another time. Hard to sleep while running. All activities are minimum 45-60min Drive. The pool was only about 3-4 feet deep. Pool filter was not working properly. Local grocery is far 20-40 mins depending where. Stray cats at house daily 24/7. Stray dogs on beach. Lacks a living room/common area other than dining room table. We had 8 stay here and it felt a bit small. Grade:3.5stars
