This dream vacation home is the best of both worlds -- seclusion and accessibility. 'Soundscape' is a marvelous 4-bedroom, 3.5-bath canalfront home in the Peninsula subdivision of Manteo! And when you're ready to spend the day by the ocean, the nearest beach access is just an 8-minute drive away.

This is the ideal vacation rental for families who want to spend lots of time together while relaxing in the OBX. You don't even have to leave the property! The sound side of the Outer Banks is the perfect location to enjoy sound side fishing, kayaking, boating, and other water activities, all of which you can do from your private 50ft dock. At night, you and your loved ones can cozy up in the living room for stories, laughter, and games. If your group gets the itch to explore, Soundscape is minutes from downtown Manteo -- an area full of independently-owned boutiques and restaurants you're guaranteed to love.

Park your car in the expansive driveway or carport that can comfortably fit three vehicles. After you walk into the foyer and up the stairs, you'll be pleasantly illuminated by the copious amounts of natural light. Soundscape has stained glass overhead lighting in the living room and master bedroom on the top level. The spacious living room is a perfect gathering spot for friends and family to reconnect and make new OBX memories.

A modern kitchen comes fully stocked with everything you need to cook delicious meals in your own home on those nights you don't feel like venturing out, including a Keurig for early morning coffee. The well-equipped kitchen has been completely renovated with new stainless steel appliances: refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, and oven/range. Enjoy breakfast at the kitchen island bar with seating for 2 or sit down for a family meal in the adjoining dining area. Try not to fight over the King Master bedroom with an ensuite bathroom! This may be hard to do, given its immense size and the perk of a whirlpool spa and massive stone-walled shower with sliding glass doors. In the bedroom, you can kick back and watch the Roku Smart TV or catch some rays while lounging on the top-level deck, accessible through the top-level master bedroom and living room.

Venture back down to the mid-level where you will find the remaining three bedrooms this home offers. There's a second King master bedroom with an ensuite bathroom. The bedroom comes equipped with a TV and DVD player. Down the hall you will find two more bedrooms, one featuring a Queen bed, the other two Twin beds. These other two bedrooms have the same comforting brilliance of natural light as other rooms in the house, and you can even open the sliding glass doors to walk out on the covered, wraparound mid-level deck with lounge area! The shared bath for these two rooms has two sinks, making getting ready to go out easy for multiple guests. One thing that remains constant throughout all the bedrooms is the storage space from beautiful cedar closets.

On the ground level, the backyard view sets Soundscape apart from so many others! You can't beat sunsets on the Roanoke Sound, and here, you'll have one of the best front row seats on the OBX! Plus, the private 50ft dock is guaranteed to provide more joy from potential water activities than your heart can handle. After a day of splashing around in the sound waters or ocean, be sure to rinse off in the convenient outdoor shower before throwing your suits in the mid-level washer and dryer. You'll also find a Mini-Fridge in the Carport for easy access to delicious drinks and yummy snacks both before and after your day at the beach!

Known for its niche shops and restaurants, downtown Manteo is a small hub of creativity that's oh-so-easy on the eyes. Most of the shopping centers are constructed with an elegant, yet understated New England architectural style. You won't find a Target or Belk here, but rather independently-owned boutiques and restaurants that capture the uncapped creativity of Manteo and surrounding area residents. Purchase some gifts for friends back home and dare them to try and find replicas ANYWHERE else!

Located on historic Roanoke Island, Soundscape is in the perfect location for learning more about the history of the Outer Banks. Pay a visit to the beautiful Elizabethan Gardens or stop by Fort Raleigh National Historic Site to discover how life on the island was for early settlers. The Lost Colony is an award-winning live theater performance about the famous lost colonists of Roanoke Island and is a great outing for the whole family. Kids will also love a visit to the NC Aquarium where they can see sea turtles, otters, sharks, fish, and many other marine animals. Downtown Manteo offers great shopping and tasty restaurants all with a spectacular view of the water. You can even visit the Roanoke Marshes Lighthouse (one of the 5 Lighthouses of the Outer Banks). When you want to venture into the main area of the Outer Banks, you are just a short drive away from South Nags Head and can easily take a day trip North toward Corolla or South toward Ocracoke.
