Three stories of lavish Italianate beauty with breathtaking ocean and golf course views await you at Florence by the Sea, our home across the street from the beach in Ocean Hammock. With every luxury from a pool to an elevator, it's a dream vacation home.
Boasting more than 5,000 square feet, Florence by the Sea is ideal for a big family ready to spread out and get comfortable. The elevator makes it accessible for everyone, so it's a good choice for a multi-generational vacation. Ocean Hammock Resort is a family friendly, gated beach community. The world-renowned Ocean Hammock Golf Course winds through the neighborhood, affording spectacular views. There's something for everyone here!
Your favorite part of Florence by the Sea is probably going to be the giant atrium-ceiling lanai, located off the rear of the house for even greater privacy. Enclosed in this vast space is a lovely swimming pool with an adjacent Jacuzzi to massage those golf-sore muscles! There's also a full summer kitchen, with a state-of-the-art grill and plenty of room for seating and poolside play. Just wait until you find yourself floating in the pool, gazing up at the vast blue Florida sky with a cold drink close at hand! Stress and everyday cares just melt away here!
Step inside from the lanai and you find yourself in our family room, one of two living areas designed for a crowd. Here you'll find a huge HDTV, wet bar, ultra-comfortable sofas and chairs, stereo system with Surround Sound (this is available throughout the house), cool tile floors, and plantation shutters on the many windows. After a long day at the beach, the family room is like an oasis! Make yourself a drink, put up your feet, and enjoy the game or your favorite show.
The second big living area is upstairs. Our great room is filled with windows and surrounded by balconies, and boasts a huge fireplace in addition to another entertainment center with HDTV and all the trimmings. And if you need more space, Florence by the Sea has a spacious office!
One of the best features of Florence by the Sea is the kitchen, which is adjacent to the great room. Beyond the long granite countertop and breakfast bar, you'll find Sub Zero appliances, a central island, custom cabinetry, and all manner of appliances and equipment. You can prepare a feast for 20 in here without going short a single fork! The dining room awaits formal meals, while a sun-filled breakfast nook does everyday duty as a lovely place to sip that first cup of coffee, update your Facebook status (you have free wireless Internet at Florence by the Sea), and plan another perfect Palm Coast day.
Even more important than the kitchen are the bedrooms, and you will simply love the arrangements here at Florence by the Sea. There are 6 bedrooms, 3 with en suite bathrooms, including a 1st-floor room right off the lanai that is great for those with accessibility issues (10 steps to the pool for water therapy!).
The master suite includes a large living area with a couch and chairs, a king-size bed, a long bank of windows, and a balcony with panoramic views. The en suite bathroom offers his-and-her vanities, a walk-in shower, and a deep tub. This is an area made for late nights and long mornings! It is a haven, and only the promise of another great day in the pool, on the course, or at the beach will lure you from it!
The 2nd bedroom contains a king bed, with an en suite bathroom including a walk-in shower, while the 3rd has a king bed and bathroom, and the 5th bedrooms & 6th bedrooms have queen beds. The 4th bedroom contains a bunk bed with two doubles (sleeps up to 4 kids). There are also 2 brand new queen sleeper sofa beds. All are spacious and pleasant, with all linens provided. Oh -- did we mention the full-size laundry room in this house?! And, 2 garages for extra parking or storage.
With handsome landscape and even a private walkway almost outside the front door to lead you down to the beach, Florence by the Sea simply has it all.
Hi! My name is Steve Milo and I started Vacation Rental Pros in 2006. Our family stays in vacation rental homes whenever we travel, both domestically and abroad! I own several vacation homes and listen carefully to all our guests' feedback. Our greatest compliment is when folks refer Vacation Rental Pros to their friends and relatives. We now manage over 1,800 properties in Florida, Tennessee and South Carolina. We have homes in Ft. Myers Beach, Orlando, St. Augustine Beach, Daytona Beach, Palm Coast, Ponte Vedra Beach, Hilton Head and Gatlinburg. We booked over 15,000 rentals and received over 5,000 guest reviews in 2016. Please call if you need help booking your dream vacation!
