Claude responded quickly and professionally to a disturbance issue outside the apartment.
A no frills, centrally located apartment in a heavy tourist area
A tidy apartment in a back alley that's near many touristy restaurants. A short walk from most amenities and several metro stations. Not the most picturesque area. Suitable as a centralized spot from which to go visit areas of Paris, but not itself a place you'll want to be hanging out very much as there is nothing to speak of in the immediate area. Walking distance to the Seine and Notre Dame as well as some nice neighborhoods.
Thanks Dene for taking time to resume your stay. Sorry you where not pleased by the look of the street and the building. It's a typical street of old Paris (The building where the studio is located is from the 18th century) as all those houses in the "Marais", side to spectacular and splendid palates and yet inhabited in ancient time by poor workers: Not picturesques at first degree but this makes the charm of this antique historical Marais!
Quiet and clean. Wonderful host.
Claude is an excellent host. She was very responsive in planning and answering all of my questions ahead of time. When we got there, she showed us how everything worked, where to go in the neighborhood and she even ordered a taxi for us on our departure date. The place is quiet and clean and big enough for 4 people.
It's so easy to host great guests. Thanks a lot for this review, please come back in the old center -the "Marais"- of Paris
Comfort and value in the upper Marais!
My husband and I recently spent 6 nights at this Paris studio and we can recommend it if you want value and comfort, without luxury. It is well-located (metros Arts et Metiers & Strasbourg-St Denis, and many bus lines), the street is quiet and non-touristy, but plenty of cafes are a block away and the Marches des Enfants Rouges is not far.
It looks exactly like the photos, but felt bigger because of the high ceilings and large windows. It is very quiet, since the windows face an interior courtyard. A bonus is the air conditioning that worked very well! A/C is hard to find in many Paris apartments, especially at this price point. It’s spacious for a studio with well organized space, has good wifi, a comfortable sofa and the bed is also very comfortable, not hard like many Euro beds.
The kitchen was functional and has the washer/dryer combo off to the left side. We missed having a dishwasher, but we knew there was none beforehand, and we washed dishes with the supplied dish liquid. The table was useful for breakfasts and some meals.
One entry hall closet is filled with extra towels and bedding, and there is an empty closet with one side for hanging clothes and the other side with shelves for storing clothes or other personal belongings, and our empty luggage also fit at the bottom. The bathroom shower had plenty of hot water with strong pressure where if you turned it fully on, the drain would not handle the flow. But keep it on half pressure and it drained effectively. There is storage for your toilet and bath supplies on the shelves under the sink.
Communication with Mme Tixier was excellent, she returned emails with answers promptly. She provided information for the best public transportation to take from the train station. She was waiting for us at the prearranged hour, and was so kind to have the A/C working on the unseasonably hot May day we arrived, and we really appreciated that! She explained everything about the apartment and was always available via phone or email if we had questions. We appreciated the information sheets and took advantage of the Carrefour City market and the Picard frozen food store (gourmet frozen food to be microwaved, try it, you’ll love it!). Since no one was checking in the day we left we were able to stay later, so we stayed until 2 PM since we had an evening flight. Thank you, Claude!
When we return to Paris we will surely stay at Mme Tixier’s comfortable and conveniently located apartment.
Thanks a lot Linda for taking time to write such an elaborate comment on the studio (and your hostess). It's so important for me!

Madame Claude was very nice and helpfull, the studio needs a little improvement, the shelf under mirror in bathroom did not hold anything except toothpase, my husband tried to fix it. We had to keep shampoo on the floor in the shower cabin, there was no cuddy, no shelfes, kitchen had everything we needed it, location is excellent, we will come back, thanks
Thank you Yelena, come back very soon.
You will find a shelf for your shampoo, a carry soap in the shower and more...
