  • Great location for Family of 4

"We just returned from a 5 night stay at the Rue de L'Odeon apartment. I did a lot of research to come up with a 2 bedroom (one with 6 ft King bed) and 2 bathroom residence with washer and dryer and this apartment fit the bill perfectly! Henri, the owner, was always very responsive in making our initial reservations. The location was amazing. It is literally a 1 minute walk to the Odeon metro station, and steps away from great restaurants. We hit Le Hibou for our petit dejeuner most mornings and Little Breizh is only a few blocks away and has the best crepes ever! In addition, Georges Larnicol is around the corner for macaroon fixes. Unfortunately the public works was doing street repairs outside, so that was our alarm clock at 7:30 every morning (not a big deal since there was plenty of sightseeing to do!) and one day they shut off the gas leaving us with no hot water, but Henri promptly offered us compensation as soon as he was aware of the situation. There was plenty of closet space in the rooms to hang our clothes. The master bedroom had a smoky smell which I figured out was likely from the 150 year old + fireplace in the room. We just opened the window during the day to air it out a bit. It didn't bother my husband and I got used to it. There were plenty of paper and cleaning products for our 5 day stay and we only needed to hit the local convenience store around the corner for snacks, drinks and fruit. The combo washer/dryer and dishwasher worked fine. The elevator, while small, runs quickly and we generally only used it to take our suitcases up and down and to go upstairs at the end of the day. I would recommend this apartment as a great place to stay for a family who likes to have a little extra room to spread out!"

  • An Excellent Flat in a Great Location!

"My wife and I loved the flat. It is spacious, well organized and in a perfect location near restaurants, transportation, shopping and museums. The descriptions on the web site are very accurate and give a good impression of what the flat is actually like. Marie-Ange is very responsive and helpful (by phone), and Emilie met us as arranged and gave us a good briefing on how the appliances worked. The washer/dryer is excellent. Emilie suggested the wash/dry program 13 which leaves the clothes a little damp. I ran the dry only program 11 and interrupted it in mid cycle by pushing the run/pause button and then holding down the on/off switch. The red "door locked" light goes off in a few seconds. The small dishwasher works well. If the dish basket won’t pull out, make sure the front wheels are not caught in the black stops. The front wheels need to be ON TOP of the stops at the bottom front of the wash chamber. The phone is VERY useful, and the G7 English speaking taxi service is efficient and responsive. We used them several times. Internet is fast and reliable. The flat is near Café Le Procope (where Napoleon left his hat for security for the bill) and Mariage Frères, an amazing teashop where you can have, yes, afternoon tea! The Monoprix super market is a few blocks south on Blvd Saint Michel and contrary to what Google says is open on Sunday. The food market is in the basement down the escalator at the back of the store. There are lots of kebob shops and such around the corner. Rue L’Hirondelle (swallow street) is a quick short cut for pedestrians to Place St Michel and Chez Clement, a decent Paris chain restaurant. The flat is on the premier etage (one floor up for yanks) and the staircase is a little tricky for people with limited mobility like my wife. But she managed without too much difficulty. Shouldn’t be a problem for anyone who can climb a flight of stairs. There is a good handrail. Sainte Chapelle, Notre Dame, the Cluny Museum are all within easy walking distance. You can buy your museum pass in the souvenir shop across the Blvd Saint Michel from Ste Chapelle. The location is very convenient to bus (our preferred mode of transportation), Metro, and RER. Lots of storage. Plenty of guide books! The king sized bed is great! We didn't use the futon. It would be a tight squeeze for adults, but good for kids. A GREAT flat for a couple who want a central Paris location. We would highly recommend it to friends and family."