The views from this house were breathtaking! Great convenience to area attractions with the feeling of seclusion too. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I have vacationed in St. Augustine several times now. Vacation Rental Pros has been my favorite company to work with thus far. Very accommodating. Will be using their services for my next getaway. Thank you!
Perfect for my mother's birthday party! Beautiful home with great ocean access. Pool was heated so year-round use. Only negatives: needed more towels and some of the furniture was worn. Overall - a wonderful time!
Stayed from Sept. 10 to 17. No wifi (even after 3 service calls), no phone service, house not very clean, stove filthy, furniture on main floor (not as pictured). Furniture was not clean and was very worn. Toilet in main floor bathroom had no handle to flush, handle on sliding glass door in downstairs bedroom broken off. The management company was almost impossible to reach and most of the time did not return calls. No hangers in bedroom closets. We had to buy some.
We were a group of 9 on a working vacation. The Wifi was available about 7 hours over that 7 day period. I requested that they swap out the modem so we could do our reports and blogs.
You can imagine the tension of 9 consultants and blog writers who were unable to do our jobs. The plan was to meet our professional career demands from 8 to 12 and then enjoy the beach. We were turning modems and cable boxes on and off to no avail.
We tried to visit the satellite office in Hammond Beach and found it unmanned. Our phone calls went unanswered.
Our maintenance man was fantastic and he did all he could to help us.
I called Management for a credit of some sort and they never acknowledged the call. The Maintenance team were supposed to come out to clean the stovetop. They called and said they would be there in 20 minutes and never showed up.
Broadwater came out and fixed it and an hour later it went down again.
The interior photos online do not reflect the actual interior. No white sectional in the great room, a red plastic tablecloth on the dining table. Unmatched furniture in the Master Bedroom sitting room.
We were very disappointed
We were a family group of nine adults and and five children (15, 12, 10, 10, 7). We stayed three nights. The house is beautiful and the location is fantastic, very close to a beautiful white sand beach. The beach access is a wooden walkway almost directly across from the house. Even though we were there on a weekend, we had the beach almost entirely to ourselves.
The master suite is lovely and spacious. However on that same floor is what is described in the listing as: "The 4th bedroom contains a bunk bed with two doubles (sleeps up to 4 kids)." The beds were too small for even our two ten year olds to share. The room sleeps two children and there is no bathroom except the master bath., so we had kids traveling through the bedroom a lot! Finding a place to shower was a problem for all 8 of our family members who were sleeping in rooms without a bathroom. There is only one pull-out sofa bed. The teenager had to sleep on the sofa in the living room off the kitchen (no sheets were provided on our first night, even though I called and was told they would arrive. They brought them by during the second day.) It was not suitable because he had to get up early when others came down for breakfast. There is no privacy or quiet for either the pull-out sofa or living room couch for sleeping.
The property management group was terrible. When we arrived at the community gate, they had not provided our guest and car data sheets which we completed and had approved far in advance of our arrival. We sat for 45 minutes at the gate while they tried to sort it out! The staff member from the property management group emailed the wrong document to the gate 3 times! It was really ridiculous. There were a few problems during the stay...grill ran out of gas mid meal, smoke detector battery buzzed low battery alert....these were fixed quickly. The outside door in one of the bedrooms would not latch, I called maintenance at 6:30 pm Sunday night and was told to wedge a chair in the opening, since they couldn't take care of it until the next morning.
Had a nice stay in Mid March with 11 family members. Nice house in a good location for a relaxing stay. Beach, pool, st Augustine, Daytona, cape canaveral and orlando all provided daily activities for family members. Some add'l observations that weren't mentioned in earlier reviews: 1 ocean view is no longer the same as most lots across street now have houses built; 2 community gate requires car to check in each time you return; 3. Publix market is very close by for food and supplies; 4 there is a $2 toll bridge nearby consider a multi-visit discounted pass upon arrival. Suggestions for rental company: 1first night starter package w coffee, filters, salt, pepper, etc would be nice; 2 providing five or six beach towels would enhance; 3. Found broom but no dust pan. Also, Never had a need to contact company for service. Everything in the home worked as expected. Pool/spa remote was unique but figured it out.
Overall very nice, spacious and a good location. Views from the third floor were beautiful. A nice beach to walk on and perfect weather for the week of December 13th (mid-70's).
