Sugarek Lakeside Retreat: House and Texas Cottage Lake L.B.J.

Bedrooms 2
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath

This home and cottage are located directly on the Llano arm of Lake LBJ in Kingsland Texas, across from Lighthouse Golf Course. The Main House has two bedrooms and one bath and the Texas Cottage is an efficiency cottage which is rented separately.

In the Main House, the master bedroom overlooks the water and has a queen size bed and single bed. The soft blue and flowered theme offers a sense of tranquility.

The second bedroom is at the front of the home an offers a double bed.

The sunny, fully equipped kitchen is located at the front of the house overlooking Lighthouse Golf Course. Whether preparing a meal or gathering around the table in the breakfast area, this will be a favorite place to gather.

The open living area provides a dining table, three additional conversation and sleeping areas with one queen and two double hide-a-bed sofas and two additional sofas. The living area overlooks the water on two sides through large windows and opens onto a spacious deck.

The house's warmth is enhanced by hardwood floors, the living room's washed pine walls, cozy conversation areas and abundant sunshine from all sides. The home's large windows allow a feeling of being outside from the comfort of indoors.

The oversize deck on the lake side provides a place for sitting in the swing, entertaining, watching the sunset over Packsaddle Mountain or just enjoying a book or cup of coffee.

Walk or ride your golf cart across the street for a game of golf, swim in the lake, sit by the water or take a hike and enjoy the area's abundant wildflowers and birds.

The Texas Cottage, which can be rented separately, is a one bathroom efficiency type cottage with kitchenette, an antique iron double bed, queen size hide-a-bed and additional sofa. The wooden walls, red bandanna accents and denim make you feel right at home in this cottage in the Texas Hill Country. For an additional fee the cottage can also be rented in a package with the Main House.

About Nancy Sugarek

I have been coming to this home since I was a teenager. My family bought this house in 1988 and it is one of my favorite places to be.

Nancy Sugarek purchased this house in 1988

Why Nancy Sugarek chose Kingsland

My parents brought me to this house as a teenager to visit a friend who lived here. In later years it was the one 'extravigance' that my parents purchased in their 52 years of marriage. (and I've always been thankful for this) I fell in love with the Texas Hill Country the first time I saw it as a child, and the love has continued. The rocks, lakes, wildflowers... I love the area. It is a small community which I love to visit. The location in the Hill Country of Texas is one of my favorites.

What makes this house unique

I love to look at the water, feel the breeze on my face or go boating. As a collector of antiques, the many little shops in the area are frequent haunts. The multiple quaint and tasty restaurants are a delight.

Great visit. Everything you need in the cottage with amazing access to the lake

  • 4 of 5

Our family had a great time at this property. The rate was fair given the proximity to the lake and private boat slip. Lake traffic was crazy on Memorial Day weekend, so just be aware that it will be choppy by mid-day.

Beautiful home with stunning waterfront park and view!

  • 4 of 5

We had the best time in Nancy's home. We were 4 adults and a dog. The park is huge, the view is beautiful. The neighborhood is quite and safe. The kitchen is fully equipped. The bed and couches are very comfortable. The pictures do not do justice to the stunning view the master bedroom has. We hope to go back soon. Thank you nancy!

Very poor

  • 1 of 5

Thank you for the stay. There weren't few things that was not up to par. I'm in the business of renting houses. The house needs a serious facelift. Paint. Rotted wood , dirt and cob webs on all windows. I was not comfortable staying in house. That is why we left a day early. Sorry for a bad review. But it has to be said.

Wonderful Stay

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this home the weekend of our wedding and it was absolutely wonderful. The home was cozy with everything we needed, the Texas Cottage was great and the homeowner Nancy was purely a joy to work with. The view of the lake is awesome, the backyard is huge and the swimming was so much fun! Our stay in this home was the perfect touch for a flawless wedding and a memorable weekend. We are looking forward to staying here again for our anniversary! Thank you Nancy!

Memorable Memorial Day Stay

  • 5 of 5

A wonderful weekend! Beautiful view of the lake and a very comfortable home. My husband, 2 grown sons and I had a wonderful weekend of fishing and relaxing. The boys commented the fishing was the best of any house we have rented at Lake LBJ-none were keepers but had a lot of action with small perch. Thank you to Barbara for allowing us to stay in your home and have a great family weekend! We definitely plan to come back!
