  • Just terrific!

"My husband and I just left this apartment, so we can tell you it was absolutely great! The apartment itself is loaded with character and nicely decorated. It has everything you could possibly need, right down to a strong hairdryer (no need to bring one----I have very thick hair and it dried my hair faster than it's ever been dried before!) The wifi is excellent. The kitchen lacked for nothing. We made breakfast every morning from stores right down the street----baguettes, butter, jam, croissants, eggs. I miss my baguettes and croissants already. The bed is just fabulous. I know that's a strong word, but it was. We walked miles every day and because of the quality and support of the mattress, we did not have one ache in our body. It's a temperpedic type. There is plenty of storage for clothes and the room has curtains that keep the room dark. It is very quiet. The bathroom was modern and we had no trouble with the shower- strong water pressure. We loved the big windows in the living room. It was fun to watch the world go by from them. They open and there's a nice cross breeze if the place gets a little stuffy. I like that the building had two doors to go through ---for safety, as the apartment is at a busy intersection with a lot people. The building is so old and the inside is fascinating. My husband just couldn't get over the steps and beams, etc. From the outside, it looks like a typical city apartment----the door is between two stores and you are two floors above the stores. It is a very hip, urban area with a major department store diagonally across the street and cafes and markets and bakeries and boutiques, etc, going both ways. I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't in a more quaint, pretty area, but the location quickly made up for that. You are one block form the metro and taxi stand, two blocks from the Seine and the bridge that takes you over to Il de la Cite (Notre Dame) and that is where the RER (train station) is. That made life very easy! The location is central enough that you can walk to many major sites. (Notre Dame, Saint Chapelle, The Louvre, Victor Hugo's house, Picasso Museum, etc.) The owner is very responsive and helpful. We came in on an early morning flight and she was gracious enough to let us into the apartment early. We really did appreciate that. Although she couldn't be there to meet us, she sent her friend Gaelle who was just great. She let us in and showed us where everything was. Would rent again!"

  • Wonderful time in Paris

"Three family members, all adults, we stayed in the apartment for about a week. We enjoyed the apartment. It was quite comfortable and met all our needs. It was a very close walk to the metro, bakery, meat market and grocery stores. People everywhere were extremely pleasant and very helpful. Our stay in Mont Martre was a lot of fun! We have had a wonderful time in Paris and hope to return again someday."

  • Perfect location, close to everything.

"This apartment is all about location!! It is a block for the Odeon Metro stop. We used the Metro and RER everyday we were in Paris. The Jardin du Luxembourg is a couple of blocks away. Our first day in Paris we went and had a nice lunch in the park and toured the beautiful grounds. We loved the Left Bank area and Historic Core area. You can walk to Notre Dame, Louvre, and Cluny Musee. There are great restaurants, cafes and shopping area that are within a block or a few. We took the Metro and RER to all the other sights we saw that week in Paris. We only used a taxi to get from Orly Airport when we arrived to get to the apartment. After that it was all walking or mass transit as we became adapt at using the system. This is a unique studio apartment. The bed was comfortable. The kitchen met our needs. The Paris tap water tastes great! We didn't have to buy bottled water, just refilled our reusable one's for daily use. We were able to get some simple items for breakfasts and snacks, as we spent most of our lunch and dinner meals out. We utilized the free Wifi with no problem. There was a TV, but we never even turned it on. It was so nice to have a clothes washer in the apartment. We packed light knowing this and each only used a carry on bag/backpack. We were able to wash our clothes and have them air dry. It made our trip more enjoyable not lugging around large suitcases. The bathroom functioned satisfactory. Be aware the shower/bathtub is a creative experience in hygiene. It is best suited for short small people. My boyfriend is 6" and could neither shower standing up or take a tub bath sitting down. I struggled as well and I am 5'4". The weather was unseasonably warm when we were there. Over 90! There are two fans in the apartment which we used and left the windows open at night. No A/C. Most nights were very quiet and the Rue it is on used during the day mostly by students going to and from the school across the street. One night from 11pm-1am there was a very loud boisterous party on the steps by the statue on our Rue, but when we were woken by the commotion we just closed the window an went back to sleep. For those with mobility issues or lots of large heavy luggage, please be aware this is on an upper floor. The stairs were interesting, as they curl around a small elevator. Julia was fantastic. We kept in touch before our trip, she met us at the apartment, went over how things worked and gave us some great tips about the area."

  • Great location with everything we needed

"The apartment was exactly as the pictures showed. We had a family of 5 with 3 teenagers, and were delighted to find a trundle bed in the living room for the two girls. The location is at a quiet end of a street, with no noise at night. We found local grocery stores and cooked evening meals for the family at night, the kitchen was compact but functional. We arrived very late at night on New Year's Eve and I suggest carefully reading the notes on collecting the key to the apartment, this did add to our adventure. We loved staying here it was a very chic apartment in a quiet location close to some lovely shops, the metro and enjoyed being away from all of the tourists"
